I feel like the “Halls of Today” with the rubble is kind of funny tbh. Because “today” (2277) is broken and destroyed, much like the exhibit.
It’s also kinda like the alternative path to 2020 as well
@@lel5416 well in the fallout lore the was the new Plague similar to corona
Ebon Atoll = Black Isle, Interference = Interplay. Cheeky reference to Interplay interfering with Black Isle during Fallout 2 and particularly Fallout 3 Van Buren (notably a desire to add multiplayer) resulting in the ultimate loss of both Black Isle Studios; Van Buren; and eventually Interplay itself.
I really wish they made it so you could repair the automated exhibit and listen to the whole thing.
I've never been to DC and playing Fallout 3 and watching these videos makes me really want to go and see all of this wonderful stuff before total annihilation happens for real! Oh and stop by Boston too LOL I lived in Vegas as a kid so New Vegas is kinda nostalgic and sad for me.
bosh
I lived in DC. FO3 is a major nostalgia trip. If you can, you should visit cuz the Smithsonian museums alone are a sight to see!
bosh if you ever do visit there I would also suggest checking out the Spy Museum it's got a lot fascinating things in it like how the Enigma machine worked a couple of old American secret agents and my favorite a bit on the classic James Bond movies.
YOU LIVED IN VEGAS? LUCKY!
I like 10 minutes from DC and recognize some of the fallout 3 locations
I live an hour away from the Mojave in california and also a lot of locations from the first couple fallouts are places ive been to or even worked nearby, or live close to even today. Added with making annual trips to vegas throughout my childhood and thus the Interplay/Obsidian Fallouts are a very interesting experience for me
Conversely ive never been to DC, west virginia, or boston
i love the easter egg at 15:30, ebon atoll = black isle and interference = interplay .
also i think the vertibird in fallout 4 might be a VB-01.
one more thing 36:10 that is not a mustang its a P-80 jet fighter (the same type on top of rivet city)
recycling assets!!!!!!!!
Interplay sunk black isle, scrolled because i didn't want to be one of many who noticed this little slight but i did have to scroll surprisingly far...
It’s a blend between the F-84 and P-80... But I agree, it’s mostly the latter.
We know that but take it easy on him
No I think it is a p-51 mustang it just fallen
What was really interesting to me about it was that anybody still knew what prime numbers were. LOL
Math never dies.
Perfect spot for an interesting lore video
Trenton Hillman STOP, YOU VIOLATED OXHORNS MEME LAW
TheEpicNate315 recently did a lore vid about the creepy reason why those weird "Art Deco" faces are everywhere. I wonder... was a force beyond mortal comprehension the cause of the planetarium "malfunction"?
you are the best story teller i have ever met when the scene gets a little emotional it feels like your teaching us in a way of telling these lore's and I love it and the most emotional video you made (for my opinion) was the ''TOY MAKER''
15:50 Here's some fun trivia! Richard Drew was specifically the inventor of Scotch Tape. Scotch Tape took off in popularity because people could use it to quickly mend clothes they couldn't afford to replace.
The Virgo 2 is actually a reference to the LK, a Soviet-developed lunar lander. Several LKs were launched into space as test probes but the Soviet space program never launched a manned mission due to problems with the launch rocket, N-1, and the Soviet's focus being shifted to the development of space stations. The Virgo can also be seen in the mural of the Museum of Freedom in FO4.
We enter a THICC fire fight
god damn it, i just wanted to write that.
NO. NONE OF THAT. Shame on you.

Ox I have to thank you, you are a bright spot on otherwise bad days. From the quality of your content down to the beautiful bowler hat you're a gem in a sea of click bait. Keep being awesome my bearded friend
Oxhorn - there are a couple of hidden areas, that you can get to by jumping. They are in the Delta IX room. From the the fallout wiki, The Vault,
"There are two hidden areas in the room with the multi-level staircase surrounding the Delta IX rocket. Starting from the lower floor, go up the stairs to the second floor, you will see two consoles that say 'Activate Delta IX rocket'. Just to the left of both consoles is a plaque, and to the left of that is the railing that guides its way to a thin ledge on the outside of the stairs for the third floor. At each gap, instead of going up the stairs (2nd floor stairs, and 3rd), jump up onto the room railing, then down onto the little ledge that runs along the outside of the stairs. Follow the ledge to each hidden area.
