A lot of the commenters are giving you a hard time for being a bit tedious but I'd rather someone be thorough and maybe a little repetitive than skip over important stuff. Great video.

Totally agree!!
Doug agree! Not everyone knows the small details! I appreciate the "secrets"!
entirely agree, I was actually able to use all of the detail you gave to make a shopping list
The detail, explanation, and thoroughness are what people who want to do the job correctly need and want. Thanks for the great video series.
When I feel frustrated, even in general, your videos calm me down. Thanks for being so calm and thorough!
Dumb plumber just came to check out Shannon on my trade. Windows went in today like a boss. Thanks Shannon.
Another great video, Shannon! I just watched a couple other videos and they didn't tell or show me nearly enough to make me feel confident. I have done several home projects that were "over my head" but your videos have walked me through and they have turned out better than I ever expected. Keep up these informative videos.
I just finished installing my first bathtub in my rental property.
I watched your video and followed your process, worded like a charm. I have been a carpenter for 38 years but I have never been much of a plumber. I was going to sub this out , but after watching you I decided to give it a try.
Thank you for your direct and informative advice . I will look for your videos in the future when I’m about to dive into something that’s out of my comfort zone.
Thank you
I've been watching a lot of videos like this on how to install a bathtub. This one and another one are by far the most instructive and informative on what to do and what not to do. Great job!!
Your videos has been a big help. I am doing a full bathroom remodel and I am about to be installing the bathtub. I already did all the framing and plumbing. First timer here. Thanks.
Thank you. You have been with me here in Missouri helping me throughout my project.
Thank you for taking your time. Extremely appreciated. I really do like your calm and craftsmanship.
Shannon, I recently bought my first house, and I have novice remodeling and construction experience. I'm currently in the process of gutting and remodeling my guest bathroom, I have watched numerous videos you have made, and I can say you have some of the best videos on the web, they are extremely helpful and you always make sure to explain everything you are doing and the purpose of doing it. Thank you and I will be watching many of your videos so keep posting them you are great!
Glad to see a real world install and not a manufacturers install video on a movie set where it all goes perfect.
I'm about to take on this nightmare project at my house - very glad you explain things so clearly and well. Great video! Wish me luck!
Excellent video. Relevant and detailed. Anticipating needs, options, adaptions from previous errors or norms and highlighting viewable angles are key to our continued support of superior instruction. Thank you for excellent series.
I'm going to tackle this for the first time tomorrow. I appreciate all the detail!
There are many potential pitfalls that can befall the unwary when installing a tub. This vid and it's careful, thorough, methodical approach to what at first seem like innocent looking easy steps, ensure they don't turn into disasters like they so easily can. Great commentary and video.
Every phase of the installation was explained thoroughly all the details thoroughly laid out made the job scene quite simple.
Initially after seeing the length of this video I considered finding another. But, I know I will watch a dozen other videos to achieve the substance I received from this one video. Thanks again for the assistance. You have roofed my house. You have installed a window. You have also now installed a bathtub. Thanks for the help.
We tend to have pretty lengthy videos but they are packed with info you won't find in most others! Insider tip... set your playback speed to as much as 2x speed and my videos are still very understandable.
I have to install a new bath tub and being a.new comer to Canada i had no idea for doing this job but after watching video I am going to get started. Thank you keep up the excellent work.
This looks like it would be very tricky. It's excellent that you are able to give such great explanations while doing this work. Kudos and thanks!
Thank You Shannon. You are such an amazing person.
Thanks for the explanation of all the variables and parts that can go wrong. I've seen some other videos and they are less complete. Glad I found yours. I'm about to install a tub in an old house to replace the cast iron one.
This is a great video and an even better detailed explanation. This video is actually going to be my guide for my bathroom renovation when installing my bathtub.
I can't thank you enough. This video was informative, educational, and easy to understand. Appreciate it!!!
Shannon, you are the best and also additive. from scratch you showed me how to build a shed now I can't stop building...I build a patio, open porch, my fence and gate. now I'm on to transition my show to tub...oh and I pass inspection too...thank you
+Cheryl Battle That's great. We have a bunch more topics coming out in the next few months, so stay tuned to stay busy.
Hi Shannon, thank you for another great video. I could see you were a bit frustrated at times during the installation/recording, so I truly value the effort you put in while doing this one. I subscribe to more than 30 channels on CZcams, but yours is one of the few that I keep an eye on, to see if there are new videos out.
I find that most DIY videos on CZcams are not as thorough or complete as yours, in terms of how you tell and show us all the steps involved in a particular project. The How To Build a Shed video series is fantastic!
The latest videos relating to the house you are renovating are great! What a great opportunity to show us so many things!!! Thank you so much for all your effort!

Great video. Your instructional videos are some of the best. Really appreciate it.
Shannon, your videos are so helpful! I was debating calling someone to do the actual tub install, but your explanation was so good I'm pretty sure I can do it my self. Thanks!
i'm sure you can
Fantastic. Thank you for taking the time. Incredibly helpful.
Thank god I have found your videos here Shannon. I am having to do a lot of home improvement on my own and this is very helpful!
yes please use any video of ours you need. also we have a forum if you still run into problems.www.house-improvements.com/forums/
Great video and great job my friend...after this video I am very confident to install one.
you share really informative & well done videos. thanks shannon!
Your videos are very thorough and informative. I didn't know the tub framing is 5 feet from wall to wall. Type of tub to watch out for...Don't cut pipe on miter saw (I wouldve tried) and so on. You are a great.
Thank you for sharing your talents.
Thank you for an excellent tub installation !
Helpful video. This vid really shows the challenges of installing a bathtub, and no just a set up example in the shop. Thank you
+RomeroRubioDF you're welcome
Thanks for the video, extremely knowledgeable and helpful!
With an instructor like you I would be a master, Merci for your dedication and great explanation.
At first I was simply googling 'tub installation'; then it turned into me leaving the video playing in the background purely to listen to Shannon's incredible voice. Love the accent! I know it's totally weird, but now I am inspired to do some hoovering! And that's nothing like tub installation! LOL!

