Talking about things that are better at home. Try getting Sambazon or Trader Joe’s açaí packets that can be blended with frozen fruit. Sprinkle granola, fruit, and blue agave syrup on top- so good.
When I was a kid my siblings and I liked oatmeal, but not the texture, so our mom used to blend the entire container of dry rolled oats into a blender and then put it back in the container, so that she wouldn’t have to blend the oatmeal every time we wanted some 😊

@@lindsayelaine1326 porridge is what we call oatmeal. We don't have grits in the UK (to my knowledge) but my understanding is the difference is porridge is oat based while grits are corn based.
Just fill the blender with warm soapy water and blend it! Then rinse out. It’s way easier to wash this way! Of course you do that after emptying out as much food as possible first.
I'm sure you can find that here too but I don't see why anyone would pay the premium when you can just get regular oats in bulk and pluse it down to your preferred consistency

I eat steal cut because it's the best one for diabetics. I coarse chop some pecan halves and toast them on the stovetop and add them for some additional texture. I love texture with my food. It's why I'm so scared to try overnight oats but it's such a thing I want to.

Overnight oats have always looked a little icky to me because of the clumpy texture but I would love an easy homemade breakfast that was basically ready when I get up - this sounds like a great solution!!
Make sure if you're not a huge fan of oatmeal that you don't overcook or over blend the oats! It can make the texture super gummy and unappealing. Also, as she showed in the video top with your favorite stuff so it tastes as good as it possibly can even if you're not the biggest fan of the texture.
Grains are all pressed and ground in different textures as you know of I'm sure, I highly encourage you to look up Scottish oats to get a similar effect without having to blend.
That’s how you prepare oats.. like yeah some people soak them overnight instead of cooking them if they want them cold, but the normal way to prepare them is to cook them

In the UK we have ready brek, which is basically ground oats with added vitamins, and that's exactly what they look like. They're marketed to kids but adults love them too. So much better than normal oats. Some shops have their own brand ones now aswell.

My long time favorite "oatmeal" is quick oats blended dry (I do the whole canister at once/pour them back in And store in pantry) - vanilla almond milk and a spoonful of Reeses peanut butter - microwave in a mug for 2 min and voila, creamy easy oatmeal Yumm
I have mines in the fridge with blueberries and strawberries marinating with the oats. I’ll blend it in the morning before adding banana n granola. Yum
@@smellmyfingification I think it would depend on how you feel about the curds. Personally, my favorite part of eating cottage cheese is biting into the curds. I'm in a snit at the moment because my regular grocery store stopped carrying large curd cottage cheese, so I either have to buy it elsewhere, or settle for small curd, which I think has less flavor. Blending it would completely ruin it for me, but to each their own, I guess.

If I'm going to use something like that in a recipe, it's easier to just substitute something like ricotta, which is already one uniform texture. I do like seeing people enjoy different foods in different ways though, even if it's not my cup of tea.
The only overnight oats I've tried is to put the whole oat groats and hot water in a thermos over night and they're cooked and ready to eat in the morning. Love your idea. I'll try it with steel cut oats, or whole oat groats. Love the creamy texture.

When you blend foods you destroy their insoluble fiber, which in the case of oats is one of the primary nutrients they’re supposed to provide. They’re much better consumed whole and unblended.

Girl the best way to eat oatmeal is using whatever type of oats that you like once that’s done add a huge ass spoonful of cottage cheese and drizzle some maple syrup or honey it doesn’t matter but make sure you make your oatmeal as sweet as possible because it’s gonna really offset on the cottage cheese it’s literally life-changing and don’t forget to add a pinch of salt when mixing the oatmeal before the cottage cheese with whatever type of milk you like game changer
Tip! Blend the oats when dry and you get same effect. I blend af large amount and keep them in a bag for future overnight oats 🙌🏼

There are a lot of different nut butters you should try! Besides peanut and sunflower, I like cashew, pecan, pistachio, macadamia, and Brazil nut.

I do blended overnight oats all the time. But I blend my dry oats in my small food processor and the results are the same. Sooooo good! 👍

Not sure if it’s available there, but I just buy “quick oats”. They are already pulsed/blended.

In puerto rico they make oatmeal that’s a bit smooth like this too with milk and sugar, they’re not chunky like american oat meal.
