Dead Clout Are you okay?
No manufacturer would hire an engineer who learned by skillshare, especially not the top roller coaster manufacturers who build rides for all of the big parks, so that's been accounted for lol

I’ve said it before and I’ll say this about a thousand times more. As long as rides are properly maintained (breaks checked, restraints working properly, controls working as they should, etc.) and as long as people are following rules, there shouldn’t be any reason that you are less safe riding a roller coaster than you are walking. Having worked as a ride operator myself in an amusement park, I know that there are a TON or precautions, permits, regulations, and rules taken/followed in order for someone to just give an all clear for a ride to start
Just like the Smiler *cough cough it was the park's fault, not the actual ride cough cough* well it is open, yeah!
the problem is we could never really sure if the rides were properly maintained, especially in developing countries. heck, a lot of places can't even properly maintain toilets.
-めぐみん I almost died if someone didn’t help me ( not the actual worker ) . I was having a really difficult time buckling in
Yay popcorn thanks 😸
Exactly. If it is designed and maintained well, and everything gets checked then it should be fine. Plus some of these deaths were just, well, could have been avoided with common sense. Why would you go out of bounds. It's to keep you safe..

Im surprised he didn't go into more detail in the Dreamworld 2016 thunder rapids ride disaster. It didnt happen like it was shown in the the graphic. What happened was the boat flipped onto its side on the conveyor belt at the end of the ride, and 4 of the occupants trapped in the boat got dragged into the actual conveyor belt and slowly chewed up. Ambulance statement after was that the riders had injuries that were incompatible with life.. aka a BRUTAL death... lets just say the waiting lines are much shorter for the rides at dreamworld
And the only survivors are just kids. Now those poor kids don't have any parents 😔
Can this story get any more misreable? ;-;
Chris A, absolutely horrible. To think that was one of my favourite rides.
i was in my last year of school that year and my school was directly across the highway from dreamworld, everyone freaked out when we found out. now when i drive past dreamworld it's very obvious that there are a lot less visitors since the accident

As a former cedar Point employee I can say that most amusement park incidents are the fault of the guest not following posted guidelines or common sense.
Malachi Shanks had the same problem at Kings Island
As someone who works at Worlds of Fun, I can agree with this
Even in the video they included the ones where guests went through restricted areas. This is not a normal death and it's because people didn't pay attention to safety rules. It's so annoying.
@@jonathandpg6115 Yeah, and some of the other ones are also in third world countries with less safety measurement's and also some very old ones. The last UK one for example was a very old ride without a rollback system, on modern rollercoasters theres no way that will happen

These people who get decapitated it's there fault for jumping the fence
He never said otherwise.
There was a little boy decapitated on a water slide in Kansas City last year, he was just riding the ride.
Victoria White Yeah, and the ride was torn down almost immediately after.
rcm 199 i was there. Didn’t see it happen or anything, but the info filtered through the crowd. Things just went on like usual.
010 Incorrect, while the slide was closed immediately after the accident the rides demolition wasn’t allowed to begin till after the criminal case was concluded. Demolition was not even approved until July 2018 as of now the slide is under demolition
The thunder river rapids ride at dreamworld Australia was much more intense than it sounded on here. The people were crushed and mangled in the conveyor belts and the paramedics needed counselling afterwards because of how traumatic the scene was. There were issues with the ride earlier in the day too and they kept it open
David Tony and Cindy are dead, I think about it everyday he said. AAAAhhh poetry. 4:02
😭bro that was supposed to be a sad moment
That dreamworld accident was worse than this made it out to be kids got flung off and survived but some of the adults got crushed to death by the conveyor belt the rafts didnt kill them and it wasnt instant apparently they let out blood curdling screams
They let out screams? Yikes
The bullshit-o-meter its wild on this coment
Al3 Alex the dreamworld thing really happened. I just didn't know if they let out screams, I was kinda hoping the adults had gotten knocked out before they got crushed. The children musta been traumatized.
@@ceebbees12345 Even of they got knocked out, the sudden shock of pain could've woke them up. And then they screamed.
In regards to the Dreamworld one, they weren't crushed to death by the boats, but by the rotating mechanisms underwater which propelled the boats forward.
Dreamworld's poor maintenance has been somewhat of a running joke for a few years but we were still all utterly shocked when people actually died because of it.
My partner and I held year-long passes at the time and had been there a few weeks earlier, my younger sister had actually rode it around the same time and it just hit far too close to home overall, I can't even imagine how the families of the deceased felt :(
I would have thought the 2015 Smiler incident at Alton Towers would be on this list
same
@Spirit Love doesnt make a difference. As the son of a survivor i personally think it should have been on this list not because of deaths, but because of the brutality of the accident
I live in Atlanta, and frequent the Six Flags there. The local rumor is that he wasn't retrieving a lost hat, but attempting to high-five a friend.
It's just a rumor, but having ridden Batman countless times, I find it difficult seeing how picking up a hat puts you nearly 20 feet in the air. The ride has several dips toward the ground, but I can't recall from memory ever being near human-height.
I kinda prefer the rumor to the "official story."' Either way, those fences are there to serve a purpose. Be smart. Stay safe.

