I've gotta be honest, having adhd and learning tutorials is a struggle cause they don't clarify themselves so THANK YOU for speaking slowly, giving examples for BOTH right/wrong keys in the most basic beginner way cause thats the first time I could really tell what DOESNT work lol Thanks for not assuming everyone knows that, I can tell when songs are generally off but couldn't tell you exactly WHY so merci beaucoup so the simplification. Also my guy...THAT COLORFUL CHART! that literally made the whole key thing make sense. My brain will not process b&w chords on a straight line but somehow understands how to match keys when it's in a pretty circle with arrows lol THANK YOU!!!
OMG WAIT I paused in the middle to write that but it got better cause SPREADSHEETS ARE MY SHIT!!!! I was literally thinking about making one earlier because right now I have a tiny ass pocket notebook and it's so annoying to flip through and a spreadsheet would be so much better lol you are an inspiration, never forget it
great video. I've considered buying it and this video convinced me. I like the idea of having all the cue points put in for me too. It takes forever to analyze hundreds of songs.
I’m glad someone has done this experiment using Serato and Rekordbox. I’ve been using MIK 8 for a while now and only having Serato there was no way to try this with Rekordbox to see which one was better. I have to say I’m questioning the update to v10 and the additional $40. Also the spectrum of going just from 12a to 11a to 1a or 12b works with a twist. It’s possible to jump to 4a from 12a depending upon the tracks in question. It’s a matter of genre and where you can cut in and beat match. Also we’ve trained not to play whole tracks just the best parts. I trust MIK for Key but not it’s Cue points or Energy level. There are tracks that analyze at energy levels of 9 and 10 that sound like a 6 or 7. Cue points are questionable as well. Maybe it’s just my ears. Some one else will have a different perspective. Nice.. already knew this but you made it really clear.. problem is I use DJuced.. they use standard key like 5M and 5D. Is there also a kind of Camelot wheel for standard keys?
Most of the songs I know are from CZcams Too bad they did not sync with the software because it is tedious to download lots of songs just to build one set ... in Bitport so it is not accurate according to what you showed. Maybe to download songs from a certain energy to build a ensemble set - but anyway even if there is a match in Key it does not mean that the mix will be good.

Always wondered…is there a way in Serato to directly edit the key signature of a track (sorry don’t have the software in front of me)

What if you stream from Soundcloud or similar? Does that make a difference? Can still use mixinkey ?
