  • Texas law requires you to move over a lane or slow down to 20 MPH below the posted speed limit when passing a stopped emergency or service vehicle on the freeway. Chief Justin Reed with the Cy-Fair Fire Department and Lieutenant Cedrick Collier with the Harris County Sheriff's Office explain why everyone should follow this rule, no matter who’s stopped ahead. Cops have to discontinue stopping motorists on the side of a busy interstate. Wait till the next exit. They are creating a very dangerous situation. Example: the cop that did a PIT maneuver on a pregnant woman because she was trying to reach the next exit. He made her mini van turn upside down!!

    They made it a law to slow down for themselves but not for the public. Outrageous.

    I agree to slow down or move over if it's safe to do so but on a crowded interstate it's not safe so y'alls safety isn't more important than mine. The police put everyone in danger over minor traffic violations it's not that important.

    Glad you got data and are able to break it down. Now, if you could just use it to fire several officers caught harassing camera people in public, officers straight up lying and making up crap in these same instances, officers who trespass on private property and don't leave, and I could go
    on for several pages. Suffice to say that you need to act on that data and idiots doing that fired immediately and for cause. And in some cases,
    send the idiots to jail or prison.

    “It’s very uneasy to write a citation, to give a person a warning on the side of the road….” … y’all shoulda done a focus group on this one cuz ain’t nobody gon sympathize with this 😂

    I understand that no matter what, officers will need to endanger them selves on the side of the road to help people in need. It's absolutely dangerous and unavoidable. But it ends there. Cops will bait extremely busy highways by waiting on the side of the highway for the first person who doesn't abide by the move over law. This directly causes accidents and miles of traffic because they are essentially shutting down a lane of traffic just to write a small fine. 🙄 it's a miracle if it doesn't cause an accident itself. You have cops hiding around sharp bends with their lights on trapping people on this law. Nobody expects 20 mph slow downs because they can't see the cruiser on the side. What I see is an absolute abuse of this law, which causes more accidents than it prevents. Its now another ticket revenue mechanism for officers to act like Bill collectors. They purposely put them selves in danger to write tickets that help keep them out of danger. Wtf?

    Ya don't even try to make me feel sorry for you while you're literally stealing millions of dollars a year by harassing the public. As far as I'm concerned each accident is a public service.

    So a cop pulls somebody over for a victimless crime to extort them like the road pirates that they are and gets ran over and killed I say justice was served.

    • @LiaMari
      @LiaMari Před 2 lety +1

      From experience I can attest that trying to wait to pull over in a safe place is frowned upon by police. They seem perfectly fine with pulling people over in unsafe places, instead of following and pulling people over at the first safe opportunity, or follow until the driver finds a safe place.
      This is just another way of elevating the police above the citizens they {Theoretically} were meant to serve.
      The servants have taken over.
      We are being held prisoner in our own home.

    Dinner's only valuable from two points of view one point of view is that the data is accurate as to it in its own existence and the other point of data that is valuable is Dana that is accurate will only have value when it's analyzed and brought together in a narrative that makes sense, there's all kinds of data out there but it's useless if we can't be brought together and connected in such a way that shows logic and makes sense.
