oh btw, i just looked at an old issue of 5.0 magazine and the cover car is the BOSS 351ci V10 wich happens to be this mustang! here are the specs on this car- 5.8L 351ci DOHC V10, 430hp, 405tq, 0-60 in 4.4, 0-100 in 10.3. 1/4 mile 12.88 @ 114.44mph. it has a T-56 6 speed and weighs 3,565lbs as tested. hope that helps everyone out and to stop all the bullcrap argueing about the motor! -Grant

I read an article in Motortrend a few years back where they tested a Mustang fitted with a 5.8L V10 called the Boss 351 (it was a 4.6L V8 with two extra cylinders). Ford was considering using the engine in the GT but went with an all aluminum 5.4 V8 instead. They never finished debugging the PCM so it was prone to stalling. Since they mentioned this engine came from a concept (not a prototype or mule) it's possible this was the 427 (7L) V10 from the 2003 concept of the same name.
12 years later, but I think it may have been just the concept of the engine, not literally the same project. But then again, I cannot say for sure. According to a MotorTrend article (not sure if it was the same as back then or a newer one), this V10 made about 430 hp and around 400 lb-ft, IIRC. Which, for the period, was wild...I mean, that was in the early 00's, the Viper's 8.0L V10 was making about 450 hp. Only in 2003 would the SRT-10 arrive with that 8.3L pushing 500 hp.
Everything you said is bullshit. They DID figure out the ECM issue, they used two v10 Triton ECMs to control 5 cylinders each. IT WAS NOT a 4.6 with two extra cylinders, it was two 5.4s cut and put together for 10 cylinders. Stop the cap dude, there's an entire video dedicated to this project and nothing you said was true
also the 5.8L V10 was created by some upset ford engineers. they made the motor from 2 cobra/mach 1 blocks they kept one block and cut the other in half and grafted the two other cylinders onto the other block giving the DOHC 32V 281ci V8 a displacement of 350.9ci and they called it the 5.8 it's cc'c are 5.751. very close to a 5.8. hope i helped everyone. later guys
I was just going off all things being equal. In the same state of tune as the current Coyote 5.0 it would get a little over 500 HP. Mostly due to it's extra 49 cubes over the current 302. Should be 72 or so HP and 100 LB/ft more than the 5.0 :) Was talking about the 351 V10 Not the 427.

Well, I’m pretty sure you can create this if you wanted, either by using the triton v10, or by getting the cobra v8 and making that into a v10 like the original car
My friend who restores tanks showed me an all aluminum 11 liter v10 Ford motor from the 1940s (that made it into some tanks). I think this motor was the predecessor to he successful 60's NASCAR efforts.
The guy at the bottom is right. They are building a twin-turbo v6 it's going in the new Taurus sho and a merc and rumored to be optional in the mustang gt down the road

V10. you'd need those new antislip carbon fiber clutch bands in the transmission just to keep it from exploding on itself.

No it is not. This was two 5.4s cut and spliced together by Ford Skunkworks. There was no Shelby involvement. There's a really good video on YT dedicated to this project.

FORD was using that mustang as a test mule for the v10. The v10 was used in the cobra concept vehicle. That scene was from the show "Rides" Season 2.
