Survivor of Hamas' Barbaric Oct. 7 Attack Has a New Life Mission

- On Oct. 7, Adele Raemer survived the Hamas attacks in her kibbutz Nirim on the border with Gaza only to find herself and her extended family displaced, refugees of a kind in their own country. She's now advocating for the release of the hostages still being held captive in Gaza, several of whom she knew personally including Nadav Popplewell and Yagev Buchshtav.
Born in the U.S., Raemer arrived in Israel in 1973, served with the Israeli Defense Forces and then began teaching school children at Nirim in 1975. She continued her classroom career there for almost 40 years while raising her children and then enjoying her grandchildren.

I was in tears when listening to this lady! People don’t know history and don’t set their foot on the outside of their own country, really don’t have any ideas about Middle Eastern culture
Unfortunately, westerners who are ignorant of the world outside of their own doorsteps have had a disproportionate influence over the affairs of the rest of the world for decades already. The same dynamic of vocal and brainwashed westerners protesting about things they have no experience of played out again and again in the 1960's, 70's and 80's.

I just wish that people like this lady would stop telling the world how they helped the Gazans and fought for peace... As an Israeli myself, I fully share the horrors of that day, but I keep wondering whether the Israeli left realises NOW that peace with this kind of neighbours is IMPOSSIBLE, unfortunately.
Yes; they were very naive. I don't understand why; they knew that the people of Gaza had elected Hamas. They must have known how all-pervasive the presence of Hamas was in Gaza, their propaganda and their total control of the educational system. How could they really trust anyone who'd grown up under that? Not to sound cruel, but it makes no more sense than allowing someone with a deadly and highly contagious disease into your home, and near your family and children. Altruism cannot supersede self-preservation, and protection of one's own family, community, and country.

How tragic that you believed in the innocence of the majority but now realize that there were very few innocent Gazans. Why do so many Jews forget God in the midst of this? So many testimonies with no mention of the God of Israel who calls Israelites the apple of His eye. I agree with everything she said and appreciate her testimony taking her warnings very seriously. I pray for Israel to turn back to God and receive the Messiah Jesus Christ as the Savior from God. Because these colonists are not religious. They were given the stolen land that had owners. If your entire family was kicked out of your home and property and could only take what you could carry while walking. No compensation. All the while knowing someone like me was given the house, property and all its possession by a story only I believed so that MY house, MY property and MY possession were always mine by ancient right regardless who may have been there for 100s of years. How would you react while living hand to mouth in crowded lving quarter with no opportunites. With militiary watching your every move, your children taken and questioned just becaseu they can. But don't worry, me with all the opportunities, my house, my property, my possession will drive you to appointments once you get through humiliating checkpoints, then I will also talk to you about God adn how below my status you are. That isn't kindness, it's hate.
