I use my Quest 3 every day - playing Synth Riders for fitness. Started in Dec and I now play at Master level. :). This has been a game changer for me. I'm 62 and this is the first time in my life I've been excited to "move". I hope that developers will keep us older folks in mind when they make games. We have time and many of us have the money!

I got a close friend a quest 2 due to the price drop and she says it's helping her mental health with getting more exercise and going to various worlds to temporarily escape in vr chat!

I mainly have been using it for gaming but lately have been plugging into my pc to do work. I like having the Multiple screens placed do wish I had a different background than the white grid and the occasional screen glitch. Haven't thought of trying to do work through browser but it does make watching videos while doing laundry entertaining.

Have you tried Immersed? It allows up to five screens and has different environments, tracked or passthrough keyboards, and other nice features.
I waited like two weeks for V64, updated yesterday then immediately it updated to V65, havent checked change log yet

It would be cool if they support the controllers as trackers with multimodal, like putting them to track your legs in vr chat and use your hands as controllers since full body tracking isnt available on standalone

How are you getting that full room mapping? Mine never seems to leave the floor ? Sorry new to meta.
It should do the full room if you're doing a game like Demeo in mixed reality because it needs to find surfaces to set the game board on. Even this morning I did my room setup to play VR, then once I opened Demeo it brought me back and did a much more detailed mapping.
I dunno about you guys, but what I noticed is, v64 boots up the system way faster than before. You know, when you see the three dots loading in the middle of the screen... that goes away way, way faster...

Checking out the new 8k 180 degree videos is neat but I keep getting moments of extreme VAC (Vergence Accomodation Conflict) that take me out of it

I am thinking of maybe buying a beatsaber musicpack, but that is because I don't know if it is save to sideload songs. I do have sidequest, because that is supported and save, but online I see a lot that sideloading stuff in games like beat saber is a grey area and I don't know if it would be smart to do that.
It's technically "not ok" but tons of people do it without issue. The main problem is every time the game updates it breaks it all again so you have to redo it a lot or stop the app from updating.
Bought 2 music packs for beat saber. Daft punk and linkin park.
Love them, but got pissed off as I can’t use them on my other quest for some co-op action. Wish they did the multiplayer dlc like Paradox does. Host shares to all.
I have spent more money on Beat Saber than I did on Minecraft!! (I think I bought minecraft like 9 times now between PC, bedrock, Java, Pocket, Gear VR, PSVR and then multiple copies to all play together simultaneously)
For anyone who cares my breakdown for Beat Saber is:
PSVR1 copy originally, then EVERY music pack that released for it's first two years because you couldn't get custom songs.
Then I got it on Oculus for my Rift, but mostly did custom songs and not paying for the standard music packs.
Then I bought it for Steam and just a few music packs I was still mostly doing Mixed Reality (wished I had bought it first for steam and never Oculus)
Then the Quest came out and it wasn't cross buy from Rift so I bought it AGAIN!!! I ended up buying every music pack on Quest also because custom songs were more of a pain and I took the headset places to let people try VR so I wanted the most variety. I also bought it on another headset so we could do VS... I have probably spent near $1000 on Beat Saber by now... they GOT ME GOOD!!! Got eeeemm!
Meta still needs to improve their passthrough quality for the Quest 3. It's much better but still pretty grainy.

I have a 12 feet usb c cable and plug it in a 40 watt charger and it charges while playing . Never charge it with the 40 watt charger only the recommended but while using it the 40 watt chargers like the regular charger.

I own the larger model of Quest 2. I have been holding out on my quest 3 purchase in hopes that they will release at 256 GB model. Personally a quest 3 Lite model is not interesting to me at all.
I do think they'll swap the 128 for a 256 at some point like they did for the 64gb 2. The lite leaks show it starting at 256gb which would be odd to not have the main 3 do the same

If you like into the radius, you would probably like ghosts of tabor, it’s basically escape from tarkov but in vr. It’s one of my favorites on the quest.
Ghosts of Tabor is great!! I haven't spent as much time on it due to the multiplayer nature and the fact that I get REKT when I play it :D
1:10 For me it's how I used the controlers anyway and it's so much nicer... Now if only VR elements did not derp your hands and you could use hands/fingures in PCVR or and in MR did you notice your hands glow when behind UI elements?

I bet we'll see a dev try this! They would have to unlock the switching but it should be fully possible. The only tricky thing is the headset needs to see the controllers unless you're using the Pro ones.

