You have been there from the very beginning and so your balanced perspective is great to hear. You are able to see things as they are instead of being blinded by nostalgia. A lot of people that complain about scarlet and violet product is due to cost. They still comepate it to sword and shield days where you open product and can sell the pulls for a few hundred dollars. Maybe they look at the cost of the booster box or the top cards and say they are not as expensive as the top cards in sword and shield. The cards in sword and shield were harder to pull and the sets came out during the COVID boom. All sets can start low but eventually they go up as time goes on. If you buy a $ 90 booster box and hold it for 5 years, I would be shocked if you don’t at least double your money. The artwork in the scarlet and violet beat every other series in my personal opinion. Great content as always.
Half the people in pokemon always hate the newest generation. It just happens. So when a set is pure brand new gen 9 and nothing else, the people who don't like gen 9 wouldn't want it all.

Don't sleep on rainbow rares. I think in 2-3 years from now, people will realise how sweet those rainbow glitter foil cards are.same art as the VMAX. But the rainbow treatment is so sick on many of them. It doesn't suit all of them so well, but I'm bullish that people will come around

It's their favorite pokemon. These aren't just random characters in a video game. Or brand new pokemon. These are characters we have obsessed over for almost 30 years. And these are the best cards we have gotten so of course everybody wants their favorite pokemon in the new cards. The people who spend the money aren't kids. Collectors always come first in pokemon, then the kids and players. They also choose not to reprint stuff, so it does good in the secondary market. That's why pokmeon is number 1. They do a good job at trying to make everyone happy.
I can’t stand the cgi looking full arts in sun and moon. SV will be the best era since wotc. The one thing I will never understand is the popularity of the paradox pokemon. They look goofy. A giraffe railkou is dumb haha
Yea I'm not the biggest fan of the new paradox pokemon. Some are okay but it just feels cheap and lazy. Yea I agree though. I really think pokemon has something huge planned

I got into collecting cards after play SV. The artwork is amazing, but I think people complain about value in the short term
