Throw into the mix outside issues that require our attention & things can quickly become overwhelming.
Thankfully, Toon and Leigh are used to such situations in rural Thailand, but things are a little different now.

Great video, and having lived in Thailand for 25 years with my Thai wife I can relate to every one of those situations you talked about. Good to see how much you love the life you have chosen, not an easy one, buy you have the perfect attitude to handle it... and smart enough to keep your head down when the Thai missus chucks a wobbly. Hang in there, you definitely will become Thailand's Goat Whisperer and people will be coming to you for advice.

The joy and deeper relationship you will get from spending more time with Kaimuk will more than compensate from the lost hours working the farm.
You finally said your age! Im 1 year older :-) If it makes you feel better where I live in Japan the farmers live to 100+ as long as they continue to work every day. Then have a good fish and a cup of tea. Japanese old men drink a little "Sweet Potato Shochu" with ice and water.

Great video again mate , we have Mother in law living with us last 3 years she had a stroke and father pass 3 years as well it’s not easy . Sisters help with money wise and she stay with the brother weekend so we get time on our own. (I love the weekends . )This is the Thai way never in a home like uk , just have to bite the bullet and get on with it . 😊
I think you hit the nail on the head mate. Flipping homes, the stuff of nightmares for many of those going in them.
What people who don't live out here realize, is the heat and humidity in the rainy season nowdays really saps your energy also. Have to work at a steady pace. Could always get a buffalo or cow to help with the grass runs.
I agree mate. Dry heat is much easier to work in, unless it's mega hot of course.

Unfortunately, it takes a bit longer to record & edit the videos but I think it's worth the extra effort.

The best advice I got about farm life here in Isaan was "Don't think too much". There are tasks to do, just do them. I mean surely, last thing you want to be called is a whining pom! LOL

Will do Mark Java. Kai Muk now calls aunty Toon at 6:20am Monday to Friday to remind her to take her to school.
The knock-on effect is I now have to get up at 5:55am to make the coffee....... Toon can't physically get out of bed without her brew lol.

I have to agree we have had our granddaughter living with us as a three-day-old, and she's 9 years old it's been no problem except for 10 months when my wife brings her up alone but I wouldn't change for anything it Thai living innit.

We're both currently coping fine here.
We'd love Kai Muk to come & live with us on the farm, although the logistics are a bit of an issue.
If it's meant to be, it'll be I suppose.
Toon's wrist is unfortunately really bad. Looks like I've assumed Gatin cutting duties until she's mended.
How long now, untill your BIG move? It can't be long!

The move is coming along slowly, but surely, the hardest bit for me is getting enough doh, especially how expensive the cost of living is in the uk. I am back in march, so by then, I will have half of the funds in, 🤪. And I have pinned in 12 months from then to come full time, I will keep you posted. I hope Toon wrist gets better soon and keep your chin up.

Unfortunately, I had cleaning out under the goat house on my chores list!
Just my luck, now I've finished, it's about to tip it down.
Honestly, Toon's wrist is in a state all bandaged up at the moment.
Luckily we got Na Luad to do a couple of goat food trips.
It's so bad she won't be able to hold her fishing rod, let alone reel something in!
A dolly has four wheels. A hand truck has two wheels.
She's a trolley called Dolly 🤣🤣🤣
Not an easy time, an additional pair of hands required along with a lottery win, it will work itself out ❤

I assume you are enjoying a few beers nowadays. Any difference in the energy level when you were abstaining?
We generally have two end of day beers after the goats are away for the night.
Energy levels are about the same.
I'd say the only notable difference is not waking up at 4am each morning.
Off the beer is was awake 4am - 8pm.
Now 6:30am - 9:30pm.
Switching to eating only twice a day has helped energy levels for sure.
I also drink fresh lime juice with water.every day.

Feed your jelly beans to your grass carps.
I reckon it's worth a try with a few. I Java Barbs & tilapia take the odd one in the lake, so we'll see......
@@ToonLeighporpeangfarmThailand Im sure they will love the partially digested grass. Grass carp is an amazing fish. They can eat 1/3 their weight and produce fish meat from low-value feed in no time.

I'm currently in the negotiating stage of becoming a father to 10 and 13 old girls. 😆 I told them how a lot of farangs think if they marry a Thai lady, especially one with kids, that they will "save" her. I also told them if I'm lucky enough to marry their mother, that I will be the one who gets saved!

Thanks Leigh, I'm in the middle of eating a bowl of noodles and you bring up BeeBo dropping logs.... That's okay, I'm still going to eat those noodles..... Another nice thing is, I can just punch one key on the old computers key board and pause your video while you catch your breath, that and while I go get some more ice cubes for my sprite I'm drinking with my noodles.....

Time to get a mattress in the goat house, Leigh. I'm sorry to hear about Toon's Mum, pass on my love to them all. I hope she gets better soon. My own Thai lady Minny lost her Mum just after we got together, and she was devastated, so I know it is going to be a difficult time for you all. I wish I could be there to give you a hand whilst learning the ropes, but I'm still stuck in the 9-5 rat race.
I'm thinking a small man cave in goat house to keep warm in the winter months.
Then a mozzie pop-up tent in the new bamboo Fishing Shack by the lake for the warmer months lol.
Joking aside, there's some tough times ahead for sure.
I'm sure the same as your wife did, Toon is devoted to her mum & carrying out the family duties.
It's a shame that she has to do it all singled handed but she rarely complains that no-one else is here to help.
Hire a kid to help you one or two days a week , do you harder main chores on those days , if I were you , I’d be hunting the snakes and lizards, find a good dish and cook them up , plus you can cure the skins and make kool things , learn a little yoga for your back , plus traditional Thai massage may help also, good luck
