Check out their performance of "A Quick One While He's Away" from The Rolling Stones "Rock and Roll Circus." Moon is younger and his timing and power are unmatched. The Who at their height.
You are right. That is the best version of AQOWHA.
Yes! With all the reactors on YT, canât believe it has barely been done. Amazing performance.
@@flsp81 Youre so right, I've watched this performance countless times and im still mesmerised by it. Every member of The Who giving their all, absolutely fantastic. For blowing The Stones away at their rock and roll circus Pete and Co - You are forgiven....
I'm no drummer, but when I see Keith on the drums, He always looks like he's just goofing off. That's why I believe he was the best drummer in Rock-n-Roll.
One of the best drummers and bass players in Rock history in this band. Four front men in one band, iconic.
WONâT GET FOOLED AGAIN is another great song by The Who.
Keith, at the time, was billed as the fastest 18 year old drummer at the time. He and I started playing drums at the same age. He died way too early and is missed. The Who is another very deep rabbit hole to look into, especially their mini-opera, "Tommy." I have every album they released. In this song, they ask "who the fuck are you", and it wasn't censored out until about ten years ago. LOL
I don't think that last bit is actually true. It wasn't censored on the ALBUM....but the single release, as I recall, was changed to "who the HELL are you?". At least, in the U.S.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but the Muppet "Animal" (the drummer) was 100% modeled after Keith Moon. Watch their performance of "A Quick One (While He's Away)" from The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus* and it'll be obvious. [* -1968, filmed for BBC but not released]
Bloody love The Who, Keith Moon (the drummer) was absolutely magnificent and frequently had to have a huge industrial fan behind him on stage as he was prone to drifting off in a drug induced haze! Taken too soon "Dear boy" as Oliver Reed called him. đ„
I fricking LOVE THE WHO! đ€ The drummer is Keith Moon. Bass guitarist is John Entwistle. Lead vocals is Roger Daltrey. Songwriter and lead guitarist is Pete Townshend. The WHO have an immense catalog of great songs and Rock Operas.
If you are going down this road and like seeing live performances, looking at the live versions of "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Baba O'Reilly" from Shepperton Studios concert (1978 was the year I think) is REQUIRED. Trust me.
Sadly the drummer, Keith Moon, died shortly after this video was made. One of the GOATs.
Their Won't Get Fooled Again has the most iconic scream in rock and roll...........it's a finger up the butts of politicians/govt.............great song!!!!!
Keith Moon's nickname was Moonie the Loonie. đ€Ł He was known for that energy. Please react to Baba O'Reily. Hands down my favorite Who song. These guys have legendary status up there with Led Zeppelin, etc.
They had to duckt tape Keith Moon's headphones to his head.
This song is based on a day in the life of Pete Townshend. It began with a very long meeting dealing with royalties for his songs: "Eleven hours in the Tin Pan, God, there's got to be another way." The "Tin Pan" he is referring to is Denmark Street, the "Tin Pan Alley" of London where many music publishers and songwriters were based.
Read the whole songfacts - it shares way more about the actual song! Pretty cool story. đ
Saw the Who in my home town in the UK in the mid 60's. They were just brilliant. I was 14 and it was my first ever concert. It was what got me into rock music
This version is cool, a different studio take than the album version, I love how Keith has his headphones duct-taped to his head, so many great Keith Moon stories; the Smother Brothers comedy hour performance is great, Keith put gun powder in his bass drum and blew it up at the end of the performance, blasted Pete Townsends eardrum, check out that video for fun sometime.
That's so cool that you peeped out Keith Moon's contribution to 'The Who'. He was one of the greatest drummers of all time. The Who was phenomenal because all of them was amazing together.đđŸđ”đżđ”đ¶đ
Not surprised you recognized one of the greatest drummers of all time. RIP Keith.
