Went to High School with Dare. He's the definition of hard work paying off.
Started football as a junior in high school, walked on at Wisconsin. Walked on at Wisconsin 2 years later. Sat behind Monte Ball, Melvin Gordon, Corey Clement, and James White. He learned from some of the best college RBs of all time.
He was named the Special Teams captain as a rookie in Tampa Bay, so clearly his work ethic is being noticed. The best ability is availability, and Dare Ogunbowale is always there when he's needed.
I was trying to figure out why his name was so familiar. Completely forgot we drafted him
Hey thanks for the post really adds to the story
Seems like a good guy to have in the room.
I remember when he was at Wisconsin, there was a play where Stave got concussed, and didn’t have the mental faculties to know to spike the ball, and Ogunbowale got under center, took the snap, and spiked the ball.
Omg thanks for reminding me that Stave existed haha. Like you reopened a core memory
thats really badass
One of the best Texans games Ive ever seen. Overall a fun battle between Tampa and Houston
Awesome game!
This and the bills playoff game are my favorites
@@ericsilver9401 people won't want to admit it but DW4 gave us some special moments. I also cherish the Bengals game that got us in the playoffs
@@Tejano_Sports I’m in full agreement, that whole situation destroyed me since DW was my idol and I had multiple signed jerseys from him. In the end though we’ve got a dawg in cj so future is looking bright
Jags game 2012 was special
"he can sell food in the stadium if you need him to" 😂
One time my car leaking oil like crazy and Ogunbowale saw me stranded at a gas station. He proceeded to fix my engine with his bare hands. I was so thankful for his help that day plus he saved me some money. This guy is the real deal.
The show has been pretty much the same since they moved to ESPN. One thing I have noticed is they went from making fun of the WNBA to promoting it often
When did they ever make fun of the WNBA?
What....no way! Yeah. Changes are subtle but noticable if you know.
ESPN has been force feeding WNBA content for the last year or two. It hasn’t made me any more interested in watching them if anything it puts me off. I never realized how entitled and obnoxious these WNBA women acted until ESPN shined the spotlight on them. They can push that league all they want people aren’t stupid they see girls missing wide open lay ups and very little athleticism. Good for them I hope they keep it going and that league grows into something one day but until then the coverage ESPN is giving them is clearly out of sympathy it is the furthest thing from equality
@@DaneOrschlovskyreach
I’m glad there is still an 1hr just on CZcams where they can say what they want, that’s a major + tbh
For the Brand! Shout Out to all the people, front lines and behind the scenes making this thing happen. Love what you’ve been putting out into the world!
I’ve been waiting for this segment since first I heard the Texans were going to play a running back at kicker.
Folks already forget Justin Reid kicked a PAT and boomed 4 kickoffs last year in the Chiefs 1st game?
Former Texan
@@UGKxBatman25 didn't even think about that. full circle!
yeah hes got a big leg actually
Most swag a kicker has ever had lol. Dude is awesome
In my opinion the most impressive moment in NFL history was James Harrison's 100 yard touchdown return at the end of the first half of the Steelers-Cardinals Super Bowl
more so then the Brady to Edelman catch, where he had to double grab it???
just the first one that came to my mind after reading ur comment.....
That play changed the entire game
As a Steelers nut I can appreciate that !
Facts
Only reason I remember it so well was I had the SB square before the TD so I was super pumped cause I’m thinking “no way this man returns it 100 yards, that’s ez money!”
But he just kept going…and going…and damnit
Would love the special teams coach to give an honest interview.. “I did NOT think that fieldgoal was going in. I was shocked and lost my mind when he made it”
That has to be one of the most impressive mullets I've ever seen since 1984.
I thought it was the flying Hawaiian moving into the C-gap, or timing multiple snaps, or intercepting everything...literally just anything he did was the most impressive moment of all time
troy p isn’t hawaiian
I think you mean the hair flowin Samoan.
You really have to go back to the Steelers game where their long snapper was hurt and they had james harrison doing the long snapping. Literally snapped one 30 yards through the back of the end zone. They lost the game because of the safety and not being able to kick FGs the whole game.