In the second area there is a blocked off room, which contains a Guns and Bullets skill book in the corner. This section also contains two unique, smaller-than-usual Nuka-Cola bottles.
To the left of the desk with the Guns and Bullets copy, the fridge holds four bottles of purified water."
Also, has anyone ever been able to use the planetarium to kill the Super Mutants? I swear I remember seeing this somewhere - a terminal that references the broken Planetarium causing headaches, and then if you turn it on, and the Mutants don't see you, their heads explode. I admit it could be wrong, but I swear I saw that someplace.
#001 was on the first info terminal you read. After reading #000 and it disappeared and got replaced by a #001, as far as I can tell. You can see it at 13:58
thank you
I had only remembered the #001 and was really confused when he said we missed it.

Playing this for the first time atm and loving it. I’m so happy I found your channel,it’s great to check after I’m done with a part of the game to see what I’ve missed or things that I didn’t pick up on.
You have a real talent for these kind of videos! I’m really enjoying them. Thank you for taking the time to make them😊
I think maybe the Fallout lunar missions were more different than we thought, I think since they only did two Virgo landings, they must’ve stayed on the moon for much longer, and possibly brought the lunar lander back with them rather than doing a later launch to bring it home.
The last time I went to the museum, was along time ago when I was a kid, I live in Anchorage Alaska, and they had sue the giant T-REX skeleton in the very front so everyone could see it, as a kid it was overwhelming to see something of that size.
I adore how passionate you are about Fallout and its lore. I never got the chance to play the games themselves, but I adore the 50s sci-fi physics and wasteland aesthetic. Keep it up! I hope we can see more lore content from you for years to come!

I wonder: Why do laser rifles have any kickback? It isn't supposed to have that right? *insert sciencey explanation here*
Buddy Boo technically is shouldn't do to light having no mass and it being superheated to be a mobile weapon (laser rifle) should have any recoil could be do violent or heating and fire shot so it would likely not be light shot itself more so how the rifle handles firing and cooling it..... But that's just theory, A FALLOUT theory... Thanks for reading

Pretty sure the "Floor suck" system was a series of vacuums mounted either into the walls or the floors as a built in part of the room that you could activate to vacuum the entire floor for you instead of having to use a standing cleaner.
Lol i heard "isolated a virus" and got an ad.
This should be said. You are the best gaming storyteller on CZcams.
Ok that bit about them spending extra time on the moon landing makes me want even more for the Enclave to have a moon base
Yeah, this is one of several reasons to think that in fallout the moon landing was not only real but part of ongoing Lunar activities.

[The Wonderful Adventures of Preston Garvey]
Quick Recap: The group went to make a deal with the Brotherhood of Steel to help in the fight against the Legion. The Legion has taken over University Point and is rolling through the Commonwealth, getting ready to move into downtown Boston. The Brotherhood agreed to fight with them.
Episode Seventeen:
(Old North Church)
Gunner 2: Uh...(clears throat) are you, um, sure this is the right place?
Preston: The General and I came here to find the Railroad and we killed a bunch of ghouls, a glowing one, and then figured out a secret code in a wall. Pretty simple.
(The group arrives at the secret door)
Gunner 3: What's the password then?
Preston: Yeah. That's the thing. I forgot.
Gunner 3: You...what?!
Preston: How am I supposed to remember some secret organization's password?
Gunner 3: You were in there! Don't tell me we have to go all the way back to the Castle to ask the General about this.
Gunner 1: We don't. I'm sure Preston has a plan for all of this. Right Preston?
Preston: We can knock?
Gunner 3: On a brick wall? Are you stupid?
(On the other side of the wall Desdemona, Deacon, and Glory listen)
Desdemona: Who are they?
Deacon: That...Uh...haha, that's Preston. I don't know anyone else though.
Glory: Maybe Preston brought synths?
