Apexmaker sent me a HUGE Resin 3D printer to play with. What else other than to print something huge and dumb with it like a wearable helmet, in resin? Everyone told me it was a bad idea and I did it anyway.

Doesn't using uv resin to join the parts mean that there is uncured resin in the middle of the joint where the light didn't reach, even when lighting from both sides (it is an awesome print, i was just wondering)

Sizing seems perfect for padding it with foam and adding lights so it sits comfy and looks sick

I printed the same helmet and im looking for a good solution for the eyes. Those LED helmet cosplay ones dont fit

to make it cost effective, use it to cast a high quality silicone mold!
then you can replicate helmets out of cheaper and lighter materials like a real prop pro!

Wouldn't a helmet of same size printed by a fdm printer be heavier? I've heard resin prints are lighter than fdm style prints but I have no experience with resin printers so unsure.

Did you hollow out the model on the helmet? That might have cut down on the weight? You can also mix additives like tiny glass spheres as a filler.

I did hollow the back sides but i didnt want the helmet plates to be hollow, just the larger portions (as I mentioned in the video! :) )
