It is so interesting that she is referring to you as 'friend' and herself as 'cat', not just 'mom' and 'Billi'. She is expanding her idea of self and others. Fascinating!
I would add on a hypothesis that she is also testing to see to which gets her the quickest response for her needs 😂

Maybe "cat" is also just easier to press on? The "Billi" button is still the big one and might require more strength to press.

Haha I had to replay the swearing a few times! I already knew how to swear in several human languages, however the fact that I now also can swear in Cat is pretty amazing, I'm going to make use of it as much as I can!

I have seen her use "friend" before when asking for something. It just made me more convinced that she is using it as a "can you please help me with this" OR in this case...a somewhat snarky "can you KINDLY do the thing you promised me earlier". Cause it WOULD be kinda UNfriendly of you not to keep your promises..you know

Oh yes, the curse words. I hear them twice a day from my tuxedo cat when I hold her to poke her pill down. You would think after 8 years if doing it that she wouldn't feel the need to use such language, but she's what my vet calls a "cat with an attitude" and must express her feelings every time.
Billi is such a sweet girl I still can't believe she's 14. Our eldest baby went to rainbow bridge last week. She just turned 15 we think she had a stroke because we woke up and she couldnt move and was struggling to meow every time she tried to walk she flopped around like a rag doll it was really hard to see. We spent the whole day trying to keep her from noving and hurting her self further while we gathered the money to put her down so she wasn't like that for days. Vet took one look and said that it wad the right decision and she wasn't going to come back from whatever happened to her. God we miss her get so much.

@@luvcatscatscatsCATS kaliegh was a calico that my mom got from my aunt at 8 weeks. Even though she was moms gift she became a major daddy girl with my dad she slept in his lap every night he has been struggling to sleep now until my cat ozzy lays on him in the middle of night. he's taking it the hardest out of all of us. Even though it had been years since she actually did it I still see her climbing the Christmas trees and attacking ribbons when she was young. She also loved to beg for food when we were cooking even though we only give her a scrap on special occasions as a treat. chicken and pig skins were her favorite next to friskes wet food. I myself feel like I lost my little sister I was 9 when we got her and I'm 25 now she would've turned 16 around mother's day. She always curled up in my lap during rainstorms purring and kneeding though she started doing that less this last year because she had started to go blind and prefer to stay in the living room and dining room area where we kept the food and litter box.she also had the most beautiful fur in the winter but would lose half of it due to kitty excema in summer. Our vet sent her last kiss and paw print on a card in the mail that had all of us crying. My father was the one who took her to be put down because my mom and i have health conditions that get worse when we are worked up and upset and we were already having complications from seeing her suffering. So we said our goodbyes at home and dad chose to have her cremated since he was worried seeing her body after would make us worse he was right since just seeing her nose print on that beautiful card had us upset for awhile. But now we have it framed and are trying to remember happy memories instead of that awful last day. We believe she a kitten again playing with her brothers who past before her waiting to see us again one day.
@@tiffanyverbeck7041 Thank you for sharing about Kaliegh! She sounds like an extremely important member of the family. I have never heard of a nose print give out as post-death image. I have many clay footprints and fur clippings from past cremations. Yes, it can be so, so hard to get past the last images/memories of the struggle around death. Looking at photos of happier times with her may help. So glad you wrote what you did, thanks for sharing!

What a roller coaster of feelings! But we have to remember she’s both a cat and a Queen have certain standards that her subjects has to meet. She can also be graceful and forgiving if she gets the proper responds. She wields both the whip (Mad button) and the carrot (Love you) and she isn’t afraid of using them!😉

So I guess that anyone who thinks that if your animal is annoyed when you leave for work, that they forget about it while you're gone, now knows that is just not true. I wish my dad was still here to witness these journeys.
My first black lab would give my Mom the silent treatment for days, after she returned home from vacation. And that is a hard task for a Lab because they are so gregarious by nature. But as soon as she pulled into the driveway, he would make eye contact with her and then literally turn his back to her😂 And he would do that every time she came into the room he was in.
It would go on for days sometimes. He would only stop when my Mom would take his face into her hands and sharply say, "That's enough pouting now!" And then give him some pets and sweet worss. And then he would reluctantly give her a half-hearted tail wag. His level of bitterness and pettiness regarding her vacations was epic (and he didn't do it for the rest of us🤷♀️😂).

Does she have a nickname? My cat Houdini has the nickname Bunny-butt, cause he has a very short stump of a tail & it's fluffy white, also he was born around Easter.

I made a friend with an amazing cat recently, and on one of the nice spring days, we literally took the cat on a walk around the block. No leash, she just kept up about 5 ft behind us the whole way. It was a stunning experience.
In January, a friendly and curious stray cat turned up in our garden. She was more tame than the other strays and would come up to us and watch us doing garden work.
Sadly we had to have her captured for the TNR program by our local animal shelter, because she would otherwise have had babies and increased the stray cat population again.
Maybe she was friendly enough that they can rehome her, but if they release her again, she might still not continue to visit us. The other cats that got TNRed in our garden didn't come back. Probably because the experience traumatized them a little. They really hate being trapped in metal cages by giants. Poor things.
Even if she doesn't come back, I hope knowing you helped make her life longer and healthier by having her spayed helps! Thank you!

If I could have any ability in the world, it would be to know what goes on in an animals mind/how they think and percieve the world. It's fascinated me more than anything.

I’d love to hear from any scientists about this. It’s been the standard idea for a long time that cats and dogs lack self awareness and don’t really know how to communicate the way we do yet I watch these videos and that notion is challenged daily
The footage of Billi is sent off to researchers, along with footage from other pets and owners, so one day we should get to hear more about what the analysis shows!
I feel like the whole progression leading up to when she finally pressed fan toy was her attempting to give hints but refusing to actually say it because she wanted you to remember lol

I still have to wonder if her pressing "Mad" in conjunction with somebody's name is an approximation of saying she misses them. Perhaps she was trying to express that it's been too long since she's seen some of the other people you've introduced her to. Just a guess, though.
I still think that "Miss" might be a useful word to introduce to her vocabulary.
Or a word combo. From how I've seen her use it, "Mad" seems to mean some equivalent of "frustrated" to Billie. "Want" is pretty straightforward useage. Combined might be a good equivalent for "miss" and easier for her to grasp.
Ie: "Mad-want" would be "a frustrated wanting" "a unfulfilled wanting" or closer to what we'd say... "missing xyz thing/person".
