Just got the documents for my bike in the mail. This was a life saver, I almost got stuck with a $4000 driveway decoration because the people i bought this bike from screwed me with a jumped title. I did everything through the Burlington DMV. I called them told them my situation and they told me everything i needed to send them. the bike is a 2008 so its right at the 15 year cut off, so I'm getting a title as well not just the Registration.

If a car previously had a salvage title that was rebuilt, do I need to do a VIN Verification if I am applying for a B.O.S. registration from VT (out of state)? The car was last titled in Colorado with a salvage title, but I reside in Pennsylvania and purchased the car (without title) in PA.
I am going to try to get a motorcycle registered in Vermont. It is new and I have an MCO and Bill of Sale (with all the info needed, including "0" miles). Do I have to ask the dealer to fill out and sign the Vermont Bill of Sale form VT-005? I hope not.
Just did this for a motorcycle. Plates came within 10 days and YOU DO NOT NEED A VIN CERTIFICATION. I called them and asked twice and they said they doubt it will ever come back even for motorcycles. I didn’t do one and got the plates n reg. As long as it ain’t stolen or have a lien you’re good.

I bought an s10 for 400 dollars but the nada value (low) its 2600 dollars… so in this case i would use the highest of the two which is nada value, if my truck was bought for 6000 dollars then i would choose the purchase price for the tax calculation instead of the nada value

Does anyone know if the dmv picks their mail up at the post office? For some reason tracking says it was picked up at the post office at 4:55am as of Monday the 19th which is an odd time. I sent the paperwork priority with tracking so id know when it arrived. Of course it took days longer than it should have, gotta love paying more to take longer lol. And I thought it was odd that it says it was picked up and not just delivered. The dmv is almost next door to the post office so maybe thats how they get their mail? Of course I call the dmv and never get through, post office is no help. So here i am hoping the right person took delivery of the papers. Now im just watching my bank account to see if they cash the check. Edit: Heard from the post office and they said it was picked up by the state of Vermont mail room. Was told they pick up for many state agencies but didn't have anything beyond that. So now im like do they deliver to the dmv? Or dmv pickup from them? Something seems off. I sent with just a regular stamp the first time and it made it I think quickly but they kicked it back to me due to a mistake on the check. So this is the second time sending and I went priority. No clue how they receive their mail but could be this mail room that picked it up.

ok, no answer here but I got it from DMV Vermont so you know neither the blue book nor nada book had my moped listed. they told me they also have no listing for it so the least they will do taxes on it was 500.00 on any so I was to put 100.00 paid for nada value500.00. total value 30.00 registration and 30.00 tax total 60.00 your welcome

I'm out of breath reading you comment with no punctuation🤣 If you already have your Vermont plates and you want to transfer the registration to Texas, you need to tell Texas dmv that vermont does not require a title for your vehicle since it is more than 15 years old. They will look it up to see if its true and then give you Texas title and registration

I did this whole process and received 2 plates about a month later. I also received a photo copy of my application with some DMV stamps and notations on it. I was expecting a "registration" but nothing else was in the envelope. A few sites have said this is coming later. Do you know how or when I will receive a registration? This works, I got my car registered in Vermont. And my insurance accepted it, the registration. So I have a street legal vehicle in my state. But, my state will not accept the Vermont registration as a “title”. Even though Vermont does not issue titles for old cars like mine it. I still will have to go through my state untitled vehicle process. VIN and safety inspection check, state bill of sale, ownership declaration, law enforcement VIN check, photos, everything notarized. Huge pain in the ass.

I did, took 5 months but I finally got my states plates. But I was able to drive around on the Vermont plates in the meantime. 😎
Did you have to send a print out of the nada value? Ive yet to see any of these videos state this but the vernint dmv site says to include it when sending in paperwork.

Trade in would be lower if it was listed but its not in my case. Ive been noticing that certain vehicles/bikes aren't all listed the same way do can make it a little tougher to find the proper value. Either way the dmv will look it up on their end to confirm and either ask for more money if they feel its value is higher or accept it. Just sent out the paperwork this morning 3/30/21 so hopefully I'll see the check cashed soon and wait for a plate and reg to arrive assuming all checks out. First time im doing this but have always wanted to see how this works. If all goes well I wont be afraid to buy things without a title in the future with this vermont thing being an option.

They use the online free edition of NADA book., "low retail" value. 1987 R10 Chevy truck is 4,000 bucks....238 dollars in tax plus 76 for 1 year registration.

@@Lotusrk123 mine runs but needs some work. Tank repair, frame repainted, seat replaced or redone, motor and chrome need rust removal and polishing. Just don't want to sink too much in it before I have the title in hand.. us there is a $500 difference in the values.
Is it a mistake you make in section 9 where you point to a shaded area on the application to fill in..... but in other videos you state that all shaded areas are to be left blank, or the form will be rejected?
@@cedmac3366 the NADA value shaded box should be filled by you with the rough value of car. Or else on the right ..you won’t know how much taxes you need to pay them.
i just done this about a month and half ago 1966 ford f100 antique and they sent back a temp tag saying i need to get it inspected. does any body know what i should do next i paid $638.98 for nada value and the tag fee.
@@Lotusrk123 I think hes confused about the same reason I am. Why is the NADA section grey'd out? It doesn't let me input a value like on the "Purchase price" section. Are we supposed to put in the NADA value after printing while signing? Or can we leave that blank and simply calculate the tax and add it to the total and they're cool with that?