I'm doing a walk in closet to/master bath conversion. I don't miss the fact that I'm using a Corian shower stall and not doing a tub. Four sections, and three seams is all it is. Standing room under the shower stall beneath. This was a good video, other than me not knowing how my back should look when hooking up the p-trap, I think everything I need to know is here.
Keep doing what you do, you explain things very well.
im installing a bath tub for the first time this vid was excellent thank-you sir now i can do this
This is a great video as always. You guys do awesome job
Thank you for this video. I like the level of detail you showed.
A word of advice for DIYers when dry fitting pipes: the fit will not be the same as the final fit with glue. The wet glue tends to act as a lubricant that will make the pieces slide in more than on a dry fit. Additionally, it is a solvent glue-- rather than the glue itself binding the ABS together, it actually sort of melts the ABS to weld it together. So take that in to consideration when doing a fit. A plumber told me the general amount of change caused by the glue, but I can't remember it right now. If I remember, I'll edit this to add that information.
You can also mark the depth at which the pipes fit on the dry run, then when you glue them, just stop where the mark is. Would that help?
Very good video. Thank you for taking the time to show us this!
Great vid! Just pulled out an old steel tub and installed a low curb shower pan. Running tile to it now. The plumbing is situationally based. People need to be understanding and experiment themselves. By the way, do you have any tile vids? Dont think I saw any.
Awesome, thanks from a fellow canadian for posting thissss Shannon!! :D
Great video with more than enough detail to help install the Maax tub.
Thank you, I like this video, its very realistic, difficulties happen and it is helpful to see some of the problems that can happen and how you kept on going. Now I am gong to look for your installing a p-trap video, cheers!
I've used a drywall saw for abs pipe, worked pretty good 👍
Thanks this really helped, A LOT!

This video is explained well and the installment itself is not bad either.
I really appreciate your guidance. Any chance you need to replace a toilet anytime soon? Would really like some help with that! Thank you, sir.
Nice attention to details 👍👍
Been doing this stuff for 30 years, good job..one question, fiberglass tub, strucctolite under?
In my opinion? Great video
Great job A+++++
great job shannon i commend you! i am glad you have that other video for the hook up for the p trap.again great job!!!
thanks
You completely skipped the part about lining up the drain with the floor drain connection. Thats the info I needed the most...
very nice work!!! love it
great video and thanks for taking te time to EXPLAIN :)
i like him giving you reasons as to why and why not to do something
my favorite channel
Great video man! Helped me out big time!
Glad to help
The critical points I was looking for was detail on how to fit and connect the drain. Camera shots of each action is critical for me to understamd how connection the drain is done. On the upside I do enjoy watching your presentations
at about the 17min mark we go though the drain .
I missed that I apologize. I know you put special effort into these tapes and then you get a guy like me with 5 thumbs on both left hands. I'm still trying to fine a u tube on a tub starting from pre rough to finish with water going through the tdain
Good job man!
Great Video, thank you. One thing, the upper overflow gasket is 180 degrees out from what it should be. The thicker part of the gasket should be at the bottom since the wall of the tub is tapered and the gasket is designed to "make up" that slope. Thank you and keep up the good work. joe
+vintagedrums1 Itactually depends on the slope of the overflow pipe. If it is nice and plumb then yes you are correct but you can not always install it that way.In our video the bottom end of that pipe is sloped toward the tub a bit more.
Hi Shannon, Great video, Can you tell me what 1 1/2 angle's (PVC) did you use to configure the drain and overflow?
Over here in the UK the vast majority of baths have panels on the side so you have access to all the plumbing, pipe it up then put the panel on, its also better for maintenance.
LIKE ALWAYS VERY NICE VIDEO!!!
tank 's and so helpfull work.
I will install one this Tuesday and I will use u video will be mi first time...thanks for u video
Awesome Video!!.... You have one more subscriber 👍
Very detailed thanks
Nice video. I am installing the exact same tub and curious if you had any tips on shimming it across the short sides? I’m ok from the back of the tub to the drain but the shorter sides are down about 1/2 inch on the wall side. It’s hard to access the underside for shimming while it’s in place. Thanks.
Great videos. You have helped me a lot during my remodel journey. Like others have mentioned, how do you deal with the drain connection to the plumbing. Also the original tub was not screwed in but had clips instead. Do you suggest screws vs new clips?
David Godinez Please use my forum for all questions. www.house-improvements.com/forums/
Very good now let's see if I can do it thank you
Hello Shannon
I got a couple questions before I keep going, with the tub
I have built a shower niche, so I have notice the insulation (yellow color ) is a bit black should i take all out and replace, since is a outside wall
Second and most important, the green board on the side on the wall of the bath no tub is durlock on the tub,
Since i going to tile all the wall , when took the all subway tile, the green board, peels off a bit , can I scrapped and place the thin set and then the tile or a should take all off, try it save some work , but afraid the thin set wont hold to the board and the tile will fall, since always followed your videos , I do what you tell to do, thank you again for all the videos and help