The drummer Keith Moon was the real rock'n'roll soul of The Who đ„đ€
I am not willing to say he his the soul instead of Pete Townshend, who wrote all the songs, but he might be the greatest rockânâroll drummer of all time.
Keith Moon was a genius on the drums. The greatest rock drummer of all time IMHO. Check out A Quick One @ The Rock and Roll Circus and Sparks @ Woodstock...The Who in their prime. Two of the greatest performances you'll see in rock.
I saw The Who live in concert in Miami in the early 1970âs. I saw them on TV more recently (approximately 2018) on the Jimmy Fallon Show. They havenât missed a beat. Check out their live performance at Woodstock in 1969.
Sadly, The Who drummer Keith Moon passed away in 1978, shortly after this video was recorded (R.I.P. đȘ) ... He was nicknamed 'Moon the Loon' for his outrageous behavior offstage and his incredible drumming skills onstage. His lifestyle of drugs & alcohol finally caught up to him, but ironically... he died using pills to curb his alcoholism. If u listen to the live album from 1970 'Live at Leeds' by The Who, u can hear Keith Moon just banging away through the songs... He was definitely 1 of the first drummers who became a rock star, when The Who debuted in 1965.
It was Keith Moon who decided to use a small cannon to fire off in his drum kit in The Who's American TV appearance in 1967, but used a lot more explosives without telling anyone, including the band... When The Who performed the song 'My generation', they were supposed to end w/ the cannon making a bang... but instead, the detonation exploded the drum kit, nearly taking off guitarist Pete Townshend's head and slicing Moon's arm w/ a cymbal... The Who had arrived in America.
The Who carried on in 1979 without Keith Moon, but they lacked the beat they once had...
The original band was Roger Daltrey (lead vocals), Pete Townshend (guitar), John Entwistle (bass) & Keith Moon (drums) ... Their music elevated the aggression level in rock n' roll. Check out The Who classics - 'Happy Jack' ... 'My generation' ... "Baba O'Reilly" ... "The real me" ... "Won't be fooled again" ... 'Magic bus' ... "I can't explain" ... 'Pinball wizard' đ„đ„đ€đ€
Bassist John Entwistle passed away in 2002 đȘ Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey kept The Who touring w/ live musicians, including drummer Zak Starkey, the son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr...
The drummer is the "Heartbeat of the Band" especially with Keith Moon at the helm then add Townsend's guitar and Roger Daltry's voice pure magic!!!
Don't forget the brilliant John Entwistle
@@christinerobinson3819 I couldn't think of his name but your right to point him out too!!
@@aileenturrietta7553 Don't you find it's often the way with the bass player though? People always struggle with their names. E.g John Deacon from Queen.....John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin......Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath etc
@@christinerobinson3819 I do!! You can include John Lodge of the Moody Blues. One of my favorites.
Glue is the word to describe the drummer in a band, they provide the heart beat.
You would regret not reacting to "won't get fooled again" live at Shepperton studios. An amazing live performance. Thank you for another great reaction with your focus particularly on the great Keith Moon. Legendary drummer!!!!
Good thing about being 63, Is I went to a lot of great concerts in the 70s and 80s,. The Who in 76 and 82,. Jethro Tull was my first concert in 1971,. And I never stop going to concerts,.The Stones,. Zeppelin,. Clapton,. Dylan,. Eagles,. Queen,. Linda Ronstadt,. James Taylor,. Elton John,. Jackson Browne,.Paul Simon,.Joe Walsh,. Prince,. Crosby stills Nash,. Neil Young,. Chicago,. Doobies,. Aerosmith,. Van Halen,. Yes,. Kiss,. Over 400 more,.
Next Queen video,. I want to break free,.
An automatic volumn-upper for me for the last 40 yearsâ„ïž
Dunno if anyone else has mentioned this here but Keith Moon was the inspiration for 'Animal' on the Muppet Show.
Tina Turner singing the song Acid Queen from The Who's movie Tommy is incredible as it is intense, a great video to check out.