Desdemona: That's not exactly what the Minutemen do.
Deacon: Preston got fired.
Desdemona: Ha, really?
(On the other side, the group continually argues)
Preston: The password is the Oppression Dead-End. No...wait...the Freedom Road?
Gunner 1: Yeah, try that.
Preston: (Puts in the letters: Freedom Road) Nope, it's wrong.
Gunner 1: Freedom what?
Preston: Didn't we follow a path called the Freedom Trail?
Gunner 2: Yes we did. Hurry up, I don't like this place.
Preston: (Puts in Freedom Trail) That's right! (Walks in)
Desdemona: Hello, Preston. Why are you here with Gunners?
Preston: Oh we need to talk with you about something.
Gunner 2: This army called the Legion is taking over the Commonwealth and we need to unite to stop them.
Desdemona: (Lights cigarette) Unite? Do you not understand our operations? Secrets and trust. We don't plan on be exposed to the Commonwealth too much.
Deacon: Garvey does have a point, Dez. This army is walking around like they own everything. They've already crushed University Point and Quincy. I'd say we give them a shot. Show a little support.
Desdemona: I can't do that. After all, they're just Minutemen.
Preston: Please, we need you, the Brotherhood won't be enough.
Glory: I'm sorry, what? The Brotherhood?
Gunner 1: Yes, an alliance has been made with them, along with Preston's raider army.
Desdemona: Raiders? Brotherhood? Minutemen? Legion? Doesn't sound like a stroll in the park.
Preston: Yes, that's just it. We can all work together.
Desdemona: This isn't the Old World, Preston. We've got our own blues to deal with now. We can go waltzing around with the Brotherhood. They're a strict anti-synth faction.
Preston: This is the exact same problem we had with Maxson. You're all just going to sit here, and what happens after they've wiped everything? And it's just you?
Desdemona: Hmm...you have a point. I think I have an idea. We aren't going to hang out with the Brotherhood but we can handle the covert operations. Fair?
Preston: Yes, of course, that is completely fair.
Desdemona: Now get out of here before we change our minds. Good luck out there.
(Prydwen)
(Former Enclave doctor, Dr. John Dee, stands at a desk with a radio and is speaking into it)
John D: Listen, that man named Preston, who killed some of our people down in Nuka-World is here. I don't have much time. The Brotherhood plans to use me against the Legion and then finish me for food. I've been speaking with Madison Lee, but she doesn't like my idea. I'm hoping to intervene with this whole operation. How? I don't know yet. But I'll make it happen. Trust me.
So the group has "recruited" the BoS and the Railroad. Next, they'll be experiencing their first encounter with the Legion themselves. Stay tuned! Any ideas? Leave me feedback! Negative or positive, just make sure it's a valid point of feedback. Not something like: "You suck" or "You have autism" or "So cringey" leave a VALID point. Thank you all!

All the shows that would've played in the planetarium sounded so fun
I literally just found that Fear Factory Easter egg last night.
From what I've learned, and seen, Prime does not show up at the Jury Street diner until you complete the Jiggs' loot sequence in the Museum of Technology.
It's crazy that we basically have vertibirds now in the form of the Osprey
I just wanted to let you know that I really like your videos. I haven't finished my first playthrough yet so I have not watched them all (I'm avoiding spoilers) but I have watched the ones about things I've already done and I really like your attention to the storytelling and details in the game. Thank you for taking so much time to create these for us.
@Oxhorn It is completely possible that the m199 is the same as the r91. For instance, The HK416 is the same as the M27 IAR, the new infantry rifle used by the Marine Corps. The military regularly does this with certain firearms and equipment.
Trevor Granger But now we just need to find a sex bot
Trevor Granger If I remember correctly the R91 was the rifle issued to the National Guard and Bethesda was just too lazy to make another assault rifle.
Perhaps. It would make sense. More advanced weaponry go to regular military and infantry units. It makes sense that the R91 goes to the National Guard. And it makes sense why they would be everywhere, considering that there are armories everywhere.
