I beat rigged giveaways with a bot

- Unfair giveaways, you've probably encountered them at least once in your life. In this video I use the power of technology & code to beat them!
The most unfair type of giveaway, referral based giveaways, have a system that either gives you more points (where the more points you have, the higher your chances of winning (or in some cases even guarantee a win)) or more entries for each person you "refer" using a specific link. This is not only unfair in the context of giveaways but also rather unethical if they have no "limit" to just how much you can refer, resulting in some pretty ridiculous situations where people have 1000%+ more points than you, which is really.... bad

Because of this I went ahead and created a series of programs that automate the referral process with both a generator and verifier, both were made using python

The moral of this story is: when you have a giveaway make sure you have atleast a basic captcha.
But the bots can also do the captcha or hire people to do them
Captcha bots are easy to produce I know a few people who make them
lol there’s a LOT of api’s for bypass of captchas. it just eliminates the average user from being able to do things. Also, need source to good proxies :p

If you claim it I'd be worried about fraud, because this is fraud if claimed (or if claimed the companies might be upset about it, otherwise just annoyed).

a very good question, the answer of which I am curious to find out as well. He might win on any of those bot accounts so if he made it so if any of those got a winning email the program will alert him on which he might have a big chance
Yes, multiple, but I had to forfeit prizes and have the accounts wiped to not get any trouble for doing it, additionally there was multiple months delay between filming, me telling them about the issue and this upload so it should all be good legally
If you didnt swarm the whole leader Board with fake Accounts you could have Gotten away with it... I dont think scotty or an one Else with such a high number of points Has so much legit referals. That would have been 520 Real actual friends that clicked the link for them

Usually the rules of the giveaway include info about using bot accounts or automated processes to gain an unfair advantage. But this just goes to show how little they care about enforcing the rules lol
