Best solution: avoid visiting places where there’s no police neither law. The criminals were mocking at the victim as the train started moving. I’ve seen those girls in several videos, everybody knows who they are and they’re “working “ freely; will someone every stop them?

Well you are right, Rome is pretty extreme in that regard. I have seen two failed pickpocketing attempts within one day (one group of gispy girls just like in the video and an african immigrant). The gipsy girls were caught by a local and thrown out of the metro and the african man was caught by another african man, who basically called him out to warn other people.
However Rome in total is amazing and I would highly recommend to visit the city, if you ever get the chance. Don't let the actions of a few bad people discourage you from having a once in a lifetime experience. Just be extra careful when using public transport or other crowded areas.

Probably the police would have given the fine to whoever stopped the train because that type of metro runs every minute, therefore they would have stopped the traffic for a charge.
Unfortunately, thieves in Italy are sanctioned less than everything else, in Italy there is no real punishment based on the crime committed, all crimes seem the same. to give an example: The one who stopped a car is punished more than the car that caused the accident.

Just keep only a small bag with you that's strapped to your front and don't have anything valuable like a phone in your pockets. You should really be doing this on most busy public transit in Europe. I am Italian and I can say that there are two reasons why no one does anything: - Pickpockets seem to be harmless people, but there have been many cases of revenge. The train or subway stations are literally infested with those people. It's easy for them to group together and take revenge on someone who has annoyed their work. Nobody likes getting up in the morning to go to work and ending up in the hospital because of a stab wound. - The police are very present in those places, unfortunately they have the law against them. Each of those criminals is registered and known to the police, but every time they manage to arrest them, they have to release them due to a law that doesn't work. We Italians are used to this reality and now we use stratagems that are 80% effective to avoid having our wallets taken away. Unfortunately, tourists almost never consider this danger, and stick their phones and wallets in the most exposed pockets. As an Italian, I am truly mortified by this problem which, with the current judicial system, is unlikely to be resolved.

All over Europe natives don't buy anything. I was shocked by their poverty. It's the tourists who can afford anything and Europeans meet their needs by legally & illegally looting the tourists. All the extra money, they invest in dress to look richer than they are. I've seen many Europeans who go out without even a single euro in their pocket. You have to feed/pay for them every time you go out with them. They are so arrogant & egotistical. They never say thank you even if you do their grocery shopping. They know, they don't have eggs for the next day but still they'll try to buy accessories or dress to elevate their status. Even the choice of vehicles, one car for the entire family is a normal thing. They buy the cheapest & the lowest model of BMW or Mercedes to elevate their status. Whenever someone asks them, they flaunt their BMW, Mercedes, Audi car keys but then you realise they have the smallest looking, mini hatchbacks 23k euros BMW or Audi. The future isn't looking good in Europe because they don't have excess savings to start a business or investments. All the little excess money after paying their rent. They spend it on dress, eat out (for social media) and alcohol. If you have even $10k you will easily end up in the top 1%. College kids make more money than most European household. All the median income, GDP, Unemployed stats are all a massive lie. 80% of the youth will be out in working hours with no employment but dressed like millionaires. When you look at the unemployment stats, it shows in the single digits. Looting tourists is how they sustained themselves and the reason you see no natives trying to stop the pickpocketers.