I have one too, take it back or return, my left screen bottom right corner, right screen occasionaly goes half black and white too, i can personally hand it back but ima wait just a couple more weeks, got my Q3 on 16th december was there from the first turn on 🙄

The downside to hand tracking is that I find having it enabled slows down controller games and reduces registered movements noticibly. Probably because of the extra processing. But it should disable when in an unsupported game without me having to

I DEFINITELY think it's worth it... keep in mind I like brutal survival games. Minecraft on survival or even hardcore. Stranded deep (which I secretly kinda hated although I played hundreds of hours... SO TEDIOUS) and this one is no joke! I think I only spent about 30 hours total but I loved every minute of ITR... also those 30hours was in like 2 weeks :D
It's definitely worth it into the radius is one of the best VR games you can get and if you have a quest 3 it looks really good now I have almost 55 hours into the game and I'm still not finished

I myself have saved more money to buy the Q3, but friends of mine have bought the Q2, because there budget is lower or they plan to use it less. So it is more the question, how much do you intent to use it, even after a little while and how much money is it worth for you? I have loved VR from the age of 11 I think and finally bought a headset now that I'm 18, so for me it was really worth the money and I nearly use it every day for the last 5 months.
But if you want an easy answer: Better quality, more features and Mixed reality: Quest 3. Lower price, but still great quality: Quest 2

It's absolutely worth saving for a Q3. The lenses are so much better, the FOV is a little wider and the audio is noticably better as well. And you'll get a decent passthough. Only get a Q2 if you can't save up enough in a certain amount of time (like if it will have you waiting for another 1-2 years or so). Alternative to saving and waiting is to get a Q2 not to get in there and then upgrade at a later point while flipping the used Q2 to get a decent amount of money back that you can then put into the Q3.
I would at least wait another month or two in case these Quest 3 lite rumors are true. That would be a more updated headset than the 2 at least.
If it’s your first VR i would say get Q2 for now.
Even with the price cuts on the quest 2, I just can’t see it as being worth it. The advancements the quest 3 offers is absolutely worth the higher price. A quest 3s would just be perfect and I’d recommend people just wait for that. Quest 2 was great during its era but that’s over now.
I use the quest 3a few times a week, its not just gaming, its an alternative to a laptop or phone I think VR / XR does have a future in general purpose computing long term
4:30 The issue I have with Quest on the go is... No internet and things on the quest get weird with no internet like most apps being able to be windows is just gone and there is no off headset storage... So yeah I feel like I need MR with my quest 3 in public even in a doctor's office or out pataint clinic as it's just weird being in VR in public to me... But yeah if they added off headset storage and let your phone boost internet to the headset as you need it anyway I would use it in public 100%.
It depends, if im not moved much i run something intense. If i did move, i just playing AC Nexus. If i worked really hard, then it's seated Draconite or just some videos.

I’m on v65 and I still don’t have the room mapping features everyone keeps saying is hidden in v64 but no one actually has it.
I don't even have other features that allegedly made it into the previous versions... it's literally a **clusterbleep** with their update policy.

Im extremely bitter about Alta. I was a supporter for their first project which means you pay monthly to help Alta finish a Township Tale. After several years of radio silence and "hold on guys, we're making great progress" i eventually cut my support. Now i find out all my money was funneled into a completely different game instead of the updates that were promised and eventually canned at the time. I dont think Alta should be let off the hook for that as i am NOT the only one who feels this way.

I paid for the new model 3 years ago now and I keep getting quarterly emails saying "progress is being made but we don't know when we'll ship" and I keep thinking I should really cancel my order. I don't have a pc. I use my quest completely stand alone. And side loading video editing apps is awesome
It would totally make my day if Meta announced that the Quest 3 could wirelessly(and wired) connect to the PS5 or Series X for more horse power. That, and a future Quest 3 Pro boasting a Micro-OLED display, including controllers with haptics on par with PSVR2's, adaptive triggers and traditional analog sticks. Not to mention a lighter headset with goggle-like form factor that doesn't require a top middle strap.
Quest 3 still has a couple of friction points. It's heavy, and the top middle strap downgrades the sleekness and overall aesthetic. It's miles nicer than PSVR2 though. :P
my multimodal actually got removed in v64, was working in v63. Anyone know how to fix?
It will ruin perf for controller games and tracking reliability. So it's not too great to have on right now

I'd love to get a haptic vest but I'm still waiting for my gun stock to arrive and maybe FPS even with a gun stock isn't for me. So I want to find out if I enjoy that type of game first. I am using my quest a lot more now I've got a quest 3. The colour pass-through is a really useful thing for me.,It keeps me aware of my surroundings and I don't lose my balance so much. I got tropico4 the other day and it's one of those rare games that causes me to have a low battery warning because I play it so long. I'm really looking forward to my bobo VR battery station and the battery so I don't have to worry about taking the headset off and waiting for it to charge up anymore. Great suggestions jay! I'm really looking forward to receiving them.

@@jaybratt oh yes, I saw the unboxing short on CZcams earlier today. I got demeo when it first came out on the quest 2. But now I've got the quest 3 It is much more playable. I've only played solo so far but it is amazing when you zoom in really close. I'm enjoying your content mate. It's got high production quality. No fluff. Nice one.
That's a tempting price drop for the vest.
I rather they just continue supporting the quest 2 than release some cutback version of the quest 3. at the very least call it an enhanced quest 2 instead of a quest 3 lite.

If you don't know, tapping your q3 controllers together and it will switch to hand tracking. You can tap lightly, I've tested it and they can be tiny taps.
