Brake-checking an 18-wheeler should get you a year in jail, even if no accident occurs.
Tailgater's are Aholes but brake checkers are the scum of the roadways.
YEP, BOTH SUCK.
Personally, I think riding in a semi for a day or two should be required for driver's ED and getting a license.
the logistics would suck doing that, but I agree in theory, or at least watch a shit ton of these videos.
Probably make more sense for everyone to take the same courses for getting a CDL, then they might understand it's not so easy being a trucker.
So many examples of us drivers protecting people from their own stupidity and idiocy in this video. Yet they blame us.
@25:28 Hate to break the bad news to you Hiram, step off your high horse, but the truck turning into the driveway was not the same driver as the one that cut you off, that truck went around on the shoulder, showing you where to go.
That second video made me happy. 🤣
I'm still trying to get a law so big rigs have to have bells on them. As they're so hard to see it makes it difficult for regular drivers who continue to cut them off and/or hit them. #safty furst.
24:41 That one guy that tried to go under the container trailer like that one scene from fast and furious was way too funny
At 25:57, it does not look like a merge to me. The truck made a lane change into a non-empty lane. And even if it was a merge, the merging vehicle does not have the right of way. The Mercedes driver probably did not even see the signal of the truck. In my opinion, there is no fault from the Mercedes driver.
Never heard the term "dash footy" until today.
Be a 360 driver all the time. When you're in a car when you're on a motorcycle and you're on a bicycle, people do not give a crap. Be safe
"When you're in a car when you're on a motorcycle and you're on a bicycle" lol what the fuck am i reading?
Hiram Oliver wasnt paying much attention the truck that cut him off passed the other truck that was on the road. Why didnt Oliver slow down. Just as bad a driver as the guy that cut him off.
I noted that too!
😂 the sound effects on the florida person
"No one wins playing games [with a brake checker]"
I don't know about that. One brake checker turned into a pancake? That's on the denominator of the cost/benefit ratio.
@45:30 I just gotta say... that local Fire Department's response time is legendary! ;-)
That second video brought joy to my heart. 😜😜😜
i thought i could watch this but as a cdl B driver its giving me anxiety's🤣
Big black red at 12:00 would be missing his door if it would of been me
19:05 - Love the walking dead music. 😂 thank you for that. 😂
Wow, there's a lot to learn here!!! 🤯
31:15, honk at that driver all you want, you were never going to stop at that light. YOU are the problem here.
the one on fire is a trash hauler from a transfer station
"The wrong-way driver of a Dodge Caravan was identified on Thursday morning as an 86-year-old man from Loveland, who didn’t use his seatbelt and died at the scene, according to Colorado State Patrol Master Trooper Gary Cutler."
I drove an old beater for decades, it was old when i got it. One day an axle broke and i was doing end-arounds across the median into oncoming traffic. Poor trucker locked it up and connection was just a bump. All i could see was his grille and wheel in the passenger window. I was ready to die. I sent the driver a thankyou card for not killing me. Told him to thank the brake-man cuz his work got life tested. Had my kids sign the card. Fixed the car and drove it another 20yrs. failure due to stress riser on the axle. previous owner fancied himself a mechanic and used the blue flame hammer to remove bearings. left a text book stress riser and subsequent text book failure of the steel.
One thing I noticed of the many problems here is that they need to make the trucks bigger so people can see them.
55:44 I couldn't live with myself doing that. smh
41:12 Now THAT'S a trucker's voice. 🙂
4:20 good ole Chicago
I'm an old fart and a grandma.
My father's the one that taught me about road courtesy AND "If you take care of the truckers, they'll take care of you."
If a trucker is slightly ahead of you with his blinker on to come into your lane, flash the high/lows to let 'em know it's ok to merge.
Cop trap up ahead, flash your lights on/off.
Things like that.
In all the years I've been driving, this still holds true.
Quit being a dick and show some courtesy.
Yep. I drove to Dayton and when i saw any semi's wantin to get into my lane i always slowed down to let them in. I'd always go "say thank you" and they'd flash their hazards :) always a good feelin
4:43 is that other car in middle lane also after the insurance?
I never understood those escape ramps why are they to the left if all trucks gotta be to the right
16:52 Live bottom walking floor having a really bad day. That is a forty two thousand dollar fix after everything burns down.
Some of y'all need to learn how to use your wipers... How do you see?!?
