- We get into the small things that need to be done to get the engine assembled and running. Freeze plugs, cam, cam bearings, valves, pistons, and rods are all touched in this video. However, we end up running into some serious problems that threaten to derail the projects timeline. Thanks for watching!

Freeze plugs need to be brass for marine applications. Sorry I am late to your series, hopefully you have corrected this before the build is complete?
We still have those freeze plugs in there but we are not replacing them. They will fail earlier than the brass ones but we will correct them when that happens. Unfortunately, we learned about the brass just a little too late
Crosspin bearings? Also called a gudgeon pin bearing is missing.... Engine will not run very long without it... Great video. Best regards from the marine engineer.
Good call! We will do a full inspection of the engine before we run it to make sure we didn’t goof something up lol
Also marine engineer?! pleas watch all our videos and tell us what we are doing wrong 😂
Shure, I am already looking at it. It is funny to see some of your alternative approaches to the different problems, but trial by error is the best way to learn, cause you will never forget it😁 Great videos.
It's funny listenening two. It sounds like you're making up terminology. "Valve stays" lol those are valve/spring retainers. And did you say c clamps? those are internal circlips.
Looks like you know more than us! Good on yuh!
Just found your videos guys, I love them. Are you rebuilding using some manual?
Thank you! and yes we are using a SELOC manual specifically made for the Volvo Penta engines. We could not have worked on this engine without it.
@@DownToTheFrame thanks for the answer ! I saw the manual in one of your later videos. Thanks again for the effort guys !
@@halldorgislason6580 of course! Thank you for the kind words and good luck on your project!