John Mobely who played Linebacker for the Broncos used to kickoff in college and was a running back on 2 point conversions.
Texans FB Beck returned that kickoff baby lol let’s go Texans killing it all over the place
“The boy will fill up the Gatorade cooler, walk the dog, and paint your back porch…..And he can pass!”
Knew this was coming lol
Lawrence Taylor coming in the game with a hurt shoulder and taking the game over winning it for the Giants on MNF. That was the most impressive thing imo. He caused fumbles, sacked, intercepted and scored it was unreal.
There’s a reason guys like this stay in the league for years
An athlete and not a head problem. They do what they are asked for and don’t ask questions.
He has become a full hero down in here in Texas. I would jump on a grenade for this man 🤣
Doug Flutie's drop kick just left the chat.
He literally called his sister a Dog!!! 😂😂😂
Yeah not many realize the mechanics the difference between Kickers and Punters. I think the most crossover would be if someone was a Goalkeeper in soccer as they do both styles.
Cam just came off injury and the coaches did not want to risk re-injury by place kicking.
The issue is that Johnston played Aussie Rules and not that he's Australian. Rugby penalty and conversion kicks are off a tee or sand if you're weird.
Perfect kickoff specialist with the new rules
Not historic, but deserves all the respect and attention. Great game.
Dare’s sister must be Arike Ugunbawale, clutched 2 buzzer beaters in 48 hours to upset Uconn in the final 4 and then beat MSU to win the National championship. Haven’t seen any wnba but what a run in college ball, I think she got to be on the other end of a buzzer beater in the national championship the following year so she had the full run of emotions
He should be special teams player of the week.
kickin off and making a field goal with that nfl swag visor on ayyyyy
I’m loving the Texans talk recently 🤘🏼
RBs were always the best punters on the team, we just weren’t going to risk getting taken out on a block
This was electric dude stepped up big time
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK FELLAS✊
We will never see anything like Devin Hester again and it's a damn shame cause it was so fun to watch.
Texans punter Cam Johnson went into a Australian scrum mode trying to steal the football away from the Buccaneers.
Playing against the New England Patriots on October 10, 2004, Wes Welker became the second player in NFL history to return a kickoff and a punt, kick an extra point and a field goal, and make a tackle in a single game.
also - makes sense to have punters take over kickoffs, but it's harder with FGs since they are usually the experienced holders
Pat, can we get some of the best soccer players do a fg challenge???????
The placeholder had the ball at an angle too.
Trace Armstrong, a DE, kicked one game for the Bears in the late 80's when their kicker (Kevin Butler, a converted DB) got hurt. The Bears equipment manager had to bring a special kicking shoe for Armstrong to every game in the off chance he would need it
Fitting that this happened with a Houston team. George Blanda played both QB and kicker for the Oilers in the 60’s.
His heritage is Nigerian so I am pretty sure he played soccer at some point! Soccer is like a religion down there and in the Nigerian communities in the US and UK!
they should have adopted the 1 point rouge from the CFL and apply it to fair catching kickoffs.
You are wrong about Morstead Pat, I went to Highschool with Thomas Morstead. He was a devoted soccer player in Highschool. Even more so than football. He was our 3rd string kicker
Kicking is actually one of the hardest skills in the NFL.
Relatively speaking, no it’s not.
@@jimlahey3919
"Relatively speaking, no it’s not."
Human upper limbs have are capable of fine motor skills than the lower limbs.
Just think, which is harder (in a normal human being), learning to perform surgery with the upper limbs or the lower limbs?
No pat you had the most swag as a kicker
I always wonder why more teams dont have QB punters. Was it Cunningham or McNabb with a ridiculous punt?
Cunningham
Kordell Stewart punted back when he was with the Steelers
All about control for the show ( game).
I was waiting for that segment :D
Surprised Pat didn’t point out that the holder is also very important, if the punter is the holder and he has to kick then you need someone to hold. In this case they had a guy they felt comfortable with kicking so it makes sense they wouldn’t disrupt 2 parts of the operation.
He probably would not have been on the squad if Dameon Pierce was not injured too. Wild
Likely the very first time a fantasy player put up both rushing and kicking points
Justin Ried, Safety from the Chiefs stepped in several times for Butker last year early in the year.
