  • This is at the end of one of my other uploads but it's so good it deserves to be here in it's own right, this time in a slightly higher video quality. This is an extended version of the superb theme tune to the 1992 series of Parallel 9, which here is accompanied by a lovely swooping shot of the stunning planet set they built for the show at Pinewood Studios that still looks good today, twenty years on. Well, apart from the glimpse of the ceiling of the "planet" at 00:38...
25.07.92, all copyright remains Roach/BBC. This is from my own random VHS collection, so the duplication covered in DOGs elsewhere on You Tube has been nicked from here, it's probably safe to say.

"Theme Music by... ED WELCH" Of course; no wonder it's so good, then!

Woke up with this in my head this morning. Thanks for posting it!
The lyrics (from what I can make out:)
    Time...
    (Has lots of minutes.)
It's time for you to pay!
    (Just get with it.)
    You've broken every rule.
    (You're on the limit.)
They're gonna take your time away.
    Time...
(Just get on and do it.)
Has shown us not to stay.
    (You won't get through it.)
    You've taken time tonight(?)
    (You should always do it.)
They're gonna take your time away.
Might have gotten a couple of lines wrong in there as there's a bit of a run-on between the main and background singers. If anyone knows, feel free to correct me!

      I hear:
      Time
      (Have you got a minute?)
It's time for you to pay
      (Now just a minute!)
      You've broken every rule
      (Hold on a minute!)
They're gonna take your time away.
      Time
(Just get on and do it!)
As sure as night and day (???)
      (You won't get through it!)
      You've taken time to learn
(I guess you always knew it)
They're gonna take your time away.
I think the lines in brackets are supposed to be Mercator speaking. In the first verse he's pleading with the Time Barons not to punish him, in the second verse he's resigned to it. "You've taken time to learn" because his crime was trying to learn about Earth, and knowledge is a crime on Zarb.
      ...yeah, I was a fan.

I remember the actual show this came from but if you played this without reference to the retro kids show (it's a good theme tune) I wonder what you could get away with using it on still?