The wiki states that the R91 was issued primarily to squads going into urban combat, as well as the Nation Guard since they were likely to be fighting in cities and towns if war ever reached the mainland US. And since the National Guard was on full alert before the bombs fell, it makes sense for it to be everywhere. It also says that the R series replaced the M series sometime in the early 21st century, so it's more likely that the plaque is just out of date.
Well, you've done your research. And it is sound logic. But, now we have the question of what the m199 was or what it was based off of.
Another fantastic video Ox, I appreciate how thorough you are. Thank you for the quality content.
Am i the only one who plays fallout while watching/listening to Oxhorns fallout videos?
Yesterday in a book I read Oxhorn instead of Oxford... I'm addicted to Fallout lore videos. :D
*Best of Fallouts lore video - instant like.*
AGREED!!!
The funny thing is in my play. Through I checked the jury diner prior to going to the museum of technology, prime was not there after butt completing the quest of the 3 terminals, I went back to the jury diner and prime was there.
wow, i never solved that puzzle as i was too proud to look up the answer, next time i will have to do it so that i can get all of the rewards after i find Prime's Corpse.
now the question is who did him in? it wasnt Jiggs as he had likely ended up being a gore bag, otherwise the safe would've been looted already and he wouldnt have left behind 500 caps if he decided to backstab his old chum.
no, somebody else did that, and whoever did has no interest on what prime possessed, least as far as caps goes.
I actually went to the deleware agricultural museum earlier today! Can never say no to more with oxhorn though!
R.J. Gumby is also the name of a one-off character on Monty Python's Flying Circus. He was a History Professor who shouted like a looney that he was while reading his lecture. Just saying.
THIS UNIVERSE : JUST ON THE VERGE OF BEING SOMETHING... WHO DOES THAT REMIND YOU OF , good luck all hopefully we dont all die
The planetary voice recording sounds an aweful lot like graftons mayor.
I just finally found another Easter Egg in this video I don't think anyone caught on to. 9:28 Lockreed instead of Lockheed. Lockreed because of the infamous scandal of Lockheed paying other countries to buy the F-104 Starfighter. I completely forgot about that. It's cool they have the F-80 Shooting Star and the P-51 Mustang in game as well I hope in the future for Fallout they bring more historical aircraft into the game and maybe even a chance to fly.
Ah, good ol' dependable Charron...
25:26 This Rocket remind me somehow on the Updated Version of the German V-2
@37:20, #6 Space Fact. I'm surprised the people in this Universe were able to calculate how many galaxies there are in the Universe without the Hubble Space Telescope. We here really didn't know until we had Hubble working well.
I've actually been to something like the Gigantomax Theater. It was the Maryland Science Center IMAX theater where we got to watch something pretty close to the "Colonoscopy" movie Fallout had going on. It was about the digestive and body systems, and with an inside look on a gigantic screen. The special effects were both amazing and somewhat disgusting... That was an awesome trip. :)
Two minor things, one of the logs (or plaques) mentioned that that's a copy of the virgo II and also that poor mustang was from WWII so it survived 300 years before you came along! :P but as always a good video!
I have no clue if it's already been said, but the Ebon Atoll exhibit is said to a reference to Black Isle Studios, the developers of Fallout and Fallout 2. One could say that the studio was "torpedoed" by Interplay Entertainment, the original publisher of the early Fallout games.
Had never played Fallout3- your lore videos were so compelling, I just had to buy this. Great Game! Thanks OxHorn, great videos.
Am I the only one that stopped when he mentioned Fear Factory to go listen to them 😂 and said "wow they remind me of Machine Head. They're not that bad" oxhorn never stops surprising me.
+1 for Mr. B. Bell. The soul of this machine has improved.
Awwww, he missed the creepy room you have to jump onto the balcony in the rocket room to get to. :(
I can't wait for fallout 6 or NV 2
Vault 76 xD
There was a survivor from the Ebon Atoll, he was at the Beaver Creek bowling alley in Far Harbor.
I can't help but think that someone at Bethesda was inspired by Autoworld in Flint, MI when they wrote about the 2 story mock fusion engine. Autoworld had a 2 story combustion engine on display.
