Thank you! All the other info I came across online for this was telling me I needed to plug my Firestick into my soundbar in its HDMI spot and then run another HDMI cord from my soundbar to my TV. And I'm like, there's gotta be an easier way to do this.

The video was helpful. I have a TCL TV and TCL Soundbar. This option worked only when connected using an HDMI cable to TV's HDMI ARC slot and set the audio output in TCL TV to HDMI ARC. Then in firestick I made the audio controller to TV. Then I could control the volume of soundbar using firestick remote.

Finally a video that worked for my issue! Thank you!! Using the settings through the Firestick it did not turn off the soundbar but I said yes anyways and it now controls the volume which is what I need to prevent using 2 remotes.

This was just what I needed to jog my thoughts. My receiver was not showing up going through steps. I then realized that i have the power jumper cord plugged into my usb receiver port, which when I turned off the receiver, the FS was not retaining settings. Powered FS up direct, went through steps, and now I could see receiver, and finish setup. Then was able to go back to original power usb. Problem solved! Thanks for the key i was missing.

my sound bar is not showing up. And I don’t know what to do. I have a Samsung TV and Samsung sound bar connected with a optical cable (that we cannot remove even if I was Hercules).

Mine doesn’t have soundbar option in equipment, im using Bose. It shows on TV visually that volume is changing but it doesn’t, remote works fine too. Idk whays the issue

Try and add the soundbar as a receiver instead, this worked for me!
Not sure why sound bar isn't showing for us, I'm wondering if it's because I added a receiver beforehand or if receiver replaced the soundbar option.

I have an onn. Soundbar and turn on and off with the remote, but the volume buttons of the firestick remote doesn't work with the soundbar.

Cannot get this to work with my Samsung TV, Firestick and Samsung C450 soundbar. The soundbar is connected wirelessly to the TV. I can get as far as the music playing but it never stops. Any answers to the problem? Thanks.

My sound bar is OXS which isnt listed in that list of manufacturerers so this isnt working. Also where do u find the cec thing?
In the menu on the tv. You may have to go through all of your settings to find it.
Can I control this if my soundbar is connected to firestick via Bluetooth instead of hdmi
I am able to put on my soundbar & my tv with my Firestick remote at the same time, but when i want to raise the volume of my tv my Firestick remote want raise the volume , I have to use my fios remote to raise or lower the volume,My soundbar is connected with an optical wire from my tv to my soundbar. can't figure it out. by the way I have an lg smart tv & a vizio soundbar TY
Nice video! A minor problem I experience is now that I'm able control the volume with my firestick remote, it has a delayed response time. When I click the volume button up or down it's noticeably slower which is kind of annoying. Is there anyway to fix that?
I've only seen this happen when there are a lot of remote controlled devices close together or an ir blaster is being used and even sunlight.
Not sure if you tried this or not..
But you could also change the increments of sound volume it increases per click of the button. It's in the same equipment control menu, click on the soundbar paired to your firestick and it will give you a few different options.
Is it connected with an hdmi cable because mine is only Bluetooth and it’s not working

Quick question: if I have a digital output signal to my bose cinemate 15 sound bar can I power it on and off and also use the volume. I have my power stick connected to my tv and my sound bar connected to my tv as well.
Nope, CEC only works with HDMI. The Fire stick 4k remote can program to your Bose to control volume only.
Update the firestick power my soundbar and also controls the volume.

Mine powers on automatically when I turn on the Firestick. I honestly can't tell you how it happened though. It just did it the first time we used it. Point is - there is a way to do it :)

The 4K firestick gives you a list of around a hundred brands and devices. If it's any sort of major brand, it's in that list.
My tv has only 2 hdmi one is Arc and another one is normal and my tv has no optical I just want to connect my fire stick and Sony sound bar too how
Does your television have the red and white audio outputs or a headphone jack?

Yea. With the new Firestick remote you can set that up through the fire tv menu
