    I can understand liking this stand and I have already found a way to quite everything down for in the woods for the clips two pieces of heavey surgical tubing over the lock clip will do the trick or you can paint them with flex seal if you like which ever is easier as for the chain I would do three coats of flex seal black over the plastic chain seal to cure that problem as for where the ratchet strap hooks in on the upright support bar I would drill two holes opposite each other instead of on the back of the platform and seat portion where the teeth bite into the bark of the tree it would make it easier to attach and safer for the hunter also I would add two adjustable straps that would also attach to the seat to. To keep it from falling to the ground and leaving a hunter stranded.

    Was on the fence about this one. Tired of hang ons and for the place i hunt, and the way i hunt, i have to move quite a bit. This is exactly what i needed. Thanks for your review!

    Never worried about stand noise it’s never affected my hunts but that’s me. Tho I picked up a older version of this stand for $50. I just couldn’t see passing it up. Never used the chain system so it will be interesting so see how it does.

    Great reviews on the videos I've seen you do. Can you do a review on a buckshot equalizer. The adjustable tree stand. That would be awesome.

    I’ve got a big negative. I’ve always used Summit climbers and I bought an API Outdoor “The Quest” with the bigger seat and holy crap dude.. the “backpacking” portion of this set up is ridiculous. I’ve never had problems figuring out how to do it or putting the foot piece on top of the sitting piece but good lord this one doesn’t make any sense.
    Wanna do a review over this API Quest.??

    Great review, you should know that the newer models have rubber coating on the pins. Much quieter. How do I know? Just bought one :)

    And suggestions on how you pack this stand up? I’ve owned a ton of API stands over the years and all the older models. The top slips inside the bottom and they pack out nicely. The newer stands must have been designed by a Ford Engineer. Love a link or some info if anyone has any suggestions on how they pack theirs together for transport.

    I bought a replacement seat for my older API. Those seat buckles are noisy.

    My brother has one. How in the world do you keep the sidearms from moving back and forth laterally? And what is the exact position for the foot straps? I have had a summit and xop climbers and no problems. I feel like a complete moron but can not for the life of me keep the arms on the platform to stay put. Anybody have this problem? It's an api marksman

    Does the cable chains already have holes in them where the pin would go through or do you have to make your own holes

    • @CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors
      @CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors  Před 2 lety +1

      It comes with holes

    • @caseywilson5527
      @caseywilson5527 Před 2 lety

      Ok. So if you get the tubing replaced will I have to cut my own holes? I just bought an older model api from a buddy of mine and there is literally only one hole on each cable. So I don't know how to adjust the stand on the tree if I can't put my pin through a hole

      That’s odd this one has hole in the band! But you should be able to poke holes if you need them

      Ok thanks. I know when they are new they have holes in them from factory but I also know you can get replacement shrink tubes but there's no holes after putting them on
