I just took the sensor off without taking everything else apart and cleaned it with the Mass air sensor spray. It ran 100% better and the check engine light turned off. Mechanics will rip you off if your not doing your home work!!

skyweezynU hope you're getting everything cleaned out and replaced, the o2 Sensor was tough but possible to do by yourself. Good luck

Hi I have the same car but it is an automatic and I didn't have to undo all you did I unclipped the electrical clips then undid two large hose clips that hold the sensor and then pushed back the tubes on each side and removed it I may have a different engine series as the M A S, doesn't have the 4 bolts like the one in your video but after a air filter and a few squirts of the cleaner it really does make a difference in power and economy my engine is a series 3 v6 but it's a great car. All the best from New Zealand.

I've been and double checked out the M,A,S and I am slightly wrong in my description I removed it with it still bolted to the air cleaner clip on/off cover. Sorry for any confusion! my bad.

I had to remove this to change my negative terminal. Upon removal i seen That silicone seal/boot at the end of the MAF has ripped. I have done extensive research and cannot seem to find that piece itself anywhere. Any tips or info would be helpful.

What do I do after putting everything back together. Is there some reprogramming process due to disconnecting/reconnecting the battery?

What was the very first part that you took off called? I’m having issues where mine keeps coming a loose, and I wanted to try to fix it so it stayed in its place, but I don’t know what that piece is actually called to find out how 😭

    • @RaveRonin23

Supposedly it will IF a dirty sensor was the cause for all that.

You don't have to remove the battery. You just have to remove the metal brackets on top of it.

@Mr602 yes I did most of mine and your engine looked very much the same but the tube with the M A Sensor was 4inch long (aprox) of a hard plastic with a small square on top both ends held in place with s/steel hose clips.
