Klotz benol at 40:1 would really be a great thing for this build
Love it
Fuck yeah
Amsoil Dominator 50:1 Mike! Cleanest burning oil out there IMHO.
That's about where I plan to run it; using klotz R50 though.
I much prefer these assembly and disassembly videos.....these videos aren't boring and they show more important information than just slapping something together and riding
Thank you for the feedback tyler boudreau, I appreciated you watching my video!
@@MichaelSabo make videos you want to make.....dont make videos you think people want to see! I like your style and all the detail.... anyone who gets bored with that kind of info is the kind of people that don't work on things themselves.... dont be basic be the dude with the details!
Thatâs me. Iâm the guy with the rattling kickstart
đ
Itâs so hard to wait for the video after you see there instagram post am I right đ
Haha, thank you my bro!
Dude youâre right....the clicks on that kick return is extremely satisfying lol. Thing is looking FRESH!đđŒ
Not boring to me, Iâm drooling!!! đ€€ I am ready to hear this beast run though!
Thank you for the feedback man!
Not boring at all. Love the tutorial ones. Donât stop.
You should put the cir clip openings at a 6 or 12 o clock position. Theyre known to pop out due to pressure when they are sideways. Build looks absolutely killer
Nah man, your videos aren't boring. I love how you explain everything with so much detail. this is what I came for.. flipping Maverick's and kids stuck in mud is a bonus!
This build is coming together nicely. One day I'll own a trx 250r.
I'm gonna Pack a Punch my Rđ€€đ€Łđđ»

Pack A Punch You only live once....best purchase of my life.
Love the ESR PIPE but the RAW finish is cool because you can use a torch and make it look like a scavini pipe. I can't tell you how much I love this build. Thanks BRO!
This is why I fucking love this dude no intro bullshit and gets to the point
Haha, thank you bro!
Michael Sabo ayeee thanks for the reply
LMAO no time for bullsh*t right to the build. Seriously man that is sic! The detailed instructions are a huge help. I've built all my bikes thanks to people like you posting vids like this. Can't wait to hear that pipe ring and ting.
Hell yea man! Thank you for watching; I'm glad my videos can help!
I can see how you would feel like this video is boring for viewers, but legit, this is the first full step by step disassembly and rebuild video of a 250r out there. I love your "stuggle" videos, but i will be referencing these build videos for as long as I can. Amazing work man! And congrats!
Dude this feedback means a lot; thank you!
This build makes me want to hop on a 250r !!! Never ridden one before
No these videos are sick. don't worry about making them fun. idk about others but i just like learning and seeing how its done
Man i need a 2stroke back in my life :)
That engine is a work of art, that R is gonna rip. Can't wait to see it complete. As usual great job. Love the customer engine stand.
Thank you Andy Burianek! The engine stand came from the guys at trx250r.org!
Heck yea man thing is gonna be the baddest 250r yet people are gonna have some problems keepin up with that thing đȘđœđ€đœđ€đœ
Nice looking engine damn this build is sick. Nothing better than starting a fresh engine
waHOOO !! cant wait to see it in the frame . oh and yeah i do love chrome BUT that raw pipe from LED would look so sic on this build
@Three Jacks yes but i look at it like my old colt 45 revolver .a little rust gives it the patina look . my next one will have the LED raw on it

Thank you Chris Villanueva!
This guy is a perfectionist, and gives me inspiration to make a better living for myself and I love to watch him, I can do everything probably even more just don't have the money or time from working so much lol but rock on brother, but if i had your money I would went with a lectron carb would make this build even better. Js
Thank you for the love bro! I worked with ESR on this build and went with the 38mm shorty based on his recommendation; I may try a lectron in the future; a lot of people seem to be pushing me that way.
AMAZING WORK!!!! Thanks mike for the Hard work. TRX 450R Next build.
Thank you bro! đ€
Love the videos with all of the tech!
Canât wait to hear what you think about the 310 vs. the banshee! Looking bad ass! You are inspiring be to re build my 250r motor đ

Thank you for the feedback C Jordan, I appreciated you watching my video!
ha ha beat ya . i just finished my 250r build but you were posting videos of what i did the day before they were uploaded and i finally got it together and mines just a 269 and man am i excited for you man that thing is beautiful. cant wait to see that ceo cylinder scream, thinking of getting one myself but ill see how yours goes before and i also need to get fed up with running 110 in mine with a ridiculously large head. nothing against 110 but the price
Thank you bro; I'm actually picking up 110 today for the first start; its not terribly expensive here; just under 10 bucks a gallon.
@@MichaelSabo I am sooo jealous 64 bucks for 5 gallons
Wow that engine looks bad ass your hard work pays off keep the awesome videos coming đâ
Thank you dennis bagatin!
Epic video man. This is getting so sick! đŹđ€
Thank you Pete đ€đ€đ€
Hey bro, I canât wait for you to do your first ride. Your banshee is a 1 trick pony ( fast in a strait line)
But the trx309r is light and nimble and plenty fast enough to make you happy on the track and trail.
I personally think they arethe best quad ever made. I love removing plastics in under two minutes for maintenance reasons
Hell yea man! I can't wait to finally experience it; I've been hearing things like this since I was like 12!
Skills Mike!
I'm not sure if you showed it in another video, or forgot, but before putting the cylinder on, you should put a couple drops of oil down both the main bearing lubrication holes in the case and a couple drops in the rod/crank bearing slot. Also, I was told by my engine builders at Klemm Research to assemble the piston and cylinder dry or with just a shot of WD-40 on the cylinder walls. It helps in the quicker seating of the rings. You don't want to glaze the walls before seating the rings in. The build is looking awesome though bro. Can't wait to hear that baby fire. Oh, 1 more thing. I know on the 86 - 87 TRX 250's the stock pegs position is high and forward, compared to the 88 - 89. If you get nerfs with built in pegs or just aftermarket pegs that are set to the more optimum position (as close to the swingarm pivot as possible), you may have an issue with the shifter and rear brake pedal length. Something you may want to look into soon. Good luck and keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next vid bro.
Thank you for the info bro; definitely a good idea with oiling the crank, etc. I don't doubt what Klemm is saying; this is just the way I've always done my motors and they seem to hold up and run well; I'll have to research it some more! Yes, I had Factory 43 make me some nerf bars with pro pegs; I'm not sure if it alters the peg position though.
@@MichaelSabo Oh yeah, no worries bud. They just told me that's what I should do when I was on my way to Denver Mile High Stadium. I didn't really have a whole lot of time to break the motor in and seat the rings on the way there, so I had to start the quad, put it in high idle on the trailer, and then drive for a half hour, pull over and shut the quad off. Did that a couple times, stepping the throttle up a bit more each time. Got some funny looks on the way, because people could hear the quad revving on my trailer. lol. Turned out great though, because that's the MTGP ATV main event I won. I even started back in the 3rd row. Yeah, hopefully Factory 43 brought your pegs back and below the swingarm pivot. So much less abuse on your body when you're standing at the pivot.
@@F5Tornado44 thats awesome man; you must be a beast of a rider đ€
@@MichaelSabo Haha, yeah, used to be. Unfortunately, I aged. ; )
I told you that this will be one of the best builds of 2020
Thank you man!

