Anyway she didn't confess her feelings to get him to reciprocate, if she wanted that she'd just run off with him as he wanted. She did it to pull Subaru, someone who in her eyes never gives up, back to his feet and in that sense "I love Emilia" was a complete success (that's why she is smiling) ... and gotta respect the man for being completely honest and not trying to lead her on.

In that moment i would say Subaru had a good reason to leave, he was getting tired of seeing the people he cared about die in front of him and felt useless and Rem was the only one there with him so he thought if he could just save one person then thats all that would matter, any normal person in that situation of course would have broken down like Subaru and would have wanted to get away he had every right to feel like leaving. not saying its a good thing if he left i'm just saying it would be justified if he did in his current state.
also hey if he did leave he would end up being happy living with rem and his kids. so its not all bad right. also i could see the Rem if getting adapted after season 2 since its the only if story in light novel form and the most popular and longest if story so i can see it happening.
I love emilia .. haha well let's not blame him either, no one is obliged to love someone .. but it causes him to be killed again

You guys should check out “Made in Abyss” it’s up there with Re zero. It’s fantastical with EXTREMELY dark tones. It has the one of the best villains I’ve seen in anime and hands down the best environment in any anime.
They have a if story about if rem said yes to Subaru and it was the sloth if story and they have multiple version of the if story like pride, warth, sloth,greed, gluttony, if you wanna know what happens with rem and Subaru if she said yes you gotta read it, they ain’t animated yet since theres things in there they haven’t shown in the anime but that shouldn’t effect you atleast in the sloth if story but the rest of the if story are heavy spoiler later.
Yeah I told them to hold off on the what if stories due to some characters they haven’t met yet being in them etc but I’ll definitely tell Moe that the sloth what if story is something he can read with the least amount of spoiler possibilities

It's also the one the author hates the most.
Thats a good thing though, if its in light novel form that means it has a great chance of being adapted, also because its the most popular if story by far so i could see it being adapted after season 2. The Rem if deserves an adaption in my opinion.. also because its very wholesome and you know seeing something wholesome in re:zero might be good for a change lmao.

Well it's understandable, Emilia doesn't really get into spotlight until much, much later .... mostly because Subaru is trying to shield her from everything.
