Good Morning. I'm your fan from Brazil my age 64 years old. I'm renovating a 62 year Chevrolet Brasil pick up. if you use french screw the work is beautiful.
Thank you! Good luck with our project.
Lekker Diffy. I've found out why my welding helmet experience has been so kak: because I now need to take my glasses off under the helmet to see close up. It's a proper pain in the fugging arse, but at least I'm enjoying the welding again!
The grill looks brilliant. Well done!
Thanks Sean! Ja, not seeing properly is one of the biggest problems with lekka welding. My glasses also only best for looking out there... also have have them off when doing the close up work. Whatever works best man!
Looks good!
Nice grill work! Thanks for another great video
Thanks for watching!
Great Ideas. Very nice
You were definitely right about the teeth! Nice Job.

Looks awesome the way it is.
Thank you very much!
That looks awesome or Wonderlik!
Hey, the speed holes was a nice touch!!! And great job on how that grill tapers down from top to bottom!!!!
Speed holes always looks good, don't know why I didn't put them in the beginning. Thanks, I'm happy with the way it turned out
Looks very cool , it flows with the grill ... build on
Thanks my friend. CZcams tells me you are one of the top commenters! Congrats😅

Thank you! Cheers!
Glad you are back at it 😎
Thanks, me too! More to come!
Not only does the truck have that RAT ROD look , but, the person also has the look . They just go hand in hand. Just a thought. Ronnie.
🤣 Yes, I am also a rusty vintage model with some patina🤣
Great work...
Big fan from Portugal
Hey, thanks very much!
Looks great
Thank you Sir!
Nice work Brother....
Thanks ✌️
Looks good brother. I think it turned out great. 👍✌️
Thanks 👍
Great job as always!
Thanks again!