I would contact VT DMV to confirm but I believe with salvage you need to complete a VIN verification. They can either do it in person (probably easiest) or I believe they have a form which you can get Law Enforcement Officer in your state to complete and use that for VIN verification.
Anyone done this recently? I sent out my paperwork March 29th. I know takes a few days to get there and then ive read both that it can take 3 weeks to process and also 4 weeks due to covid and whatnot. The only way to know if they've processed is seeing if the check is cashed correct? If not cashed id assume something happened and I should be expecting to get something saying why? They won't charge if they dont provide a reg and plate correct? I know it will take a little while and im sure a few more weeks but im sure im not the only one who's sent a check and just sitting waiting patiently for something to happen lol.
So funny enough later that day I made this post I received mail back from the vermont dmv. Opened it up and it was everything I sent them. Im like great what went wrong. They sent a cover page stating there was an error. I filled the check out wrong lol. Missed something so they couldn't process it. Filled out a new check and next morning sent it all out again. Of course now usps is dragging their feet. I paid extra for priority and it was suppost to make it back to the dmv Friday the 16th. As of today the 17th just says in transit. Gotta love paying extra for it to take longer. Hopefully makes it for Monday and then they process it quickly.
Does this process work for a vehicle that has an electronic title? I cant print out the title cause my name is not on it and I don't have access anymore to the seller and the prior owner because they passed away. I want to be able to get a new title in my name. I bought a Toyota from a California dealer and they told me that they are going to mail me the title in a week or two, is 3months and I didn't receive the title. I got help from Cyber Credible and they help me fill the title form for my car tbh It was helpful
it says on Vermont's DMV website "Vermont titles only vehicles that are 15 years old or newer based on calendar year. From 1/1/2019 - 12/31/2019 Vermont will title all vehicles with model year 2005 or newer. All Titles (except ATV) = $35.00, ATV Titles = $22.00. Lien fee = $11.00" the VW Beetle i'm getting is 50 years old, will the title this car?
In the second picture of information it says to get a vin verification? But you did not say it was needed? So I’m confused do you need that as well to send in or no?

I received the tag first, then a week later received the year sticker with the registration and on that day I took everything they sent me and went to West Virginia DMV got a title and an antique tag which does not need an inspection or inspection sticker.

thats what Im thinking also...leave the shaded areas blank because I believe its for the DMV to fill

i just done this about a month and half ago 1966 ford f100 antique and they sent back a temp tag saying i need to get it inspected. does any body know what i should do next i paid $638.98 for nada value and the tag fee.

If you read the document it says do not fill in shaded areas....so why put in NADA amount?
@@Lotusrk123 I think hes confused about the same reason I am. Why is the NADA section grey'd out? It doesn't let me input a value like on the "Purchase price" section. Are we supposed to put in the NADA value after printing while signing? Or can we leave that blank and simply calculate the tax and add it to the total and they're cool with that?

Hi I'm living Brooklyn I have a salvage 2006 bmw x5 can I do my registration by mail or do I need to bring my vehicle?
I would contact VT DMV to confirm but I believe with salvage you need to complete a VIN verification. They can either do it in person (probably easiest) or I believe they have a form which you can get Law Enforcement Officer in your state to complete and use that for VIN verification.
Anyone done this recently? I sent out my paperwork March 29th. I know takes a few days to get there and then ive read both that it can take 3 weeks to process and also 4 weeks due to covid and whatnot. The only way to know if they've processed is seeing if the check is cashed correct? If not cashed id assume something happened and I should be expecting to get something saying why? They won't charge if they dont provide a reg and plate correct? I know it will take a little while and im sure a few more weeks but im sure im not the only one who's sent a check and just sitting waiting patiently for something to happen lol.
So funny enough later that day I made this post I received mail back from the vermont dmv. Opened it up and it was everything I sent them. Im like great what went wrong. They sent a cover page stating there was an error. I filled the check out wrong lol. Missed something so they couldn't process it. Filled out a new check and next morning sent it all out again. Of course now usps is dragging their feet. I paid extra for priority and it was suppost to make it back to the dmv Friday the 16th. As of today the 17th just says in transit. Gotta love paying extra for it to take longer. Hopefully makes it for Monday and then they process it quickly.

Call police non emergency number ask to schedule a vin verification. Have vehicle and all paperwork available when the officer arrives.

Does this process work for a vehicle that has an electronic title? I cant print out the title cause my name is not on it and I don't have access anymore to the seller and the prior owner because they passed away. I want to be able to get a new title in my name. I bought a Toyota from a California dealer and they told me that they are going to mail me the title in a week or two, is 3months and I didn't receive the title. I got help from Cyber Credible and they help me fill the title form for my car tbh It was helpful

@@richardclarke6142 I didn’t use the tag they sent me. I received the tag first, then a week later received the year sticker with the registration and on that day I took everything they sent me and went to West Virginia DMV got a title and an antique tag which does not need an inspection or inspection sticker.
