Well, I'm late to the party, but this was great, Josh! It was the perfect primer for me before I bust out my CosClay. I've been curious about this product for a while. Nice job all around! : )
That cosclay stuff is a really interesting material.
My first time here, Craftman sent me. Liked what I saw and subscribed and liked the video. Great work!
you can still bake clear-coated polymer clay, just turn it to around 194 farenheit and keep it there for an hour. I've gotten away with sustaining only low to moderate brain and lung damage by doing this for the last few years.
I love your creation. I prefer mixing my own colors. You can also use Sarsn wrap. You are so creative. I love him.
This is wild! I watched the Sculpy 101 series and saw this little guy in passing but seeing him come to life and seeing the progression of this is just so rad. Recently discovered your channel and I am hooked. Definitely headed to Patreon my friend. KEEP. IT. UP.
thank you!
The BEST cosclay video out there 💯💯💯
Thx for named me in the video and in the info box!
His hair reminds me of Oswald Cobblepot from Gotham and I’m living for it.
Loved it, I’ve missed these sort of sculpting videos. Really interesting to see you testing out the different techniques with Cosclay and an awesome piece at the end! 👏👍
Hey Josh, great sculpt! Good to see ya on here again.
Really amazing art piece...💜
You are a unique soul, Josh. Best channel on the subject by far.
Yes indeed I do know about it and I have a bunch of it. :) I was one of the backers on the kickstarter also. :) Thanks for making another video about it. I have not seen as many videos using cosclay as I would have liked... I know.. I know... I should make a video but I am better without a camera than with one unless I am taking still shots. - Heidi
great video!! i love how you tested the clay in a bunch of ways. im really sold on buying this now
The best video about this material I've seen, Thanks!
Another great vid, thanks for sharing with us man....I haven't used that stuff yet, sculpty fan myself, but who knows what the future holds, lol
I'm so glad you did this tutorial. Thanks.
Thank you. You are delightful to watch and listen to.
Great video bro! !!!
Awesome video, really enjoyed it
Thank you. Was interesting and fun!
That's awesome! Thank's!
hi from canada love your vids and how u take the time to explain things
I love Cosclay!
wait a minute now. working with polymer clay, you kept losing the index finger, so it was pointless?
wow
Lol!!!’
Amazon lists several brands called Cosclay, some of which are just regular (that is, fragile) polymer clay. This makes it really hard to ensure you're ordering what you actually want.
(It also doesn't help that Amazon insists I am searching for "cosplay".)
Yeah the name is an issue when you're searching for it.
My Cosclay just got delivered today, have waited 6mths for it (I'm in the UK) Your creature is cool, I may use leaves in a clothing design for a wasp.
Yo where did you order yours from, I've been in contact with the UK distributors and they are still waiting for their shipment!
This guy is a very creative artist.
Regional manager at hot topic vibes...
*Assistant TO the Regional Manager
cute and also creepy, love it
Cool
I've heard that it works to wrap your wire with masking tape before adding the clay.
Is there any clay or material out there which remain felxible but more for posing a puppet? Thanks a lot!
This is about as flexible as it gets when it comes to clay. For puppets, they are often constructed from foam, or they are made by sculpting an original shape, then making a mold and casting foam replicas. I don't have any examples of using foam, but I do show the basics of making a mold here. czcams.com/video/EEVZx673Y-c/video.html
Need to buy a pasta roller. which one do you recommend ?
Good question. I've had my semi-broken one for something like 20 years so I'm not the best person to ask. But I did find this comparison video that might help. czcams.com/video/PBHdXl4g6zI/video.html
i remember my sister raged several months ago and slammed my custom big chungus amiibo on the floor, i was able to glue him back together but he still broke
not sure how stacks up but sculpy offers a product called bendy I can only find in multy pack on their website but they used to offer super-flex. have you ever tested out Ultra-light? and they have a new product called souffle, and one called bake shop, I have no idea how they work but just thought id bring them up.
I tried their flexible stuff years ago and it was only slightly flexible. I haven't tried souffle yet, but I should.
This is really late but I was wondering how good it could be for making larger jewelry pieces like neck bands and such? I’m working on a cosplay project that has one and I need something durable but can still fit on and off my neck; does anyone know if cosclay would work for that or if I should sadly stick to foam?
Yes, it would work. But keep in mind the weight and price will be higher.
16:01 can you paint polymer clay before baking it with regular acrylics? Does it work?
I've never tried. I imagine some paints do better in the oven than others. You could always test it with a scrap piece.
Ahhh the dreaded broken fingers😄
I spent almost 2 months making a critter sculpt and snapped his dumb fingers off when i went to turn him (after 2 MONTHS of farting around and glueing hair to the little turd)😫😂live and learn
You should get your own, Dental Handpiece. It will help you a lot 👌
Why?
I love cosclay. I have better details. No more broken fingers. Btw my art is on the kickstarter box. I also solely use genesis. Tip.. Use a household oven for better results. Toaster ovens, convection ovens, halogen ovens, etc do not hold consistent heat. The heat spikes will make cosclay not cure properly. You can get fragile pieces or even cracks. I made this mistake when curing genesis on a piece. It's best to use a second thermometer in a house oven. Cosclay is totally nontoxic so safe for same oven you cook in.
Can you drill holes into cosclay like you can premo clay
Yes. It's a bit rubbery, but not too much to drill
What the heck was that magic wand thing and how did it make sand-like material look like hairs? Are you a warlock?
Less like a warlock. More like an incompetent electrician. www.amazon.com/Fityle-Flocking-Applicator-Antislip-Modelling/dp/B08LZHT1NX/
sad we doesnt have it our country
You're funny lol!
Hi, Josh. My cosclay became EXTREMELLY sticky after conditioning by hand, to the point of being impossible to sculpt anything, it's almost like hot chewed gum. Is my first time using it since it's expensive and hard to come by where I live. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thanks.
You can leech it of the excess oil by making it as flat as possible and sandwiching it between paper bags or cardboard overnight. This will suck a bunch of the oil out. But I've heard that the recipe has changed over the years and I haven't used the newer stuff so I really can't guarantee anything.
@@JoshForeman I'll get on to it, thanks a lot!
24:42 what if you just. go outside Climb tree borrow a real live leaf and .press it in
Wish you still did videos
Why do you think I don't still do videos? I do one pretty much every month. :)
Can’t find Cos Clay on Amazon ?
You can see on their website.
You probably fixed the statue about 1,0000 times
What song at 32:39 pls
Not sure which of these songs it is, but it's def from this collection. vindsvept.bandcamp.com/album/the-youtube-collection
