If your iMac or MacBook pro etc get stuck on boot mode and your Mac doesn't start up, this will fix it.
Re start your Mac on recovery mode by holding down "COMMAND + R " at the same time when you restart your Mac. Follow instructions on the video. It will take up to an hour for your computer to get fixed. I recently did this on my iMac. Command R works, though I decided to install all my items using my Time Machine back up. It took nine hours but everything is working fine. Thank you for this video
I'd imagine that using the timeline would take longer since you would be reinstalling everything.. this process just re installs the OS.. took me less than an hour I think
What year was your iMac?
did you use time machine before reinstall macOS just incase?
Yes, I was using Time Machine before the problem as my data back up. Glad I did.

@@jaysondejesus8932 it shouldn't erase anything but the OS. This just replaces your current OS, as long as you don't chose erase the disk and you don't reformat your hardrive ( it would erase everything on your Mac) this method that i posted just replaces the operating system that you're currently running on. You can then upgrade to the latest OS through the app store by downloading the latest OS

@Mateo Salguero it just install a new OS, even if you already have that OS installed . You're just replacing it.. you don't lose or add any new info . It's just an OS update pretty much

(reinstall section) Keeps telling me to select disc where to install without giving me any option to select anything. Then I was stuck in that mode, where I could not continue forward or back. So I finally shut down and back up w/com/R.

@@nftrobits3135 was your Mac up to date with the OS updates? It shouldn't give you a problem reinstalling the OS... Does it give you another OS option?
dennis tech 305 I just updated it to a newer OS (I think it was El Capitan, somewhere around the 10.6 range), but when it turned off, it can only get back to the boot logo but eventually turns off on itself

Thank you for showing exactly when to press the buttons. This really helped me today. Thank you! But I didn't have to reinstall the the OS. Another video said to click the disk utility option and then click your internal drive and then click first aid and then click run. Then afternit finishes, restart. It worked for me. Thank you!

Hi. After the install I see apple logo stuck with full progress bar. My computer doesn’t start. What should I do?
After one week looking for solution for my Mac Pro , you are the one on CZcams who gave a tips that works perfectly for my situation.
My Mac was totally off. Trackpad and keyboard don’t work at all .
I tried all others tips that suppose to reset SMC or NVRAM but nothing worked at all.
At least if my Mac was on, maybe it should work but the mine, when you press the button ON , the next screen is the one which ask you the password.
From there trackpad, keyboard don’t work at all. Damn it what I gonna do ?
I sent my macpro for repair, they did and told me everything was okay.
I came back to pick the computer and from home , I opened it and still the same problem. I call them to explain the situation, they were overwhelmed and suggest me to buy a recent computer.
Ok I agree I have a Mac Pro from 2017 and it is old but I felt they were laughing at me and I cannot trust to them.
Then I decide to look for in CZcams and some forum who had already the same issue than me?
After one week, without expectation to find solution, I just click on your video, listen, apply your advice and miracle trackpad and keyboard start to work. Wow 🤩
Right now the macOS Monterey is being reinstalled.

Reinstalling an OS doesn't wipe anything . Only when you format a hard drive does. Glad it worked for you

Worked for high Sierra on Mac book early 2011 after all other methods did not resolve. I had a bunch of new software and files that were still accessible. TYVM

Same!!! , it’s been a year that mine has been sitting in the back of my closet, lifeless due to the dreadful “Boot Loop of doom”. Last summer my apartment abruptly lost power for a good hour due to a black out during a storm. The power was restored about an hour later thankfully - But when I went to turn my late 2012 iMac 27 in back on, the Apple chimed as usual but it got stuck on that milky grayish overcast colored screen and wouldn’t complete the boot up. I think a small part of me died that day lol smh. So, I’m going to give this tutorial a try as a last ditch effort. 😩😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🛌.
I was devastated and don’t have the money to buy new or pay someone to troubleshoot. I wanted to start online classes for design and also start a couple of small side hustles -I’ve always loved the 27in all in one display, so I scooped it up from Facebook Marketplace for like $700. Older I know - the seller upgraded it as far as possible RAM/software wise and it was working like a dream ( for my needs) until the power outage happened and Apple stole my joy lol. 😔 🫣 Anyway, here goes… keep me in your thoughts ya’ll

Would this work on an older model? I use an OSX 10.6.8 at work, which is stuck on boot mode. There are loads of files I am concerned about. But this method won't put any files at risk, right?
What about using the copy saved on Time Machine. Would that work as well?

Omg thank you! Also in case people run into the same problem as I: my Bluetooth mouse wouldn’t connect and I didn’t know why, same with my keyboard. Luckily I have another mouse which I was able to plug in via USB and it worked. With my keyboard (basic Bluetooth apple keyboard) I also connected that to my Mac via USB and I could type with that!

@@albertteodorescu968 nope because there is no solution. That means the gpu burnt out. It's best if you sell you computer for parts that's what I did. I wasn't gonna buy a new gpu because it coasted more than what I played for the computer

@@albertteodorescu968 same I had both windows 10 and mac OS x partition. I knew it was my gpu because after the apple logo loads I get funny green lines all over the screen. It wouldn't boot into any partition not even recovery mode

I did the reinstall and though it installed and the next screen was the apple icon and progress bar but the bar only goes to about 40% and has stayed there for two hours so far. Any other options? Thanks 😊
