It will not remove personal file after BIOS update, but I suggest buck up your data before BIOS update just in case.
When gaming my fps dropped alot like i have under 30 fps while gaming (battery plugged in) its on everygame when i once tried to update my pc it sended me to the bios saying something about battery but when i look in the devicemanager it says system firmware update stuff whats the problem?

You need the USB pen to be on FAT32 FORMAT! Otherwise the "easy flash" won't show it's content

Sir I have asus rog strix g 531gt. After bios update from windows itself i noticed cpu is using more voltage than before in Cpuz also while Gaming there is raise in temperature than before so i reset windows 10 also i reinstalled bios but the problem still exists. May I ask why my BIOS settings looks as plain as the Legacy Mode (Aptio Setup Utility) even if the System Information indicates that it's been set into UEFI mode? Asking because today when the battery flatouted nearly (led was blinking and I turn off machine fast) it seems the machine got stuck in "airplane mode" and thus wifi hardware does not show up!!!
The led for airplane mode immediately starts to be lit up after linux boots. I did not update the system or anything, but the low power level state seems to have caused this. The FN+F12 button to enable and disable this never worked because likely the ACPI is not properly done (some other FN keys do work) but because of the machine going to sleep and me turning it off likely the same time it got into some state that got saved. If I disable acpi with grub params the led does not lit up, but still not network. If I add acpi_osi="Windows 2009" grub parameter (or similarly value of "Windows 2012") that does not seem to change anything, but setting "Windows 2015" - thus masquerading my linux as a Windows 10 OS for the ACPI codes of yours freezes so they do not let me use the key combination in either ways...
Is there any way I can turn the airplane mode off? I have no access to windows and currently on cable, but use the machine on flights and travel normally too and plan to do it. Why is there no proper support is beyond my understanding as to me it seems that architecture is overly complicated for some reason but I still hope there is some solution.
So is there chance down or upgrade here would help? Is there any way to default stored variables? I know that CMOS stores things, but not sure where else things might be stored.

Btw It started to work again after I accidentally generated a power spike in the house and all electricity went off because a faulty equipment... Interesting... I also delved deep into DSDT codes and whatnot, but I only read ACPI values, not wrote it so I am not sure it was me fixing it... But added some packages related to ACPI debugging so who knows...
hi asus , sometimes when i restart my tuf gaming f15 the bios utility ez mode flashes , a month ago i gave my laptop to the service center and told them to update the bios . But when i was restarting it a week before again that ez mode appeared . So have they updated it or still there is something remaining ?

You can download the BIOS file via chromebook, but please copy the file to a USB flash drive and do BIOS update on the pc or laptop which you want to update BIOS.
Hello, I would like to ask why my bios look like Legacy - Aptio instead of Asus Utility Ez Mode? Im on Win 11, partitions are on GPT. I have done everything yet Aptio shows up. Thank you for your asking. Because of BIOS is a firmware on mainboard, you don't need to do anything about operating system. Only one suggestion I have is to upgrade driver of chipset/VGA/audio/WIFI/BT. Sometimes new BIOS need new driver to match.

1.format flashdrvie to FAT32
2.change different usb port to launch
3.Do not have any booting partition in your flashdrive

Most of firmware update is to improve system performance and stability. However, fps performance in games might be influenced by games , scenario, temperature, other software, etc. If you don't encounter any issues now, the BIOS version could remain the same. There is a BIOS update available in windows update if the update is necessary.

Hello there I just bought an Asus TUF Gaming f15, and when I started was without OS, so it went straight to the BIOS. But when I turned on it was 71%, but shortly after 20 minutes on the BIOS, while I was putting windows in a USB Flash drive, the battery goes to 40%. The Notebook was refurbished is this a problem or is it normal ? Bios version was 307.

HI, I recently upgraded my HDD to SSD, i instlled windows 10. my laptop is Q302LA, i am unable to use touchscreen now, in devie manageemnt - HID compliant touchscreen is not listed (missing), if I search in pena and touch , it says no pen or touch input avlbl for this display. Well, my laptop is a touch screen otpion, I di try for BIOS update using winflash method - it says these update are only for notebooks, can you please help what should I be doing at first? Is there no esupport file? Please use the old HDD and backup the esupport file and then transfer to the SSD with OS. If there is still no HID compliant touch screen in device manager, please bring the device to our local service center for reinstalling OS. am trying to update my device to enable Thunderbolt 4 via [Gaming NB] ROG 2022 AMD Ryzen 6000 series USB4 feature. I follow all the steps correctly (FAT32 version, extract, send to usb device, correct device used (GV601RW, etc...) but I keep on getting message: selected file is not a uefi bios

After lastest window update , everytime I manually restart my asus rog scar 3 , it stuck on asus rog logo but beside reboot , normal boot up is working fine , it's just everytime I manually restart my laptop it stuck on asus rog logo, also I'm currently on bios 310 ( lastest one) can you tell me how to fix this?

I'm afraid the system can only execute BIOS update when the AC adapter connected and battery power capacity should be over 20%, so it will check the battery before update. If your battery is not working, please send the device to our local service center for repair. Please visit our official website for contact info of our local service center.
How about a desktop? I have a M32 series where the BIOS is not up to date. Downloaded BIOS update (a .cap file) from Asus site. Will this work?

@@asus_support thanks for the reply. I did that and it succeeded. However, since then, the restart button doesn't work anymore. Computer will turn off and boot fine but it will freeze on a black screen when using the Windows restart option. Must now use shut down option and turn the computer back on.

Everytime i went to bios mode my fan was rotating rapidly. I want to upgrade my bios, but this case make me afraid. Im always set my laptop in silent mode. Do you have any idea whats happen and how to calm down the fan ?

The silent mode is controlled in windows system. May I have the model name and the bios version? How do you check the fan status in bios?

Generally, the files will not reset after bios update, but we suggest back up your personal files before upgrading bios to prevent any unexpected issue.

If backlight works unstable , it might be hardware issue. I want to suggest to remove software issue first . So you have to find Keyboard firmware first @ ASUS support website. Second step is to recovery your system , please back up your data first. Third , update bios. If symptoms are still running out. Please contact service to fix it. Thank you.

Asus, I have an Asus x556U notebook, I had a problem with its battery and ended up removing it. Now every time I try to update or format Windows the BIOS starts with the following error: EZ flash check system power error please check battery is connected and remaining capacity is more than 20.
At the bottom it says OK, but when I click nothing happens. I do not understand this error, even if the laptop has no battery it should be able to update it since it is connected to the power.

If you don't encounter any issues now, the BIOS version could remain the same. There is a BIOS update available in windows update if the update is necessary.

Hi asus, I got ASUS TUF FA506IC. I accidently updated by firmware update on windows but not yet installed it yet. Cnaceld it when bios menu popped up. Do i need usb too instal the firmware update and everytime i restart the bios menu ahowed up.

Do you mean it would enter bios automatically but you can boot into windows after exit bios? If the bios update process start, cannot be stopped. It may cause issue if you force stop it. If you don't have USB flash drive, please refer to the following video to update to the latest bios 300.