If a tractor trailer takes the runoff ramp because of failed brakes, what prevents the truck and trailer from rolling backwards after it has stopped?
the 3 foot deep pea gravel all up in the undercarriage
#1;I like the "LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO MY CAR" WOMAN (NOT A NICE LADY). She was in the wrong, glad she was arrested.
43:17 and 44:56 are the same accident from different trucks ( first is a view from the actual truck that wrecked)
0:45 yeah, laughing at people rolling through stop signs, but being just the same asshole. Great work....
Being in a car near trucks and big rigs scares the crapola out of me.
Slow moving buildings that also cant break quickly, plus their huge blind spots!!
9:26 Watching Pete Barrett, he needs to watch the road ahead. When a big rig is closing in on a slower truck you should know he is going to pass. Stay out of his blind spot . It may say your life.
I thought the dude in the thumbnail was Joe Pesci.
44:35 - That idiot driver had 3 semi-trucks (2 behind him and 1 beside him!) and all those trucks had to have been plastered in every mirror he had! And still he tried to exit even when he was ALREADY past the exit!!!
Honestly, 11:17 driver did well here. Sure, he pulled a 4-wheeler with him, but that's better than going all the way down with no brakes.
10m. You got tf outa the passing lane after!
@4:05, the little peddle on the makes you go fast, use it; if only for your own safety.
15:16 wow final destination, especially on a bridge.
I wonder why the guy had his dump trailer lifted, it basically pointed his flashers at the ground.
LOL, a picture speaks a thousand words. 14:29 that is exactly the kind of person I'd expect to hit every car on the road.
00:28 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In The Netherlands heavy trucks and trailers must drive at the right side of the road and not faster than 90km/h.
You sure look like a gangster with that mask hanging off your ear 😂😂😂😂
7:47 120 mph? Are you sure on that? Want to make a bet related to the speed?
And yet here you are staying close to the tractor trailer that was hauling that SXS.
28:57 ice!
During 15+ years of driving, i can say 100% that road rage from USA are real. For 15 years there's been a few honks, for less then 1 seconds, directed at me or me directed at someone else.
Not sure why you guys have this kind of rage towards each other on the road, but its something i truly hope doesnt catch on for the rest of the world.
Some of these clips are people thinking they are entitled to everything. Like this trucker 1:05, just let go of the gas and let him in, its not like you're reaching any top speed here anyway. He see the van wants to merge but decides to accelerate to hit him and then act like a victim. 4:07, same thing, The merging lane ends 100-150meters ahead, so just move over to middle lane since he wasnt turning right anyway. Foot off the gas for 2 seconds could have avoided both losing IQ if he didnt wanna switch to middle lane.
Yeah, I watch to see what I'm not missing being OTR anymore. Road rage is completely out of control, no courtesy, common sense or decency anymore. Four-wheelers are still jerks around trucks - worse now, and truckers are becoming just as bad with terrible attitudes and lack of defensive driving skills. Safer just staying off the road now.
Roads should be designed like the grapevine in So Cal. 2 lanes for trucks and 2 lanes for cars. Considering these freeways are going to be here for another hundred years let's spend the money.
37:40 Why is it hard to use both wipers?
An eye witless on the scene stated "That Mother Clucking trash truck hit the Mother Clucking pole and broke the Mother Clucker off and now I cant get my Mother Clucking pizza"
59:20 i always thought that was a boring job.
❤❤❤
I've had a sever "caughing fit" while driving before, and have never come close to losing control. He/she was texting for sure.
the stuff they drive into is soft dirt or sand so they sink in and aren’t able to roll backwards
0:27 Can't fix stupid.
For the clip where the truck hit the runaway ramp the red car knew the assignment, we need more 4 wheelers like that, yes the trucker shoulda known better but at a split second notice he/she made the best choice he/she could have and the red car made that possible with no fatalities…. We’re truckers but let’s give the 4wheeler some credit here
38:20 If attacked by clowns, go for the juggler.
0:40 Truck rolled through the stop too, hypocrite.
32:58 Lmao This driver just don't give a fuck.
American trucks don't have brakes.😂😂😂😂
You have a sec to the same place не могу сказать что не надо было возможности написать письмо в котором часу несут исключительно их авторы проекта
And I still question, is it that there are that many imported cars on our roads today or are people who drive foreign cars just that stupid when they drive. The greater majority of the accidents in the video were caused by foreign car drivers.
