    I have had my jet boil going close to 10 years now and it's still going strong, even the igniter. Just used it this weekend. I have also used the pot without the insulator with my alcohol stove and the heat exchanger on the bottom really helps with boil times. I also have the french press adaptor and when traveling I will sometimes make myself coffee at a rest top using it.

    your £5 item is £7.95! inflation!!!!.....but I agree about the jet boil. I use a slightly older one, but pretty much the same, and its brilliant. Yes it a little more bulky and heavy than other options, but its utterly reliably, works in all conditions, is stable and safe, and is incredibly efficient to boil water in compared to other options. Its just a no hassle, brilliant piece of kit. If I need to save a few hundred grams of weight, I can do it elsewhere.

    Thanks for this review. I have been looking at this as have had the Jetboil Flash for a number of years and it serves me well. The larger pot is actually what has attracted me to this as I find the flash to be a tad small to cook directly in.
    Not sure you meant to but your secret item is the Jetboil gas, Maybe duplicated link?

      Thanks for checking it out mate!! Yes sorry about that I’ve just fixed the link! Really appreciate you letting me know about that! So many of these things slip through the cracks! Here’s there link for quick reference again :

      Honestly the size of this stove is ACE I think it’s that perfect medium most of us are looking for 💪

    I am sure the thing works well.
    I can tell, by experience from years in the woods, that the product does it's job.
    For me, I do not care for getting stuck with proprietary equipment that only works for itself.
    I like flexibility.

    Just get a Soto Windmaster an a Toaks 750 or 1100ml pot (dependin if you want small or large canister) & buy jet boil tiangle stand seperately. Then you have a cheaper, lighter & more powefull set up which is far more compact

      I admit the jet boil stan is good, just think combing best gea to make best cook set is way forward, jet boil is stillusing 1990s tech when things have advanced a lot.

    It’s proved a great stove , such a shame a small can, the burner and pan support doesn’t fit in the pot successfully, what a design flaw. Atb

    what about the the ignition system, and the melted plastic around, what's the origin of the problem, any solution ?

    You’re paying £130 for the burner and a ti mug. The plastic covers and plastic canister legs cost pennies! I have lots of these little things. Only real Jetboil problem is that it is bulky!!! Too bulky for a multi day bike packing, or back packing trip, I wouldn’t want to have to carry it, but for an overnighter it’s ok. A trip to the beach? Great!
    Picnics? Great! Don;t waste your money on the pans, ( I did, I bought the fry pan!). they are well overpriced and are nothing special. There ya go, an honest review.

      The whole point of this system is it uses half the gas of most other separate stove pot systems. So it is designed and is better for multi day hikes the longer the less gas carried and any extra weight is offset by gas weight savings, these were designed to be suspended for rock climbers etc I use mine a lot, sure if I’m heading into the woods I take stainless steel to cook on fires, titanium is lighter but I use that with my heavier liquid fuel winter stoves. To say it is too bulky is insane what do you think people on arctic expedition’s carry a 550 toaks and a BRS? This weighs less than 400 grams that’s nothing and it’s just big enough to boil a coffee and make a meal it’s barely larger than my MSR titan which is the minimum I would take on a multi day for fuel saving kept out of the wind these are worth it.

    Just don't ever buy a Jetboil Stash! Minimo looks great, especially in windy conditions.
    David about to take two months off!!! I'll get in at least 4 ridiculous alpine hikes in with major views!

    I got the Minimo and consider it the worst piece of kit I ever bought !
    Like it or not its much, much bulkier than most other stoves.
    Its the least versatile stove on the market, and one of the most expensive.
    If you cook a meal in the pot, then how do you then quickly boil some water for a drink, your pot has the food in it ?
    If you take that very flimsy, badly fitting pan adapter then you need a pot that fits it, and its and other piece of kit to fail or get lost !
    Lets not forget it is also top heavy and slightly unstable, even with the stabiliser attached.

    • @d.Cog420
      @d.Cog420 Před rokem

      Finally a comment that doesn't rave about it, nothing is perfect. I was also wondering if it leaves a slight taste of food behind if you boil water next for a drink? Even after cleaning, oil, for one thing is really hard to completely clean off when camping.

    • @dublinvids5146
      @dublinvids5146 Před 10 měsíci +4

      Buy an extra pot, or transfer food to a boel, as you would have to with any similar system.
      Honestly, some people just looking for issues.

    • @Chris66able
      @Chris66able Před 10 měsíci

      @@dublinvids5146 Hilarious, so just buy any other bowl like you can for MOST other kits , or a specific bowl to fit, honestly some people don't understand concepts like, compact, all in one, or complete cook kit ! Can you imagine being that thick !

    • @dublinvids5146
      @dublinvids5146 Před 10 měsíci

      @@Chris66able You're the idiot as the MinoMo comes with a bowl, so put the food you cooked in that and if you now want to boil water. You're moaning about nothing.
