I have a 2019 Grizzly 700 XTR which I mounted an American Eagle Snowplow to.....couple of mods with my machine is I run the Camo tracks year round on my atv. and the snow plow is a front mount. I ran a yamaha big bear 400 with a 4ft blade for a couple years. drawbacks to the blade and mount you show is the blade has a fixed height you can bring it up, and the atv /plow will allow you to push snow to a pile, but not "up" onto a pile, so you end up with a large horizontal pile of snow. The setup I am running this year with the new machine, has no problem pushing snow with a 66" blade and side wings mounted to gather the snow.. No issues with amount of snow, and has no issuing raising the plow over 2 ft with the front mount, but with the tracks able to push the snow and climb a pile, created a snow pile of over 6 ft so far that the kids in the neighborhood love to play on. My opinion from using both....avoid the undermount plow setups, front mounts so much easier to hook and unhook, add tracks to atv for snow and mud play.....then you can really enjoy year round. good review though, almost wants to make me get everything out and film my own review of my setup....love my beast!!!

I bought my Kodiak 450 new in 2005 to hunt my property in the Poconos Mountains, and because I bought it in January it came with a Warn winch and plow. It has been used hard and put away wet. It has been durable, maintenance friendly, and the only parts I have changed were spark plugs, oil, and filters. I see the plow arrangement hasn't changed since then, but it works just fine. This machine is now working on my farm in Missouri with the same tires and plastic. It is one tough machine. Yamaha's new machines should be just as tough.

I've always loved Yamaha, I've had a few of them over the years 4 4-wheelers, 2 Ski-doos, 1 outboard, and a '67 street and dirt. If I'm being honest I haven't really considered a new Yamaha as an option because they don't really have a good mud package or the power of other manufacturers. Reliability wise, you can't beat Yamaha though.

    Excellent video.
Pro Vantage plow is the gold standard. But even this one has some problems.
It takes a while to put on. It was hard for him to take out the cotter pins because there is no graphite grease on them. I coated them with dry lube.
There is also no lube on the red lever assembly, which is why he had trouble getting it to lock back into place. I sprayed dry lube here.
There is also no lube on the base plate that lets you angle the blade which makes it hard to change blade angle. I put lithium grease under the baseplate.
Those skids are also metal base and will scratch up paved driveways. I put some felt sheets under them.
The pin that holds the winch to the plow also breaks easily. I made my own assembly here.
I modded my Pro Vantage to remedy these problems. And now it is a great plow and I can clear snow off of big paved driveways easily. Still the best and I would not consider buying something else.

I have a 2011 Grizzly 700 EPS. I friggen love it! I pull trees out of the woods with the winch. I have a trailer that i fill to the brim with gravel for my driveway. I also push a 300-400lb 50" snowblower up my driveway, in the snow belt of NY!
I love the darn thing. It has tons of torque. The only drawback for mine is that it have 1500 hrs on the stock tires and they are ready for an upgrade.
I love the "rough, coarse" sounding engine. It is a 700 thumper! There is nothing refined about that. :)

If you go a little bit faster with the plow at an angle the snow seems to push to the side more easily, and if you are sure it is a smooth surface and go really fast the plow will slightly throw the snow. Great review and info!

I bought a cheaper quadrax plow for my older kodiak, it is a quick and easy disconnect. Pull the handle on the plow frame and it slides right off. To put it back on you line it up and push it back and it’s on. I would expect something easier from a factory option.

I had a 15 Grizzly for 3 years. Fun machine, but that short wheel base and big single cylinder low end torque was a problem on steep hills. Way to easy to pull the front tires of the ground, especially in 4wd low. I rolled mine twice, and almost rolled it a half dozen more. Needs a longer wheel base and twin cylinder with less down low and more mid range power.

      @AV8R_1 Před 2 lety +1

@@chozen_1309 I used the WARN 54” ProVantage plow system with a front mount bracket. There is a mid mount bracket if you want to avoid all of the plows weight being on the front of the machine. This would give you better traction, but I never had any issue with the front mount bracket. I had no choice but to use the front bracket because my Grizz had a full skid plate underneath it.

Great bike, worth mentioning is the 686 Yamaha engine. Yamaha went back to their own engine in 2019 after many issues with the Fuji 700 they ran from 2016-2018. It's a basic bike with a great proven powertrain, one the best automatic transmissions in the business. Im non bias ride a 2019 Can Am 1000 XTP on tracks in eastern Canada. If and when Yamaha bring a V Twin I'll stick with my can am.

Come on Yamaha with Warn,...Warn is falling behind the times. They have had a lot of problems lately and even CanAm has switched ( for the most part ) to SuperWinch.
When it comes to snow plows,..CanAm and Polaris have gone with the 'click and go' hook up for a while now. Reaching under a nice clean machine is maybe ok, but not realistic is it?
Now I like Yamaha, this one's real machine with power, but that Warn system is OLD!
Stephen , how the heck are you going to get ALL THAT SNOW removed in just one day??? I know, I know, this is a demonstration only.
Stephen and TFL-O are good but they cannot control the weather, more's the pity!

and it means Mountain leaves (Feuilles de montagnes ou montagne de feuilles pour les francophones)
In japanese "Yama" means "mountain" and "Ha" means "leaves"

Alex MacLean I don’t know about them being the worst of all worlds. I wish they would come out with a twin but there is a reason their single 700 is the same price as anyone else’s 800 twin, and quality and reliability is the word. I do agree the plow mount design is awful for a factory option

I bought a brand new Grizzly in 2018 and it has more than enough power for any trails in the eastern USA. It most certainly does not have an outdated engine and it certainly does not need a 100 HP Twin.
