2006 Nissan Frontier Oil Pressure Sensor Replacement

- This guide applies to 2005+ Nissan Frontier V6 Models that have an actual pressure gauge on the instrument cluster.
The issue with mine was the needle was reading high on KOEO (Key On/Engine Off), and also KOER (Key On/Engine Running). Should be Low (0 psi)at key on, and around middle (14-15 psi) when running. If I had low oil pressure, the gauge shouldn't be reading high, which points to a bad sensor.
Perfect video. Straight to the point with all the info I need and none of the info I don't need. Thank you a million times!
Great video! I wish I could have seen you actually removing and replacing, but great job overall! I don't know how much oil came out though.
Great video, thanks! This helped me with my 2006 Pathfinder. If it's helpful to others out there, I didn't have a 24mm deep but I DID have a 15/16th deep and that also fit. I read a bunch of awful reviews of cheaper parts bought on Amazon/eBay and I went with a more expensive Napa part that's working great and installed perfectly (no issues with the socket not fitting).
Thanks a ton for the video...super helpful
Thanks for your quick well organized video. I got the exact same replacement oil pressure sensor from O'Reilly's. However, my deep 24mm socket wouldn't fit over sensor plastic and I could not tighten new sensor. O''Reilly's doesn't sell a socket that will help you get this installed. Ended up taking back the sensor and buying one from Autozone because deep 24mm socket fit over their sensor. It was a hassle because simple job took me 4 trips to the stores. Bring your 24" socket with you when you pick up sensor
A 24mm open end wrench or adjustable wrench also works.
@@zeronorhero9800 do you know the size of the tread since i'm putting an old school one
Good video.. Very informative thank you
awezome video i got my sensor changed but removed the negative from battery before it was easy thank you
you save me a couple of hundred bucks im sure got a impact wrench from harbor for 12 bucks and the socket set still under 50 for the fix
merry xmas to me and you thanks again
Nice always says low. Should it be the same concept? And does a lot of oil come out when change it?
What is a normal rpm idle on this veichle please
Awesome thank you very much 👍
Thanks for the vid! Did you disconnect the negative battery?
Thanks, no I did not disconnect the battery.
Would it go to normal (middle) after warmup?
That’s what I wanna find mine goes to bottom and on gas goes in middle ideal all the way down
My Oil pressure is at the lowest and throws a red warning light... changed the sensor twice and checked my oil.. truck runs great. Just can't figure out why the hell it stays there... I give it gas and warning light goes away.
Attach an oil pressure gauge, and check for correct pressure. Might have deeper issues.
@@zeronorhero9800 I hooked up a mechanical oil pressure gauge and oil pressure is perfect! I can't get the light to go away.... I hate sensors.
@@rsamano4434 My xterra had timing chain replaced they found the gallery gasket was bad and also replaced that. It fixed my low oil pressure issue
I have my truck with that problem what happens if I keep driving like that?
If the pressure sensor internally failed, oil can sleep into the wiring harness. If it's not leaking, you'll just have oil light always on.
Did you do this without draining oil?
Yah, no need to drain oil, a little bit will come out though. Just top off after you finish.
I replace it and for me stay the same I press gas and stay in the middle press brake and it go all way doing.
If it moves with input, and lower than normal, you may want to check your actual oil pressure. Have to hook up a pressure gauge.
Did you have problems with the RPM before changing it?
I have the same issue I think fixing the sensor will make a difference.
my gauge is fluctuating at idle. do you think this could be my issue?
You should confirm you oil pressure reading with a gauge and specs.
hi dear where You buy sensor? because i buy one and have another thread:((
I bought from O'Reilly's. The part # should be in the video.
@@zeronorhero9800 thanks but i am from poland and can not buy direct from this shop, i hope so You buy via ebay or amazon etc... but thanks for helping
how much did you tighten the sensor with the socket?
In the video, I said 11ft-lbs