Thanks!
I love this truck!
Thank you my friend!
Beautiful!
Thanks buddy!
Don't worry! The fluff will grow back! And if it was smellavision it might matter about your shirt!🦨! Nice grill!
😂 I stopped worrying when I turned 60! 😂 Thanks Brian.
I like your choice. Jeff
Thank you Sir!
Not bad ⚡️
Lekka grill, Div. Looking forward to the next video
Thanks Brian. Next video will be up on Wednesday
Mushe , been waiting for this video. Looking good I'm glad you went with this option.
Thanks buddy!
Looks great!
Thank you!
Every day a little more Great work using junk to make Art that drives .
"Using junk to make Art that drives" !!! I really like that! Thanks!
Glad to see no teeth grill you are improving your fabrication skills 🇦🇺👍
Thanks Chris
Looking very lekker! Worried that I seem to be coming around to this rat rod thing😉
Come! We waiting for you! Just think, no stress and worry about paint, no stress about keeping the bling shiny, no worries about getting it dirty, no rules! I've had some street rods, restored cars, restomods, but rats are the MOST fun!😂😂
@@ratrodsafrica that certainly sounds like the way. Spent most of the day monkeying around on the shiny bits of my wife's new midlife crisis MX5.
@@ekim000 you must be really cleva to understand that thing! Haha
Great job. Looks fantastic
Thanks!
well done man
Thank you Rob
Looks like you made a full recovery! 👍 The peanut gallery was wondering if you could make a panel extending from the middle slat/piece you just installed on the grill and carry it all the way to the cab with the same air gaps on each side just like the grill sections you manufactured!?!? If that makes any sense?!?! 🤪
Firing on all 8 again, thanks! Anything is possible, its a question of how much time wants to spend on something.
Awesome looking grill ! I gotta admit seeing some rat rods that (maybe?) went a little to far ? You make a good point about style ! Glad to see you made it past the flu !
Thank you my friend. In my opinion some rats are just too much...like it is an excuse to throw together as many mismatched elements a possible. But each to his own...😅
Love it mate.
Thanks Matt
Looks good there just needs to be rusty to look like the rest of the truck.😉
The rust will come soon, don't worry 😅
Looks good
Thank you!
@@ratrodsafrica out of all people on you tube you are the only one to thank people for watching your channel. I love your content and will never stop watching your show . Love it and you for just who you are .
@@darwinfoster7420 thanks man! Well, I think it's just common decency to appreciate people that spend their valuable time watching my stuff😅
Stylish Rat Rod hmmm Jumbo Shrimp 🍤
👍👌👏 I don't know if you knew already. Speed holes give you round about 0.1 km/h more each! But please don't make a sieve out of your rat rod now! 😁 ;-) 2) Grilled teeth... uhm... teeth grill? On second thought: Maybe a kind of metal hairs would've been a really cool idea!? In the middle just like those skinheads had/have. But now the grilling is done and it looks good too.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health.
😂FINALLY someone has calculated! There are probably around 20 holes in each bomber seat, so at least another 4 km/h to my top speed!😂
Dear @@ratrodsafrica Div
Thanks for replying and especially for another heart. I totally appreciate both very much.
2) Exactly, Sir. Of course plus all the other ones you already drilled. Additionally you could also easily drill some holes in the pedals (between the pimples you put on). 😁 ;-)
Sincerely yours.
Really nice look. You are very talented man. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks 👍
I appreciate that! Thank you.
That piece looks similar to a 54th Chevy grill Only smaller
“Happy wife, happy life.”, I heard a wise man once say. Lol!
You hit it out of the park brother. That really gives it some nice styling. Maybe add something that looks like your hood hinges. Or maybe a custom badge on the front.
Keep up the great work. And I’m guessing you made it through that nasty flu.
A wise man he was! 😅 Thanks Harold, yes a custom badge does lurk somewhere in the future. Beat the flu and firing on all 8 again!😄
That grill came out nice Div, keep up the good work.
Thank you Ron. I shall try!
Please don't let anyone influence you to be anyone else besides yourself !!!! That's what makes you who you are
Too old now to be anyone else🤣
It works Div. I like it. The speed hole as well. Are the sides going to stay open? Thank you again for sharing.
Thanks Ish. Ja, planning to leave the side open.
Great job, the grill blends perfectly with the rest. I just discovered your channel and it brings back memories. I traveled to South Africa, twenty years ago, made a road trip around Cap town, Little Karoo etc. even slept at Mossel Bay :)
Thanks man! Small world hey?😅 Place has changed a lot in 20 years, none of it for the better unfortunately...
Glad you are doing well 😊, I was thinking expanded steel would have been a interesting idea for a grill insert
Thank you.
There's just something missing. The sides are not blended in . I think if you blend about 2 inches from that grill on the sides it would look a little better because it's just to straight on the sides of the grill upper piece that you made
Sharp observation and good point! Been bugging me as well... gonna hafta do something something about it!😅
Hey Dif,
Looking good!. But had a question: Your hood/bonnet halves, how are they secured? I might have forgotten if you had showed that. But if you hadn't, then here is an idea. Extend your nose bars that you just finished, around to the sides. It is just an idea you might want to think about or maybe you can use something like that on your next build.
Bart
Thanks Bart! Still have to come up with a way to secure them... toying with the idea of leather straps and buckles?
@@ratrodsafrica I think you said something like that in a earlier video. I think that is a great idea. Maybe some brass buckles holding them down.
Bart
If you happy what does it matter duff
Lekka man
👊👍
love the build so far.. but will that grill restrict air flow to the rad?
Thanks! I think we will be fine with the airflow, will see.
👍🏻🍺
Cheers buddy!😄
Later man
Hi this is DARYL BROWN ALLSOME job, how do you lock hood down
Hey Daryl! Thanks. I installed some lockdown clips. You can see them in more recent videos
Might be late but what about original grill pieces
Very hard to find here unless you pay lots of money. I made my own in the end
Hello from central south Oklahoma I have one question What wheel and diff did you use on the rogue rat. Like and watch every video you have
Hello Frank. Thanks man. The diff, drive train and engine came out of a South African built car from the 1970's, called a Chevrolet 4100. Its the same as the Opel Rekord D Series. Not cars anyone from the US will know. I built my own dually wheels with a spacer to fit to the original bolt pattern
Hey I just noticed the door hinges on the left don't match the right ones. Lol
Figment of your imagination bro! 😂😂
You could have scratched the bonnet when you removed it ⚡️
Oh no!!
How do you weld with your hands so close and not burn them
Years of practice? 😅
As long as babes has a say you gotta obey😂😂😂
Happy wife, happy life right? 😅
Am I 1st to comment 😁😁😁
You win brother!😅
Hey Duff send me your mailing address. I will be going shopping this week to pick up some pieces to send you. Us Grey haired old farts have to stick together. Jay in canaďa..
Hey T-jay. Really appreciate tye offer, but our mailing system is very unreliable and almost broken (third world country...). Only way to move stuff is with courier services and that is way to expensive. The moral support is great though! Again, thanks for the thought!
needs a custom turbo kit. What would be really cool, in my humble opinion, would be an 80's style Mitsubishi set up. A suck through induction, a side draught weber (48mm) on tube style manifold you could joint to look like fingers
