Weber changed their manual regarding leg clips to how you suggested - clips into legs first, not the kettle.

Last year I bought this master-touch myself but I wish I would have known about their new master touch for 2019. That 1 has more better features and a spring action lid.
I just checked out a video showing the new hinged lid. It's nice but I find that I like to have full 360-degree access to the grill by completely removing the lid. I'm not sure if you can do that easily with the 2019 model. I also have to admit that I really can't say that I wouldn't like it better since I don't have one to compare it directly to mine. It's good to see Weber making upgrades to there grills though. Thanks for watching.

Hi, I am trying to decide between the 5770 master touch premium and the standard master touch 5755 without the Hinge lid; I see that the ring and plate are a huge benefit but is there still issues with the hinge after a fix? and with Gasket tape - basically is it not worth the risk and just to get the standard master touch because of the lid not closing - or is it resolved nowadays/ fixed with the hack? what would you recommend between the two models?
I would get the one that I have again. It works great and you can completely remove the lid if you want or need to. No issues with the lid seating properly either.
