I went to a Scott Stokely clinic and my biggest takeaway was that everyone is either a windmill or a pendulum person (aka loading up over the top or loading up down and around). I had been doing a windmill and he switched me to a pendulum and I instantly gained around 50 feet by the very next throw dude is legit a miracle worker. One extra detail is that for a pendulum person start with the top of the disc facing outwards and for a windmill start with the back of the disc facing outwards

The best thing about Trash Pandas videos is you can really see how much this guy loves the sport.

Use that back leg to explode through your follow through. It gets tied in with loading and engaging your hips but the added weight transfer really helps with speed and follow through.

The biggest thing that has helped me is "pinching" the disc. Everyone talks about the different grip options, but only Bens Big Drive talked about making sure that you're pinching your fingers against each other on your grip. This got me ultimately to end up changing my grip from two finger stacked grip where I had a hard time pinching the disc with my thumb and index finger and I switched to the Paul McBeth style grip where I now pinch my thumb on the disc against my index with my middle finger as the fulcrum point and man what a difference. The disc no longer comes out early and nose up every time. Now, I'm going to implement the things you discussed in this video with what I'm already doing and hopefully go from my max of about 300' of forehand distance to closer to 350-375'. Thanks for the help!

New to disc golf. I barely get to 200 forehand. I'm 6 foot 4inch 220 lbs and not on bad shape... This video makes me feel I can throw further... Without muscling it. Your form looks effortless and now I'm excited to practice. Cheers

One way to improve distance and save your shoulder and elbow is learning sidearm pitching mechanics. They throw 90mphish for years. Also fielding a ground ball and throwing to first can simulate easy shuffle footwork.

Thanks for referring to a clip from our channel! I'm absolutely loving your video as I am now working to improve MY side arm! lol

The best tip I got was to actually lean my body over my shot slightly so that I'm not throwing full sidearm. It was from a guy who used to be a baseball player and his pitching coaches used to have him throw with 3/4 arm position. Translating to a disc having to be flat he actually leans (I do too now) over his disc so that the disc is flat but his arm is 3/4. I was throwing almost 100 feet further after just a few days switching from fully sidearm to 3/4.

Hey Jesse, you need to reach out to Scott Stokely, to show you the way! He has written the book on how to throw side arm. And it would be a great CZcams collaboration together for the both of you! Thank Jesse for this video!

So stoked about this video! I've been primarily a rhfh player, and throw 330 with both a sidewinder and a katana, this will hopefully get my range up with bigger discs!

x step just like you do back hand... only in reverse...follow through too. youll get more distace with flexibality and following through. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

I have the tip for your 400ft, but be carful it's going to add a lot of torque so. Warm up! If you look at your non throwing arm it's all over the place. What you need to do is have more of leading arm in the swing like a tennis player serving a ball, the arm will up to set the ball and then start the lead of the rotation, this it a little like what you should do but use your elbow, act like your going to hit something behind you, that is going to attack you ninja style. When you get the timing down this will help you get more of the whip and snap you need for that 400ft mark. GL, and I hope this help you.

The biggest thing that helped me was focusing on the pressure in my middle finger as I released the disc so I could add more spin to the throw. I.E more spin equates to more accuracy and distance.

Thanks for your tips! I watched two of your videos and they are great! I used to only backhand and added forehand mostly for approach shots. Learning proper form, I now can throw as far or farther than backhand. This is especially helpful as I move up to 60’s division next year. Thanks!

I am a beginner at frisbee, have about6 weeks of practise so far. My best forehand throw distance is about 45 feet. Aiming for double that.

The thing that unlocked the forehand power for me was when I started to show the top of the disc to the target look at some of the top forehand distance throwers Nate sexton, Chris Clemons, and Austin Hannom. Now I know Chris and Austin have baseball backgrounds as do I so that might be correlated but I found that allowed be to put more power on it and still come out clean. Also mini tip of bending over the disc and releasing it lower. 🤷‍♂️Hope that those might help either way love the channel and purpose keep doing what you are doing.
