- Doner is a worldwide known Turkish delicacy and is usually cooked on special vertical rotisseries designed for doner kebab. It's also quite easy to make doner at home, even better than the ones you can find in European or American kebab shops. In this video, I'll show you how to make an amazingly flavorful doner at home with a mix of lamb and beef, which will definitely impress you and your friends. Get ready for the best homemade doner kebab recipe!
Information about the lamb fat: Lamb fat is traditionally used in kebabs and doners for its unique taste and is a signature ingredient in Turkish meat dishes. In Turkey, traditionally "fail fat" from the lamb is used, however this part of the lamb is usually not available in Europe or U.S. Instead, you can also ask your butcher for lamb fat trimmed from the belly or ribs of the lamb. This will also add a very similar flavor to your kebabs and doner.

Watching this video, you realise this is one of those things in which it's not the ingredients or specialised processing that determine how good the final product is, but the skill of the cook. Brilliant work, brother.
Thank you!
hello new friend here this is one tasty looking dish i need two sandwiches
Einfach GENIAL !!!!
GLG Oswald
I love Doner. I am actually planing on making a doner that is really popular in Nova Scotia Canada sometime this summer. I really enjoyed watching you make it looks so so delicious. I would like to reach through the screen and have some
I grew up on island Cape Breton Nova Scotia and we would have doner every weekend
I will also make the more authentic version on a spit cooked with wood fire :)
This reminds me of making terrine- interesting how you sliced the meat thin then the way you layered gives a cross section of the meat-
The music choices are great and I loved how the strips of meat fell at the end-
Thanks chef, appreciated!
do you have any video for Turkish Ayran?
Not yet, thanks for the idea :)
i wanna make this but i do not have sumac and turkish pul biber neither does my country have it.. is there anything i can substitute it with?
They are totally optional 👍
Hollanda’da yaşayan Türk müsünüz? Tariflerin çoğu Türkiye’de yapılan tarifler ondan merak ettim. Bu gün takibe aldım ve hesabınızı çok sevdim, başarı ve sağlık dilerim✋️
Evet, 4 senedir Hollanda dayim, cok tesekkur ederim 🙏
@@melissakaan6827 cok tesekkurler, altyazilari bazi videolarda eklemeye basladim.
omg...
A good sharp knife is so important
Exactly :)
Works a lot better with a cold beer.
Turkish doner kebab but with chicken doner please!!!!
Coming soon :)
So there are no spices in turkish doner?
No, traditionally only black pepper is used for the marination. For chicken doner, more spice are used to increase the flavor profile.
Pismeden once donerdi, pistikten sonra tantuni oldu.
Eyvallah 🙂
Not the same
This is the easy version, the taste is really good, I assure you. I will also make the rotisserie version with wood fire
@@HungryManKitchen I can get behind it... its just been 12 years since I had doner from street vendors in Germany and all I have near me are Greek gyros which really isn't the same
I am from Turkey but now living in Netherlands and cant find any proper Turkish doner or food here. That's why I'm making my own. Although cuts are not the same with traditional Turkish leaf doner, the taste is pretty close considering its made on stovetop.
@@HungryManKitchen ha.. the few times I went to the Netherlands I can honestly say I don't remember the food.... the best thing I ate there was an Indonesian meal in Amsterdam
Neden hep Türk yemekleri yapıyorsun