Wow! Awestruck!

Ready for this thing to be ripping great vids đđ»
Thank you bro! đ€
Wow this thing looks amazing bro!! Nice work
Thank you bro! đ€
I put an hpi on my back up motor which was built by allen knowles.. it's a CT350 and the hpi really woke that motor up .
Thank you for the feedback man; I know Allen knows his shit! I'm pretty confident in the HPI too đ€
@@MichaelSabo I set my hpi up @2.9mm btdc , i put the weight on it also .... it could use a heavier weight but I'm not sure if it would make the flywheel move with a heavier weight since there is no keyway
when you install the circlips the Gap needs to point either up towards the Piston or down towards the skirt shouldn't be left of the sidereason being is that the clip is easily compressed that way and could allow it to snap out and do a transfer port. I've seen it happen before I've been in the power sports industry 30 + years
Thank you for the info man; I am hearing the same thing from a few other people too; I will be installing with the opening at 12 or 6 from now on.
Love it! That engine tho đ€€đ€€
Hell yea man! All thanks to you guys! đ€

Thank you bro! đ€
Nice job.
Awesome man!
Thank you Joe Brand!
I was watching this while building my top end and the clip flew in my eye right before he said that
Love your vids manđ€
Thank you Will Naylor!
The opening on the wrist pin clips should be straight up or straight down. They can come out and destroy your top end with the way you installed them. When the piston moves up and down it can actually compress the c clip enough to come out.
I learned this from some other comments; thank you for the info. Personally I've never experienced failure due to wrist pin orientation but I will do 12 or 6 from now on for safe measure. Thanks again!
Love your build
Thank you bro! đ€
Yesssss Iâve been waiting
Looks fricken sick man!
Thank you Cameron Moslavac!
No problem man!
Damn bro thats madđ„đ„
Thank you TheTreepy!
Long live the 250r
Amazing
For that esr pipe badge, you can drill out those rivets, drill new holes to where the badge is suppose to go then pop new rivets and also plugged the other holes with new revits as wellđ
I thought about this but I'm afraid the nickel under the tag might be messed up or something; I can just see it going horribly wrong đ
You could use some of that never dull and buff it out lmao but yea I was nervous too and it worked out all fine on my projectđđ
Looking good đ

Thank you William Douglas!
If You lived on the west coast Iâd say letâs get together and shred. Unlucky for me thatâs not the case.
Prince of TRICK
Mike great build and another great video. but brother the money and time you got into this motor you need to put and air box on it. we all know you wont be running this just on a track. this thing is going to get wet and muddy somewhere. RUN AN AIRBOX
Thank you as always brother! I kept the airbox just in case. For the initial runs, I am going to run it with this setup; it's the way ESR wanted me to run the CEO so I want to at least try it out. I did oil the filter at least but I know it's not the safest option.
Nice
«Let me just put some yamabond on there»đ
lmao; I love me yamabond
You really should change out that ignition to a 00-01 cr250 ignition and also run a 01 cr125/250 carb. Have rob selvy port the carb appropriately to the carb you choose (Iâd go the cr125 carb with that smaller sized engine). You wonât regret the throttle response difference using the bike carb and ignition. If you choose the cr250 carb you probably wonât need port sizing done to match the displacement. Normal carb bore should be sufficient. It was one of the best upgrades Iâve done to all my Trx250râs!
Parabéns sou do Brasil
In the spot where you couldn't get a socket on to use a torque wrench, use a crows foot instead so you can then attach the torque wrench.
Man your videos have saved my ass. Love em!!!!
But is the drive sprocket on backwards?
Awesome Video! Very helpful to those that have never assembled a top end before! If you need to get your squish tighter.....you could just get another DOME....Did you call Eddie Sanders and ask what his recommended Squish is ? Maybe you're running the PUMP Gas dome ???? Are there any markings on the top where the spark plug threads in ? I know on ESR's other non-CEO domes they have numbers that relate to bore & dome style :)
I love the sound of the rattling kickstarter though...
lol
đ
wow!!!
DAAAANNNNNNGGGGGGGG BADASS IS RIGHT
I love the no-nonsense presentation of building the engine, however I need to point out one small mistake. It's a small one but it could wreck your day and none the less .

I love the 250r I would love to have a motor stand like that for my 700. Do you know where I can get one?
