Seeing Ant-man casually stop a truck in the middle of the street makes me realize how much I miss seeing superheroes help everyday people. No stopping terrorists, or super villains, or saving the world, just using their powers to help normal people. We saw Spider-man do this a bit, but I hope we can see the other Marvel heroes doing these smaller but still very heroic deeds. :-)

Right? I love the "lighter" Marvel movies, like this and Thor: Ragnarok. The gravitas of the main story movies gets a little over-the-top sometimes. You can only take so many world or galaxy-threatening situations before you kind of get numb to them.

I think first Ant Man, first Thor and first Captain America are the most underrated movies of MCU.
This movie is for me one of the best MCU movies. It’s not trying to be anything huge and revolutionary, but it’s not trying to be a classic hero versus villain story either. This movie is more about many people with different problems intercepting, which turns into conflict or resolution (Ant-Man with house arrest, Ghost with her phasing problem, Hank and Wasps need to rescue Janet, Sonny Birch and his mission to get Quantum tech on the black market and into the future for consumers, etc.). Besides that, the comedy was golden, the action was fun and kinetic, the characters were great (including new additions), and pairing of Ant-Man and the Wasp was just perfect. I guess you can say *it takes two to make a thing go right* indeed. Ghost was one of the most sympathetic yet tragic antagonists of the MCU, who also uses her phasing abilities to make some of the best and most creative scenes. In fact, the only thing that makes her a villain and not an antihero are the desperate measures she will go to to survive. She’s very complex and tragic, and keeps the streak of great MCU villains going. Also, those end credits scenes were great, and neatly set up Ant-Man in a way for Avengers 4 next year. Who else thought this movie was amazing?

Yeah except I wish they focused on her more, made the stakes higher and more serious and i didnt exactly like how hank's wife can just temperarily resolve her solution. Too many strings tied up. Other than that, I loved it!!!!!!
I would have to disagree a bit. The movie was great, I quite enjoyed it. But naming it "one of the best MCU movies" just doesn't feel right in my opinion, considering you'd be comparing it to Civil War, Ragnarok and Infinity War.
My main issue with Ant Man and The Wasp is almost the same as the first one. A lot of things just doesn't make sense, and there are no emotional weight behind the motivation and the action from how the plot were presented. The solution of Ghost's problem was there for the sake of the plot, they forced a weak reasoning to why she couldn't just wait until Hank saved his wife instead of waiting for a better solution, like seriously, Hank and Janet are two of the smartest scientists in the Marvel Universe aside from Reed Richards, Shuri and Tony Stark, and she couldn't wait because of some energy siphon pseudoscience BS, like, what?? Also, have you ever heard the saying "a hero or the story is only as good as the villain"? a "villain" in this case refers to the actual physical representation or the conflict in the case of story telling. All and I mean *ALL* of the greatest fictional work of all time can be traced to how good the villains are. Star Wars were good because of Vader, Infinity War is good because of Thanos, the most critically acclaimed Batman movies were there because of the villain, even in the case of stories like One Punch Man where the main character completely outshine his villain was well received because of the villain (the irony). Ant Man and the Wasp does not have a good villain, the movie could have easily been one of the best MCU movie if that was the case.
Nico I’m not saying that they are not as great as this one, but every MCU movie that is known as “the best” to certain people is “the best” for its own reasons. Ragnarok was the best because of the sheer comedy and redemption of the character Thor. Infinity War was the best for its fight scenes, the culmination of the entire MCU into a fluid film, and it’s staggering ending. Winter Soldier was the best because of its grounded and gritty feel, mixed with a 70’s spy flick style. Black Panther was the best for its portrayal of Wakanda, characters, diversity, and brutal yet emotional villain. You get my point by now. I thought Antman and the Wasp was the best for the reasons I mentioned, but that shouldn’t take away from the rest of those movies that are still the best, but slightly better. Still, it’s my opinion, and I respect yours.

I still love watching the Ant-Man films, and they still hold up significantly because of the set-up they make for Avengers: Endgame. Tony Stark may have created time travel but the concept of it and the Time Heist wouldn't have been possible without Scott's knowledge and Hank's Pym Particles, so they do deserve some due credit. And I love seeing Scott and Hope work together in action 🐜🐝 Can't wait for the next one, especially with Kang the Conqueror as the main villain!!! And Cassie Lang suiting up as Stature, which means she'll be part of the Young Avengers

After 19 movies that range from decent to fantastic, I think it’s safe to say I have 100% faith that the MCU will continue to deliver. They could make 3-D Man and I’d still probably watch it opening weekend. And yes, 3-D Man is an actual Marvel character.
