Whoever gets Zach needs to get Dax Milne too in the later rounds, their chemistry is crazy
Super quick release, strong arm, and throws a pretty ball. He doesn't seem to have to do much of a build up to get speed or distance on the ball, and can throw on weird angles, like Rogers or Mahomes. Very accurate and throws with anticipation. He does throw hospital passes on occasion, and in the pros he isn't going to have that much time in the pocket to make decisions. I hope he goes to the Cowboys.

@@JHarrison49 Yeah, leading receivers to spots where they are just about ready to get nailed by a defender. Throwing high, when he should have thrown low. Its a minor critic that he can fix. He does have all the tools though in my opinion to continue to improve and be a solid NFL QB. Im a BYU fan, so I'm glad he is on our team, having a good QB makes all the difference.
@@raddiemutto7934 Gotcha. I figured that's what you meant but wasnt sure since i've never heard that term before. JT O'Sullivan mentioned that he also tries to get a little "cute" at times. He was referring to a no look shovel pass he tried to attempt during a game this year i think. As a 49ers fan I wouldn't be mad if we somehow drafted him. He seems to have a knack for avoiding rushers and making plays which is an ability Jimmy G doesnt have. The longer Jimmy holds the ball the worse he is and bad things usually happen. Not so with Wilson from what i've seen. My question is does Wilson have any games where he mounted comebacks or games where he led the team to the winning touchdown on final drive? Thoughts on his decision making and from scale of 1-100 how would you rate his overall accuracy(short, medium and long)?

@@ramonejones6749 He has struggled in the Pros for sure. He still does have all the tools in my opinion. When is the last time the Jets had a decent QB? Not in any recent history. We will see if Wilson does better in a different system.

After trading Sam Darnold, the New York Jets found a new quarterback to help the team start fresh and new once again.
Anyone that doubts this kids ability watch the Boca Raton Bowl highlights against UCF (a quality opponent) he accounted for all 5 TDs (3 passing and 2 rushing) 325 passing yards and the offense had 430 total yards in first half. The knock is he did not play power 5 schools but he dominated 2 schools (Boise State and UCF) that are probably better than half of the power 5 teams

At least we pummeled Boise State. I'm loving this new rivalry. Utah had to ditch BYU for the Pac 12. At least BYU played nearly a full schedule. It wasn't the original schedule, but at least the country learned about Zach Wilson.

I’d say he is a josh Allen type ceiling qb, not elite but will win a team somewhere quite a few games. Big arm doesn’t always make great decisions and let’s it get away from him quite a bit.

I agree, but we would have to trade up quite a bit to have a shot at him. There’s 4 sure fire projected first round QBs at the moment: Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, and Lance. There’s quite a few teams ahead of us that need a QB or might be interested in one. The Jets, Jaguars, and Washington are definitely taking a QB. Chicago is taking a QB if one falls or by trade up. Minnesota and San Francisco might take one to develop like Mahomes. New England might be in the market too. Honestly, we might as well draft some offensive linemen this year to keep that position group stable before throwing a rookie QB out there next year or the year after.

My take on Zach Wilson based solely on this game:
-Locks onto first receiver
-throws a non tight spiral
-Accuracy is up and down. Often throws behind receivers
-Holds on the ball too long.
-Average speed
-Average anticipation
-poor decision making and accuracy under pressure.
Day two pick. Would not draft in 1st based on this game. Would be 4th quarterback on my board behind Lawrence, Lance, then Fields

Seems to me like they don’t call deep passes because his arm strength is suspect. That’s one of the reasons why he is highly accurate because of the short and mid yardage passes.

Very talented prospect, but it’s concerning that he’s probably going to the Jets. Gase is gone but their offensive line still needs a lot of work and their WR group isn’t very good. He throws into so many tight windows, but that probably won’t translate well in the NFL. Great deep ball, but sometimes his accuracy is a bit off. He needs to sit for a year but I don’t think the Jets will do that because they don’t have any “mentor” qb on their roster.
If this kid goes to Washington!! They will dominate the nd east
The one thing I don’t like, is that he just about all of his snaps are from the shotgun.
He'll have to learn that he's not NFL fast as well as play a little less hero ball. Also some mechanical things to clean up.
Overall though, a great prospect.

BYU can take the win but it was not as lop sided as the score showed. BSU didnt have a starter QB, starter RB and they were missing a primary defense player also. BYU did not beat a regular healthy BSU

It seems like he always goes to his first read and telegraphs a lot of his passes and he makes nice throws but it's mostly that his receivers are much more athletic than the dbs
Telegraphed yep, That why he has thrown so many incompletions and interceptions,,,,,,,,,not 🤦🏻♂️ ... Wilson makes his reads quickly, thus the ball comes out quickly and also with extremely accurately and perfect velocity. 78 freakin percent completion rate and none of his throws are what you would call dink and dunk, or just moving the chains and don’t screw up game manager crap. He is the real deal, and everyone who watches football for the game itself sees this
