Thanks! Definitely will try it out on my shower valves. I have a vacation home in NE PA with hard water and lost volume. I was ready to replace the whole shower assembly.
with this video you been help a lot , you when crazy traying to bring back the volume or pressure of water , but you did great, Job thank you for the Tip.!!!!!!!
I've been having the same problem for years. The problem was with hot water barely flowin. I thought the issue was having an instant water heater, so I replaced that twice, then went with a conventional water heater. The repair guy wanted to tear a hole in the wall and replace everything. I'm giving this a try first.
Mine doesnt have the screen, these delta valves are just trash. Luckily I redid my entire bathroom and installed this piece of garbage so now I get to tear into walls to get rid of it. Worked awesome for a week and then no pressure what so ever
If it's a new valve, the new design is much better. I wouldn't give up on it just yet. If you are in So Cal, I can change valves out without busting into the wall. 9 out of 10 times I can change them through a 6 inch round hole as long as they were originally done with solder connections.
Seriously, it sounds like you got something stuck in one side of the valve and it's a pressure balancing type so if one side isn't working then nothing works. Try a new cartridge before giving up or try cleaning the old one.
I'm going to upload a video either later tonight or tomorrow and it's going to show you how to fix whatever's going on if you have no flow or very low flow. I did a job yesterday and I developed a new technique that may be very helpful to you.
I have low to no pressure...no screen and I installed / reinstalled more times than I should have and the new one performed worse than the old...but when I refit the old I’m getting the same as the new one ...I now have an unusable shower :,(
I just bought a new delta shower valve (January 2022) the directions still say NOTHING about removing this screen and as the OP pointed out, it is AFTER the cartridge so it saves nothing. You can easily pull your shower head if there is debris in it, not so the cartridge. I will remove the screens in my shower head as well. I'm on well and septic so any water we use goes directly back into the acquifer...I want volume and pressure!!!
YOU JUST SAVED THE DAY! Thank you for taking the time to post this!!

Just can’t get this to work
normally that is supposed to be removed before the cartridge is installed but it prob saved the cartridge