Me:
7% on a coster
5% on flat rides
2% other rides
key word: dying, that doesn't include the chances of being seriously injured and being disabled for life.
v Tiger v getting into a car and checking/sending a text message has roughly a 1 in 220 chance to get you into an accident, with 1.5 million incidences of it in the US each year

Half of the info in this video is wrong/exaggerated. Believe me, I have worked a roller coaster at Cedar Point (the largest amusement park in the world) for 2 years and literally rides have so many safety systems it is unreal. Do not think amusement parks are unsafe lol, they're literally x1,000,000 safer than driving a car.
I thought six flags great adventure was the largest (Due to its safari)
Well you can argue that Six Flags Magic Mountain is bigger coaster wise, dunno about land though, anyway Cedar Point and Magic Mountain are the two biggest parks anyway
@2 B There's still a chance, yes, but that chance is so small that you dont have to worry about it
I agree it's rare but safety precautions or safer designs can't save you from human error. Not saying parks are unsafe as long as everyone is following the steps they should be to maintain a safe experience.
RayDLX ok thank you. 🙏🏻

Thank you. Finally someone who doesn’t blame the “engineers.”

It’s not the engineers, it’s the person who maintains the ride. Not only that, but it’s usually the rider’s fault that causes the accidents.

As a ride operator I am happy to say that roller coasters are some of the safest things out there. Your chances of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 100,000 changes of dying on a roller coaster are 1 in 750 million. In the past 20 years there have been an average of 2 deaths per year in the us, many are due to guests hopping fences and getting struck by the ride. Compare that to the 400,000 people per year who die from complications due to sitting down for too long and you see how safe these things are. If you have any safety question or any question at all about rides feel free to comment then here and I’ll respond :)
I guess these people were not "Amused"

Roller coasters and amusement rides are inspected every day, while your car is inspected every year or so. Imagine what's safer?

@@proudtitanicdenier4300 there is a higher chance of dying on the way to the theme park than being in the theme park bro
@@kitkat8986 My point is if the roller-coaster fails it'll suck much more than if the car does.
@@proudtitanicdenier4300 I think you misunderstood the stats. There is a higher chance of DEATH in a car than in an amusment park as well. Not just accidents happen more often but you have a higher chance of the worst scenarios happening in a car then in a amusement par ride.
In my state, cars aren't even inspected.
Both happy and sad that the Mind Bender was included.
My dad used to take my brothers and I to galaxy land every year in the summer.
I wasn’t there when this particular accident happened but a couple years afterward my dad and his friend were on it, their harness’ weren’t locking and they started up the ride.
Luckily just before the first drop the operator heard my dad yelling for him to stop the ride and they got off safely and it was shut down for the day for maintenance.
I love that theme park but I’d never trust that damn rollercoaster ever again.
Dreamworld! I used to go there every month or so with my family. I loved the white water rafting ride. Also, it was an empty raft in front, the ride with the people behind. Some kids got thrown free, but the adults were trapped and were either trapped or drowned. There was a new worker on the ride who had not been properly trained to know of a shutoff button that stopped it immediately. When I first heard it on the road, I thought it would be the buzz saw. That one is terrifying. I never went on it, but my dad who is pretty much scared of nothing hated it, and said that it squishes your stomach. The thing with the white water raft is that it was marketed towards children! Crazy.

