I never use a wing plowing after the roads have thawed. I drop the snow right on the edge of the road (some melt will stay on the road, but the vast majority drains into the ditch), the full width of the roadway is cleared and available to the public, the snow is typically melts in four days or less, and any accidental gravel displacement is easily recovered. The first and last snowfalls of the season are always tough and require skilled operators to prevent road damage. Keep the great videos coming. I’d love to talk to you compare notes sometime.
Thanks for watching and I really didn’t use my wing much and I’d be interested to visit with you also shoot me an email at graderman140m@gmail.com we can exchange numbers on there if you’d like
I agree hard to plow on gravel but I always enjoyed plowing this type of material on concrete or asphalt as you can get right down to the roadway but this is when you need great horsepower ! ( From Canada ) !
Those conditions make it rough for any type of work. There always seems to be a very fine line between cleaning off just the snow or getting into the the road bed.
Just came across your channel!! we also do work for three townships, we have been running Snowwheels for a long time on our oneway plows, wondering if you used them before?
I have skid shoes on this one way I got a friend who has the wheels and loves it I’m definitely going with the wheels on my next one way plow what area are you in that you do township work? Glad you found the channel thanks for the comment and thanks for watching
@@graderman140m We are located on the west edge of the Metro area, 30 miles west of Minneapolis. We grade, plow, edge disc, mow and do all the culverts and dirt work that is needed. I just order another set of dual Snowwheels last week, they are definitely worth the money, Nice to your videos on CZcams, there is a lot of people that are doing township work that have never been properly trained.
@@schneiderexc3557 awesome not that far from me then I’m on the west side of Sioux Falls and yes there are a lot of operators doing township work that never get taught the proper way that’s why I started my channel hoping to help other operators out I also do hands on motor grader training for my local LTAP we go around to a lot of county’s and townships and train there operators.
@@graderman140m that’s great!, it seems like a lot of townships hire who ever they can get at the time, being close to the Metro they can’t compete with the union wages and don’t have steady work either, it works for us being a union contractor, because when we are rained out some of the operators can keep on working.
It is a falls wing and one way plow I like the balderson wing better and the balderson v plow better then the falls but I really like the falls one way plow only time I put v plow on is when I got heavy drifting and blocked roads otherwise use the one way.

how many townships do you look after. where i live we have Rural Municipalities (RM) they consist of nine townships
I grade for 5 different townships I plow snow for 4 of them so keeps me plenty busy
Is that a Falls wing plow? And if is how do u compare it to Balderson

i run 55 on my wing side i run 60 in my fronts with plow on and 45 on my left side tandem.
@@graderman140m Thanks! Appreciate it
Do you have shoes or wheels on your one way?
I have skid shoes on this one way