Texans punter missed several games this year due to injury. Did not want to ask him to do something unfamiliar and risk losing another guy
Titans fan here. CJ Stroud is the real deal. AFC South is gonna be tough to handle!
Everyone forgetting Jeff heath LB kicking for dallas?
we just gonna act like ochocinco didnt already do this?
I can think of many more impressive moments, just in kicking alone. Rookie walk-on Wes Welker slot receiver for Miami Dolphins kicked a field goal and extra point against the Patriots. Patriots liked him and traded for him. He had 99.5 yard reception against Miami. Became Brady's first famous slot receiver. Leading the league in receptions in 2007, 2009, 2011. 5 time pro bowler. 17,000 career yards. 16 NFL records. Many punt returns for TDs. Set NCAA records for punt return TDs & yards.
He was a soccer player in high school, still impressive. First thing I thought was this dude played soccer back in the day there is no doubt!
What does this mean for my fantasy team
I was gonna ask the same thing. He’s gotta get the points, right?
Dude is going to have a long career in the NFL because he is versatile, talented family .....
Justin Reid has entered the chat
Kickers and Punters have such skewed views of bravery in NFL games. This guy kicked a FG with nothing to lose, literally.
I don’t want to hear any talk of Carlton Davis being underrated anymore. Dude gave up 3 touchdowns to the Texans. Two to a rookie receiver.
Pat is excite with great release!
Absolutely insane
Love It Pat ThePatMcAfeeShow Bro Let's Gooooooooo.
What about when Ocho Cinco kicked the extra point?
He did, but not in a clutch game.
@@cperkins5050yall be haters😂
Watch live 😊
nah fitzpatrick throwing that bomb while getting facemasked is
It’s like when chad Johnson did it for the bengals back in the day
Him and Justin Reid need a kicking contest
I mean, CJ Stroud just reset the NFL rookie passing record in a game, with 470 yds and 5 TDs. But yeah, Dare is an impressive player.
they talked lots about Stroud
Yall be miserable
You left one out, if you don't return it, no risk of injury to the return man. Allegedly, it's one of the reasons they adjusted the kick off spot.
Justin Reid had to do the same last year when butker tweaked his ankle in the opening game of the year for the chiefs.
He can block, tackle, score the TD, snap the ball, hold the snap, & kick the extra point. Hell, the boy will fill up the Gatorade cooler, walk the dog, & paint your back porch. The boy can flat out play football...AND HE CAN PASS!
Jack dempsey half foot 63 yarder😄🇨🇦🇺🇸
ON WISCONSIN
Need him on this week
Dare was only active because Pierce was hurt. Sorry, Pierce, but we appreciate you making way for Dare to be in this game.
You'll never believe which kicker I started in fantasy lol...glad it worked out for the Texans though
sad part Fair been money all year. so starting him make sense. till he get hurt. and how often do kicker get hurt. not often but somehow the texan kickers been hurt this year. the punter earlier in the season and now fair
Love kickers 😂🔥🇨🇦🇺🇸
Get him in the show
Oh please. Justin Reid did this last year for KC week 1.
🔥😆🇨🇦🇺🇸live for moments like this 🌐
loudest place i ever was sunday at NRG love the texans fans
Running backs and Kicker please 😂😎🇨🇦🇺🇸
@ThePatMcAfeeShow what if they change the role fair catch or out of the back of the end zone on kickoffs the ball is placed on the 15. To even it out more yard on offense
Justin Reid did that last year I believe. I’m thinking he made a kick or two when he was with Houston.
bro runs like brandon bolden
Great show.
This new wave of fair catching makes me miss pacman jones… that mfer was never waving that arm
Lol nope, he was going to try to make some magic
@@manuelhernandez2017 facts it was literally sometimes mentioned by the commentary teams “will pacman fair catch this” lmao i believe he retired with 0 fair catches
They give you the ball at the 25. Take it.
I’m liking your show 🤘🏽
Fair catching kickoffs has changed the game and taken away from game-changing moments. Desmond Howard Super Bowl comes to mind.
Dare to be great
Justin Reid has blocked a FG and made one... more impressive