Drum Fills, Within Drum Fills. Controlled Chaos. "Sound Chaser" by Yes, Alan White Drummer
If you've ever watched the CSI shows you'll recognise this from CSI Las Vegas (I think) . Other songs of theirs were used in other CSI shows
The Who wrote a song called "Long Live Rock". Reacters are showing that it ain't dead yet.
Good driving home in the evening song. Gets you fired up for life its self.
Keith was as crazy as he was good, as a drummer..Can make a case for him being the best rock drummer, and I wouldn't be mad at you..Notwithstanding Bonham, Baker, and all the rest..Keith takes a back seat to no one..A shame he left us so young, but he was the "Real" candle in the wind...Some people just aren't made to live out into their golden years.
And John Entwistle is one of the best bass players in rock music, in the running for GOAT! And congrats on the car, cool to hear, great reaction vids, keep it up, we'll be here, peace.
The best.
Have to love that Keith Moon is such a maniac on the drums that they needed to duct tape the headphones to his head.
I love your channel this is the music of my life rock classic rock heavy metal and grunge I am 59 I have been to At least 30 concert and did Mosh pits was surf waved from the back of the concert and passed over everybody head to get on stage with skid row and I was in my late 20s seen my first concert was a wake up Alice Cooper welcome to My nightmare that woke me up to rock and roll before that it was bubble gum music like Elton John always hated Disco it sucks keep on Rockin đ€
Kieth moon was full on nuts, and you never knew what would happen next,Quote from Joe Walsh.đšđŠđđșđž
The high energy drummer. Keith Moon. Moon the Loon. He was known for destroying drum kits and hotel rooms and driving a Rolls Royce into a swimming pool. High energy indeed.
THE WHO will always entertain you live. "A Quick one" from the Rolling Stones Rock n Roll circus is a good one to start with. "Won't get fooled again" or "Baba O'Riley" from the Kilburn concert (1977) are top tier too.
Check out the video where he blows up the drum kit. Very funny, he was a maniac!
The Who got alot of great songs. 1. BABA O'RILEY, 2. BEHIND BLUE EYES, 3. MY GENERATION, 4. WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN, 5. THE SEEKER... there is alot more great songs from The Who.
Love The Who shame I can only give you one thumbs up for this.
England gave us The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones..to give you just a wee taste of the rock talent from across the Pond.
Check out their live 1978 version of won't get fooled again and baba o'riley
You sir have a great appreciation to the artistic vibe in these Classic Rock vids. And yes, you caught on early on the important magnitude of the drummer, the great Keith Moon!
keith moon was the drummers name. he was a character and a half.
Its criminal how catchy this song is. đ
they use this song for the theme of the CSI series actually all the different CSI series's use the music from the who
drummer Keith Mood was an absolute madman drummer. some say Animal from the Muppets is based on him!
i love how keith has his headphones taped on to his head.
Notice the electrical tape around Keith's (the drummers) headphones? Yeah, to keep them from flying off his head because of the ferocity he played with...
Moonie had a bass drum with water and goldfish at one point on tour
There's a great video on youtube entitled "Keith Moon Stays Hydrated" which shows Keith absolutely going to town on the drums. It's so great to see Keith feeding off Pete and Pete feeding off Keith as the performance gets more intense throughout the clip. Here's a link to it: czcams.com/video/vCupJpymgfE/video.html
Their live versions of Young Man Blues are beyond sensational! Also try The Ox, Moon's drumming drives it along at 90 mph. Amazing.
My Generation is another good one from the Who.
Classic Keith Moon! Good reaction.
Greatest Rock Band Ever
Queen and the Whođ
This is the theme song for CSI.
RIP Keith Moon. Funny wacky man but back in the 70s mental illness was a negative stigma. Still is I guess. But alcohol and drugs were a way to push the issues behind the personality. He was actually trying to kick the substances. To assist he was given a drug to help with withdrawal and told not to exceed 3 a day. When he was found, he had ingested 32 pills.