29:40 It's especially frustrating in the newer plastic trucks. Mine has front-facing radar, so I know when you aren't using cruise control. Please, handicapped crossover drivers, don't pass semi-trucks. Just don't. Y'all are the worst at maintaining a consistent speed.
25.14 it’s the MGIF brigade 😂😂😂😂
31.26 so you’re so special, you don’t need to stop for the red light🙄
“You don’t need to stop for the red light” ????? That’s how people getting into accidents now..
8:30- turning from the far right lane.
yeah. they need a lot of space when making turns into thin driveways🤷♀
What is the malfunction with the driver flinging open his door on the yellow car about 28:00? Are you supposed to be intimidated or something? Pull that with the wrong one and his momma will get a cop knocking on her door with bad news.
39:10 I’m coming through , good luck everyone.
I don't know. Maybe I am just cynical in my old age because my patience is no more with stupid drivers. Any day of the week I would take a ticket just because of other drivers stupidity. Brake check me and ur back bumper is no more cuz I ain't slowing down
Texting and driving. Sheesh. SMS apps should be able to detect when the user is driving.
No no, hear me out. None of this nanny lockout bs. It just needs to detect if the user was texting immediately before the accelerometers, gps, and audio processing detect a collision. Then it automatically sends a text to everyone that says "YOLO LOL I DIED 💀". If you don't want those to be your last words, put the phone down.
1:03.30 That dude with the knife was a woman!
Can someone please teach people how to hold the phone in landscape mode when you are recording... F******
25:16 That seems like a ridiculous amount of drama about someone simply making a left turn. What is the harm in that? They are 900 feet ahead of you when they become visible as you crest the hill. They were giving a left turn signal and waiting for oncoming traffic to clear. How can that possibly be construed as “cutting you off”? You are the one charging up from behind going too fast to stop.
20:30 I believe that split-axle trailers are the most dangerous to drive in icy conditions. You _want_ weight on the drive and steer axles, but the split-axle config shifts more weight to the trailer axles, instead.
The greater the trailer axle spread, the more it wants to go straight, and the more it tries to resist turning. It looks like maybe this load is stacks of 4x8 sheets of building material. The upper tier is centered rearward of the middle of the trailer, biasing the weight heavier on the trailer axles and lighter on the drive axles. This would simultaneously increase the trailer’s tenancy to track straight ahead, and reduce the drive axle’s ability to counteract that force.
This is the ramp from I-435 S to I-70 E on the east side of Kansas City, Missouri.
The bridge in the middle of the curve probably contributed to the loss of control. The concrete bridge up in the air likely had less grip than asphalt pavement on the ground during low temperatures. As the drive axles went onto the bridge concrete while the trailer was still on asphalt, the lateral grip on the drive axles reduced enough to allow them to step sideways into even deeper slush, further reducing grip. By the time the truck exits the bridge, the steer axle is still in the groove while the drive axle is deep in the slush, an unrecoverable situation at that speed.
Too much speed for both the curve sharpness and grip, combined with a heavy load with reduced drive axle weight lead to this disaster. Take away any one component, and this crash may have been avoided.
9:25 uh Pete? does your horn and/or brakes not work? I mean you had like 4 or 5 seconds lead time to see what was happening. you could have honked or slowed down but you did neither WTF?
I was looking for this comment bc he might not have seen you but he might have heard you😭
1:03:15 That’s a SHE?????? Damn🤣😂
10:20 Who would have thought passing another semi whilst going either the speed limit or below it pisses people off. On top of that, you just kept your brights on the whole damn time.
@4:25 he was supposed to merge left to get the other vehicle on the highway.
At 18:46 mark where was dude head/mind like really dude. You seen those lights. Like really didn't even car to stop or slow down.
Boomers should not have a license
Some of these truck drivers think they are a train and cannot stop. Trucks have brakes and should use them.
I don't know how many times a truck has pulled right in front of me and I have to brake. That is the reason for so many brake checks in this video. I have done a complete stop of the interstate before, I got so tired of trucks pulling in front of me. I am not proud of that. I admit I'm going on the top of the speed limit but it is not another drivers place to slow me down. We all know trucks will win in a crash but they don't have to be road bullies. It seems to me there are many young truck drivers that are not properly trained or do not have enough experience on the road.
Finally I think we can all see how many of these accidents are caused by unsafe roads and road design. We need our clear zone back and maybe make the lanes an extra foot wider. We definitely should have a ten foot shoulder on both sides and an extra ten feet of gravel on the right for people pulled over by the police.
Hiway dog was just being an asshole .