The theme parks are in the Goldcoast. Shm
The Edmonton one was quite far off, too, tbh. The point looked like it was more in south-eastern Saskatchewan. Pretty much all of these weren't in the correct spots. But yeah the Australian one was kinda ridiculous.
The park is in the Gold Coast. It’s a great park
1:15 I remember hearing about that on the news!
5:07 how is he holding the stack of coins like that
HE HAS MAGIC
Themepark rides are very safe, there are maybe 5 or 6 deaths a year but mostly they are the riders own fault, just like the guy who loses his hat and then get hit by a train because he wanted to pick it up. There are maybe 1 or 2 deaths that are just malfunctions, but nothing can be completely safe. Even walking or eating are more dangerous then rollercoasters, do you want to rather have a boring life that is completely safe but you don't do anything or a very fun life that has a 0.000001% change of dying.
Exactly. Most deaths and injuries in the U.S are rider and employee faults and not the ride itself. You are more likely to die on the way to the amusement park then in the amusement park.
I rather lock myself in a padded room in an insane asylum for the rest of my life.
@@Mactownization u ned mjölk

Even riding a bike, motorbike, car, plane, etc have its own risk. Even staying home has its own risk. It's about finding a good balance.
I always feel nervous before riding, while waiting in line, and on the lift hill. However, when the loop or drop comes, I enjoy myself and realize that I worried for nothing. I live 3 minutes away from Six Flags Magic Mountain.
The media makes amusement rides seem worse then they are. Driving a car is statistically more dangerous than riding a rollercoaster.
The first story was incredibly big over here. It was pretty much instantly demolished after the accident and it's still talked about a bit. I believe it may still be fenced off, though I never went when it was operating so I can't be completely sure.
As for it's problems... you're entirely right. I went to Dreamworld twice this year (once during peak season and another just a few weeks ago) and a lot of its rides are constantly breaking down. Last time I went, its Tower of Terror II broke down twice in one day, and a motorcycle ride broke down for 20 min during the peak season. It doesn't help that it's surrounded by the Village Roadshow parks (Movieworld, Wet n Wild & Seaworld) who get the most visitors.
I'm pretty sure you need more than just Skillshare to be an engineer

