The Who are an English rock band formed in London in 1964. Its core lineup consisted of lead vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, and have sold over 100 million records worldwide.... "Baba O'Riley"..."Pinball Wizard"..."My Generation"..."Won’t Get Fooled Again"... "Behind Blue Eyes".... :I Can See For Miles"... So many more...

Can You See The Real Me"- " Behind Blue Eyes" rocked the baseball stadium 😁 A band called Loverboy was their front band, wasnt familiar with them, they were tight as hell! Wicked good concert!

Keith Moon drumming style was tribal, primitive, and impulsive, with him often stomping the bass drums and pounding his wall of toms like a madman. Arms flailing around wildly. Yet his drumming was often surprising and always made an impression. With perfect timing and tempo always maintained. Moon's contribution to The Who's music and his influence on other drummers cannot be overstated. He was the first Crazy Man WHO set the standard for all others after him.

John Entwistle Bass Guitar for The WHO..... The Who’s John Entwistle had a lot of nicknames, including the Ox, due to his imposing build and endless appetites, and the Quiet One, because of his stoic demeanor. But the most apt was one Thunderfingers, a name bestowed upon him because every time he played a note on the bass it sounded like a vicious storm coming over the horizon. It was a style he developed to be heard while playing on the same stage as flamboyant showboats Keith Moon and Pete Townshend, but he brought a remarkable fluidity and grace to his role that was unlike anything anyone had ever heard before. Simply put, he treated the bass like a lead instrument and made it stand out as much as any guitar. And his chunky solo on “My Generation” inspired countless teenagers to pick up the bass, though emulating his playing was a near-impossible task. “Entwistle was arguably the greatest rock bassist of them all,” said Rush’s Geddy Lee, “daring to take the role and sound of the bass guitar and push it out of the murky depths while strutting those amazing chops.”

Another very influential British band from the same era are The Kinks, Ray Davies is one of the great English songsmiths of the last century. Their first major hit was You Really Got Me, one of the earliest heavy metal riffs ever recorded and most of their sixties output were typically songs about the many aspects of British daily life from the working class grime of the factories to middle class boredom, well worth a listen and would love to see your reactions to Dead End Street, Waterloo Sunset, Sunny Afternoon, Autumn Almanac and the like.

The WHO….. “The Kids Are Alright” Tour 1989. Rich Stadium Buffalo N.Y……..Roger stands front/center and Jogged the entire time singing this song looking backwards like he was being chased.. He was 45 years old… AWESOME
After the concert the Who were being interviewed on the local radio station and the DJ asked the band…. “So what do you think about that new RAP music coming out”…. Roger Daltrey laughed and started to answer when John Entwistle said….. “let me answer this one….. It seems to me that if you can’t write music, can’t play music, can’t sing music, if you know absolutely nothing at all about music, well then, you do rap now don’t you”….. Then. Pete Townshend said….. “If Hitler was going to come back and torture the world again he would use rap music. Roger Daltrey laughed and said…. “Isn’t that the truth”

    "Who Are You"
Who are you? Who, who, who, who?
Who are you? Who, who, who, who?
Who are you? Who, who, who, who?
Who are you? Who, who, who, who?
I woke up in a Soho doorway
    A policeman knew my name
He said, "You can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away."
I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
    I remember throwin' punches around
    And preachin' from my chair
    Well, who are you?
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
    I really wanna know
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
    Tell me, who are you?
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
    'Cause I really wanna know
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I took the tube back out of town
    Back to the Rollin' Pin
I felt a little like a dying clown
With a streak of Rin Tin Tin
I stretched back and I hiccuped
And looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the Tin Pan
God, there's got to be another way
    Well, who are you?
(who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
    Oh, who are you?

Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees
I spit out like a sewer hole
    Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?
    Well, who are you?
