21:22 so for those wondering that is the logo of British Layland, it was basically a collection of vehical companies like Rover, Triumph etc. and well they had a whole heap of production issues (Watch the video LP suggested to know more), which basically effected any product they made.
15:38 You don't want your APFSDS to spin. As the round starts penetrating the armor some part of the angular velocity will transfer to the armor, weakening the penetrator.
There's also the factor that if something that big spins to fast it will just tear itself apart from centrifugal force
That and the fins already stabilize the round so rifling isn't required, thus why it actually is a hindrance to modern AP sabot ammunition
11:12 -11:16 the depressing thing is that someone has actually said that to me.
I thankfully havn't had the "pleasure" of meeting/talking with one of these people, but I genuinely want to know why they think that...
You know. my soul died alittle when you didnt mention German Leopard near the beginning when listing tanks you know of
Wait did I not say the Leopard?!
@@Fort_Master when you were going through the tank making countrys
Great Video!

Japan does have it's own MBTs, the JGSDF (The army branch of the JSDF [Japanese Self Defense Force]) Has natively designed and built a majority of its equipment since around the 60s. The JASDF (Air Force of the JSDF) Buys western aircraft however.
Their main MBTs in service are the Type 10 (entered service in 2010) and Type 90 (Entered service in 1990)
Also, Germany has developed and exported the Leopard. Never forget that.
Let's see, quick list from memory
USA-Abrams
UK-challenger
Germany- leopard
Japan- type 10, type 90
Russia- T series
Italy-Ariati
*India if they get the Arjun to work
China- type series from 69 (niccee) and onward
North Korea- what they think a modern mbt is
South Korea- K series
@@cynthiaherbst3909 And then there are the Altay from Turkey (development from the K2), the Leclerc from France and the Merkava from Israel.
@@stefanpajung113 appreciate it, knew there were at least a few that had escaped me in that moment
@@cynthiaherbst3909 You had most of the tanks that are in widespread use. Your memory was really good in that respect. I probably also forgot a couple, I think Pakistan and Iran are also working on their own tank designs for example.
@@stefanpajung113 that's right, they have programs. In Pakistan's case I wonder if they will go with something built to their needs in the near term similar to Chinese designs or try a more western ish hull. They do have hulls to compare and contrast but like Iran funding priorities may be an issue.
Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Italy, Israel, China have their own Main Battle Tank. So yeah, is a lot more than USA, UK, Germany and Russia😅
31:39 Its not too disimular to how Britian fought in the past, Britians main defence has always been the Navy, the Army was always been a smaller elite force for Britian, even in the worse case situations for Britian like WW2 after Dunkirk and 1805 to 1812 when the British are bascially alone and haing to fight solo, the Navy kept the country safe and the Army was gradually built up overtime.
It makes sense historically since it's an island nation.
Basically sabot rounds don't do well in rifled barrels because of the fins part of fin stabilized, they catch the wind in weird ways and fly off in random directions. If you make a long dart without fins it won't fly well. The british solution is basically to wrap a teflon bearing around the sabot and allow it to free spin.
Always fun to rewatch pig in reaction format. Keep em coming.
Great video! :))
Thanks man!