One fact that you forgot to put in was that your odds of dying on a theme park attraction is one in 350,000,000. Meaning, out of the 7.6 BILLION people on this earth, and the hundreds of thousands of theme park attractions available globally, 25 currently living people will die on a theme park attraction. And your odds of getting even a minor injury on a roller coaster is 1 in 61,000,000. Honestly, if you are scared of roller coasters, you should be scared of boats, trains, planes, and even cars, because your likelihood of dying or getting injured on any of those listed is much much much higher. Especially with cars that kill somebody due to distracted or drunk driving every 15 minutes.
Its different cause ppl face cars daily but not roller costwrs
sai avabel then you should be able to face a roller coaster daily too
Fluffs Guffs it’s because roller coasters are just optional things and people would just rather not.
Spencer Grout cars are optional too, if you really wanted to, you could bike or walk wherever you wanted to go whilst also getting plenty of exercise and not hurting the environment.
Fluffs Guffs your statistics are wrong. You're implying that the entire population is using roller coasters. Most of the USA's population is never going to go on a dangerous rollercoaster multiple times.
Oh wow I was expecting to hear about these far away places, mostly in America. I lived in Edmonton for a few years and many of my family still lives there. I’ve literally been on one of these rides, decades later but still wow was not expecting that.
I've grew up going on roller coasters back in late 80's , throughout 90's and 2000's
Before you say you'll never ride a roller coaster, look up some car crashes. Anything can happen but just know roller-coasters are nowhere near as dangerous as other things
Oh that's OK I'll just never go outside or do anything
My room is safe, right?
@@Yetaxa Actually, no. If your room has a ceiling fan, one touch could send you finger off. Also, the electrical outlet can spark out and start a fire. The windows while left open can send in drafts and potentially poisonous animals and insects. Some furniture can fall and injure you. If you have a bunk bed the top bunk can come crashing down and fatally wound you. And of course, your whole room could come crashing down. If your a pessimist, no where is safe. But if you understand the foundations of common sense, you understand the odds of certain things happening.
One question comes to my mind-How infographics show animate so quickly???
Chillnix what do you mean
Chillnix| How do they animate and finish the project for the video?
Or how is the animation so smooth?
How they create so quickly
I’m not sure, but I think there’s a big group of people working in these videos.
If one guy needs 4 hours to do it, two guys do it in 2 hours.
All through the magic of working in a team.

Woooow the mindbender didn’t just fall off the track on the last loop, it’s front wheels came loose and the front cart swerved off the rails before hitting the cement column right before the loop.
Yeah, the guy really didn't go over the events of that accident very well at all. Makes me question the quality of everything else I hear from this channel.
My dad was there when it happened
I went on the first ride (river rapids ride) just months before that happened. It's crazy to think about what could have happened if we had of gone much later.
Should of got a B&M
Missed one...cedar point. Man jumped the fence of raptor to get his wallet back. Train struck him.
but he was being the el stupiedo like the bat man people
Just natural selection doing it's job.
It was his fault not the parks
Watching this while in line waiting for a rollercoaster : )
Just a friendly reminder, if your favorite youtubers make it easy to skip ads by putting them at the end of the video, remember to watch it to support their channel!
At 2:12 when I saw the cursor-thingy, I thought it was a smugde and tried to wipe it out my screen
Reasons why when I'm going on an extreme rollercoaster the first thought I have is,"My life choices are very poor" and "Bye everyone".
you forgot about the smoker that killed ppl and ripped off someone’s leg
*smiler
@@mxgicbunny5214 Nobody was killed in the Smiler crash. There were serious injuries but no fatalities.
That was such a smooth transition to the sponsor.
I meant it as a joke dude. Chill. Believe me, Ik this is a serious video. I was lightening the mood.
I worked at Six Flags Greater Atlanta, I remember those events happening. I also remember one night during an employee night at the park, I was riding on the Superman and my harness wasn't locked down. I had to hold on to the harness to keep from flying off. Scary stuff man
there is no park called Six flags Greater Atlanta...
lmao exposed
@@cullendillistone402 Maybe they meant Georgia and emphasized the Atlanta after the GA
Yeah um most rides have thousands of safety measures that mean that a train won't even leave the station until all the restrains are securely locked...
@@RainbowCharms58 It depends when it happened. Before it was possible and actually happened to my mother in a park here. Nowadays it would not be possible and the restraints also auto-lock unless it's manually released which is only possible at the station which makes it less likely to happen.
I’ve always had a huge fear of rollercoasters. I once was in line for the Anaconda at Kings Dominion and jumped over the loading bay into the bushes and ran back to the center of the park. I just can’t do it. I feel like the one time I ride will be the time bolts come loose and I plummet to my painful death. No thanks.
I still remember the thunder river rapids accident. It was my favourite ride and even though dreamworld lost popularity, I still love it
Me: I waited six hours to ride King Da Ka!
UK government: have a cup of tea and get on with it.