Isn't the vertibird you find more armored then the ones we see all over? If you pause it looks like heavier armor on the front and sides. I think it is a prototype of the next generation of vertibirds.
I so love you, man. You always come up with new stuff. And I love the fallout universe too.
It took me 3 1/2 hours real time to get there in d.c.'s labyrinth of subay tunnels. No joke.
The terminal entry for Oppenheimers' folly, mentions how you'll wish you could just "duck & cover" to avoid it all. That was the phrase used in all the old PSA videos (IRL) of the 50s for what to do in the event of a nuclear emergency, if you were caught outside of a bomb shelter. It was shown at schools & had a turtle as mascot. I thought that was an interesting tidbit they included. 😂
6:38 If you're concerned about having actual firearms on display in your museum, why don't you make them permanently inoperable first?
Because in the Fallout universe it seems the people aren't as garbage as in our own
Real world exhibits often have the mechanics inside the weapons removed. Stuff like firing pins and trigger levers can be removed without making the weapon permanently unusable. But it also makes the weapon unable to be fired by a person who picks it up at random.
The lone wanderer could take the guns and technology from museum if he wanted to
@@marhawkman303 Yes I believe that only decommissioned firearms can go on display
@@alfraser9083 Sort of? Decommissioned sometimes carries the meaning of permanence, IE you can't easily fix it to make it work.
Heya Oxhorn! Love your videos on all the Fallout Games =) Usually don't bother to post stuff but you missed a room and another secret nook in the Museum, so I thought I'd give you a heads up. They are both accessible from the big room with the Delta IX rocket and require you to be paying a lot of attention to your surroundings. Good hunting!
The gigantomax theater's volume is as loud as a (suppressed) gunshot. Imagine that constantly for the course of the colon tour, lol.
I'm sure it's already been answered, but a longer for "Zeus 12" probably meant a longer stay on the moon. Apollo 11 was just a get there get back as soon as possible mission. Later missions were much longer. The longest was Apollo 17 at nearly 12 1/2 days. Apollo 11 spent less than 24 hours on the moon, Apollo 17 more than 3 days. So perhaps "Zeus 12" spent 9 or 10 days on the moon, since the transit time, assuming Apollo-like velocity, is about 3 days, plus additional time spent in lunar orbit.
Great video. Just starting Fallout 3. Really helpful. Thank you so much.
You missed the Easter egg in the room with rocket. If you shimmy along the stairs there is a skeleton with some loot
Awesome video, I know there is a lot to look at there, you did miss the door you have to jump to get into by the big rocket.
This is cool I live in Manteo, (it’s where the lost colony landed) it’s right across the bridge from whale bone (a junction in nags head) and if I go to the north end of my island I can see the Wright monument
I love the fact that you're making videos about Fallout 3 lore. I don't own that game (and even if I did, I don't think I would be able to run it on my computer) so I wouldn't know all these stuff if it wasn't for you. All the things you say put events in Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 in a new perspective.
Maera Fey why would you not be able to run fallout 3 if you can run fallout 4
I know this is an old thread but did you know there are 2 hidden spots in the Delta IX room? One is on the 1st landing before going upstairs you can jump over the railing and walk along the ledge towards the light and there's a little nook on the left. The second is on the second landing, also before the staircase going up, jump over the railing and walk along the ledge on the wall, there's a room with some scrap and some skeletons on the left.
Those heads on the walls, the metal ones, the eyes, it's the same eyes from Dunwich Borers, the eyes in the bottom of the water.
In response to the vertibird date inconsitancy with fallout 4, my personal explanation is that because boston was a technological hub, maybe they were the pioneers behind the vertibird technology, and it's possible that the Boston army garrison were the first to recieve prototype models for field testing.
I just want to say that I think the Vault-Tec among the stars(from the Nuka-World dlc for Fallout: 4) is Vault 10 from the mini seres Fallout: Nuka-Break therefore creating the tale of "The Vault filled with Nuka-Cola" in many fan-made stories and the games themselves.
Getting there from the subways is hell
When I was in D.C. I could see the Super Mutants when I traveled down the mall.
