    Beautiful pedals, I have an original Zen 2 and I love it.

    I dig the Zen 2 with the tube. Sounds more harmonically richer.

    Really good demo man. Sounds fantastic and done by someone who can actually play guitar! soooo many bad demos of the Zendrive out there that sound like the amp is covered by a blanket or something. Awesome video!

    Love the V1 on low gain set, and the modded on hi gain set.

    So Cool to hear how my Zen Drive stacked up against the others in the review (min'es the one on the left - for those who don't know)! Thanks for the shout out! Much appreciated!

    I have a 2009 ZD1 - Voice up for neck pup …. Great pedal … prefer for lead, but kicks stacked with a Steel String Singer for deep OD .

    Hey Camilo, just for reference, what’s the clean channel you’re playing through?

    • @CamiloVelandia
      @CamiloVelandia  Před 5 lety

      Dave! It’s actually the dumble model in the Axe FX 3

    They all sound great. I have an original made by Alf. The 2 has a tube in it, if I remember correctly, yes?

      No!

      Haha yes indeed it does. I own both an original Zen and Zen2. Liked them both back in the day, but preferred the 2. The tube just sounded more organic.

      I am sorry I was wrong. Probably because I just build one with a switch that could switch between ´vers1´ and ´vers2´. That must then be 2 different versions of Zendrive 1. One has a silicium diode and the other has a germanium diode in the clipping circuit, it makes quite a difference.

    so where is all the other processing coming from , IE Reverb and Echo ? How about a demo with no other effects.

    It would have been a better comparison if you had used a small (20 watt) tube combo amp. Axe fx react nothing like a real amp when volumes go up&down.
    I am certainly not not a hater of digital!! Obviously you got some good tones from it

    • @CamiloVelandia
      @CamiloVelandia  Před 4 lety +2

      I'm not sure if you've played fractal stuff before, but I have to disagree. I feel like it reacts like an amp. Keep in mind that the preset that I had was based on a dumble with the preamp just about breakup. Adding more input signal at that point won't increase in volume, but rather in saturation. Perhaps what you are referring to is what happens to, say, a Fender Twin at volume 2 or 3, the big jump in volume from added gain.

    ALL your other effects are bouncing around in the background..... Thought it was about Zen..zen ....zenn....zennnn echo--o--oh

      I could've used less verb, but to be honest, I don't think that's a lot of verb at all. To my ears, it sounded good for what I was playing, and I also don't think it affected the difference of the three pedals. But thats to my ears! Thanks for watching!
