There's so much to take away from this conversation but for me one of the most beautiful moments was witnessing two men talk so openly about how it feels to be in love. It made me realise how little I had seen this in my life. We see women talk of being in love but rarely men. I so appreciate Patrice and Stephen being so open ... it really was so beautiful

Powerful interview. I am so impressed with Steven Bartlett, and how he is able to put people at ease with his questions and make them so comfortable that they are willing to share their most intimate secrets and pain with him. This is the second time watching him and the first time was his interview with Patricia Bright. I feel like Steven Bartlett, can be a great therapist and will be a great interviewer like Oprah Winfrey. His style, empathy, understanding, sensitivity, rapport and down to earth nature, puts people at ease. Awesome interview!

This has been my favourite episode in the 2 months I have started watching various episodes.
    Touching, moving, inspiring.
I don't like the term "toxic masculinity".
I am a woman who suffered from the same thing. You don't cry when you hurt yourself. So many suppressed emotions. So much hidden. Gradually over many years in adult life learning to be myself, actually learning, coming to know/trust who I am.
Your podcasts are helping me Steve. And I have been wanting to lead men to have the sort of conversations you had with Patrice. I am so happy to see men themselves leading the way on this.
And both of you exhibit self-belief and commitment to what you love and believe in in. Yes.
Realising that you are leading on everyone who listens in a journey towards more open and honest communication and sharing between everyone.

Wow wow wow what a compelling and moving episode, Steven the questioning was remarkable. Your ability to let Patrice tell his story was equally if not better then the questions. I left the interview feeling that the toxic masculinity in our society must be addressed and this can only happen by our icons humanising themselves to us. I was so intrigued I literally felt like Patrice invited me to dinner 😂. Being a Man Utd fan its like everyone of those determined runs up the flank were steps away from the terrible past and closer to platforms like this that will allow men to talk, listen and love from a place of compassion and tenderness that was not previously seen as the way a father / husband behaves.

💕 I have a baby boy , so stubborn, no fear , and just so loving . And I am scared every single day , that I will fail to give him that safe space that we all need , to be vulnerable and afraid and emotional . He is mixed race , and I have nightmares of people being racist towards him , so yeah , I want to be the safe space that I am sure he will need at some point of his life .
Thank you again for a conversation that I needed to listen to . Learned something and related to some things .

I enjoy listening to the people that you bring. Many of them I don't know. Each interview makes me think while asking myself some questions, examinating parts of my life.

Wow you 2 thank you so much. What beautiful examples of sacred masculinity you are. You may still have remnants, fibres of toxic masculinity inside you but you are leading from the heart and that’s where it all begins. The vulnerability, the depth and the self awareness you shared with us was beautiful and touched my heart deeply. What an amazing conversation, thank you ❤️❤️❤️

I feel much the same way as you mentioned. As a United fan I thought I 'knew' Evra - the happy guy, the funny guy. He really is an iceberg. This has given me a whole new perspective on him as a person, and that incredible United era. Thank you for doing this interview how you did.

@@TheDiaryOfACEO yeah this podcast has been on my mind for hours since watching! So many things, like there was basically no 'selling' of his book, but from just listening to that conversation I'm compelled to go and buy it. And as a fan I'm even more depressed about the current state of things, as when you hear from Evra, and when you had Rio on previously, you can see we're a million miles away from the standard and mindset Sir Alex instilled in the whole club. Maybe you can have all the old United players on 😂 Would love to see a chat with Berba or van Nistelrooy.