Aircraft development is apparently always many years ahead of the public releases, maybe the same is true in the Fallout universe
Ox, you missed a reference to one of Monty Python's most famous reoccurring characters. The man lecturing about "Oppenheimer's folly" R.J. Gumbie, is named after professor R.J. Gumby, one of the famous Gumbies: the mentally challenged gentlemen wearing handkerchiefs on their heads.
I think some things after the Fallout Timeline's Divergence (music, events, places, ships, etc.) still happen, like how some of the music that plays on the Radios is from the 60's, there's probably other technologies invented after the Fallout Divergence but it escapes me what.
Love your videos dude, appreciate the effort you put into them.
The R91 5.56×45 assault rifle, Is a Spanish CETME 7.62×51mm. It's totally unmodified from it's real world counterpart. They didn't even change the dimensions to fit the narrative that it's 5.56. It still has the gigantic 7.62mm 20rd magazine.
Small detail you might have overlooked: Prime mentioned "the good old days" which would imply prewar. If that's the case, then Prime and Javes may likely have been ghouls? Anyways brilliant covering of this landmark. Playing TTW mod which combines FO3 and all of it's DLC as a massive DLC into NV. So have quite a ways to go before getting here. lol. Looking forward to your adventuring in the Pitt. Keep up the great work Oxhorn!
That music at the end is very Are You Afraid Of The Dark? . Where are my late 80s kids who watched it on Snick?
Hey Ox you missed a room in the rocket room. You have to jump over the railing to a lower platform on the second or third floor. There's a guns and bullets magazine in there I'm pretty sure.
Apollo 11 was the shortest of the missions to land on the moon, with them only spending a short time on the surface. Each subsequent Apollo mission, barring 13, spent longer and longer on the moon. This culminated in Apollo 17 with its 12 day mission. Not quite the 17 mentioned here, but the Zeus program takes place well after the divergence and isn't remotely comparable to Apollo. There are several lunar programs mentioned in the museum of history, and the Delta IX launched the most contemporary of them.
It's also of note that the dates given for historic missions are mostly accurate even post-divergence. Carl Bell's flight on May 5 1961 mirrors Alan Shepard's "Freedom 7," the flag recovered from the Valiant 12 mission mentions that it was planted on November 14, 1969, the launch date for Apollo 12.
Also, there's some clear propaganda and story-pushing with Carl Bell. An orbit around the earth takes 90 minutes, for example. It's quite possible that post-divergence, the US got into the revisionist history business, inflating their achievements until the populace turned a 15 minute ballistic flight into an orbital one. And considering dates line up, I'm more than certain there was a Soviet up there first, just like in our timeline. They wouldn't contest it if there wasn't something to contest, after all.
I mean that or the writers got somethin' wrong because orbital mechanics are complicated and i guess they didn't feel it necessary to look it up
Another thing is that the Virgo II Lander is designed after the Soviet's own LK Lunar Lander. IRL it was tested in Earths orbit, but never went to the moon. And yet, here in Fallout it's America's successful moon lander. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LK_(spacecraft)
That was certainly deliberate, though i'm not sure if it was nothing more than a "gotcha" to space nerds or if there was some statement they were making with it.
I ❤ Fallout.
I have been waiting all morning Ox.
Jericho was my favorite follower in F3 for reasons i really dont know. I know hes an ex raider but i always hired him and then went full "wasteland Santa Claus"
I really hope you cover Jericho, Oxhorn
I'm sure this had to have been mentioned by someone else but I just haven't seen it: The Valliant 11 Lunar Lander of the Fallout universe is a dead ringer for the Soviet Lunar Lander from our (real) timeline.
(I've seen the Soviet Lander twice, in 1992 and 1997, up close and personal. I was even able to crawl all over it. It was AWESOME! ) The Soviet lander was only large enough for one person and this one was supposed to be for three, but it doesn't seem much larger. Of course, the Soviets never made it to the moon in our timeline, so what I saw never left Earth.
I also noticed a similarity to "USSA" in Fallout and "USSR" in the real world.
I never expected Oxhorn to be a fan of Fear Factory
You are great because you help us in the games like in fallout 3,fallout new veges and fallout 4