Pete Townsendâs iconic guitar and sexy Roger Daltreyâs voice made this band one of the quintessential forces in 70s rock. I understand your comments about the fun and that one bandmate with that smile. Understand these musicians were under extreme pressure to write and record records. You had to have 11-12 songs before they would release and album. Then hit singles were released from the album. Record companies were relentless. Then once you released the album, you did concert tours for months without going home or resting. Yes Keith made life fun. But look what it cost him. After KeithâŠ. Records were different and the group lost interest. They split in 83. Only appearing together for special music events. When the drummer John Bonham of Led Zeppelin died similarly, the band just stopped. âThe bandâ is the family.
Check out Eminence Front, a song that is one of my favorites and I don't think gets enough credit. Great opening solo!!
That joy is contagious!
Drummer the wonderful wild Keith Moon.
MOON THE LOON
For me the, the testament to Keith's genius as a drummer is that it's nearly impossible to "sound" like him. It's really rare to hear other drummers refer to one another as sounding like Keith Moon. Indeed, The Who struggled for years to find another drum to could come close. They finally settled on Zak Starkey, who is a great drummer, and does an admirable job shadowing Keith. Keith's style, and you can see it in this video, is that he only occasionally played his fills from right to left as most right handed drummers do. Keith attacked the kit head-on and played outward to both sides simultaneously. He also rarely used a high hat, preferring instead a crash cymbal.
The who are a British national treasure legendary band . Keith moon is or if not the greatest drummer ever . Fun fact animal of the muppets is taken from him hence his name is moon the loon.
this is a demo version...listen to the finished product and you will appreciate the production value
You know, that drummer is one of the top three in rock history.
BTW. He was taken way too soon.
Won't Get Fooled AgainđđŸđ”đżđ¶đđ„
I watch this video just to see Keith Moon play...
Not everyone can carry off the "GAFFA TAPE ROUND THE HEAD" LOOK. iT'S SUCH A GOOD IDEA THOUGH WHEN YOU'RE HEADBANGING TO ACDC ETC WITH HEADPHONES ON AT 3AM - But I just look like a dick. Keith looks cool.
The dude you're digging is Keith Moon. Died too young. He's up there with the greatest.
If you want to hear a great song off this same album, with a great story, give 905 a listen!
This version is missing the last verse but still so good. I love them all and a favorite band but watching Keith Moon the loon on drums oh yeah!
Would you consider yourself a rock fan now after doing reactions?? Sometimes, one might look around at their messy house that they have to clean up and think, " This job calls for AC/DC" or something like that. Are you finding yourself listening to rock sometimes just for the heck of it? Because you like it?
MOON THE LOON - LEGEND
Had to go back and catch up on your vids, extra love for the Eminem , Tom MacDonald, Queen ones. Was in High school when Eminem came out with the Marshall Mathers LP. Turning 36 God spare me and its great to see another generation enjoy great music the way I enjoyed the music you're reacting to now. Check out Won't get Fooled again â
R.I.P. Keith Moon .
đđâ
moon the loon!
"Wont get fulled again" next
Where's your lady? I wish that she see it too :)
đđ»â„ïž
Moon the loon - unfortunately not on top form here, it's the same year he died. Really he was a huge energy generator for the band, and for everyone around him during his short life.
" You know what i'm sayin"....say it one more time bro, lol.
What's with the ghost screen can't see the video
One of the all time great drummers. Unfortunately he liked to party too hardy
Where's the pretty one..?
Interesting fact. Ringo Starr's son is the drummer for the Who now! Has no interest in the Beatles!!!!
Sounds like Keith Moon.
I do actually know what you're saying and what you mean, because you're speaking English.
killing it in the UK means ,you are ruining it
The Who = Lead singer, lead guitarist, lead basis, lead drummer ... shame drugs took away the drummer
They're crazy entertaining. The drummer is bad
