I love watching an artist totally absorbed in their work produce these wonderful works of art. Notice the guitar sound hole over his heart. It's for a reason.
This is hands down one of my favorite Beatles song and you have done it complete justice by orchestrating the arrangement to perfection. Your interpretation and performance is purely sincere. You guys check out his Gotye "Someone I used to Know"
I play a lot of fingerstyle arrangements of Beatles songs. Michael, this is the most extraordinary and breathtakingly beautiful arrangement of their music I have heard. Excellent arrangement and performance!
thanks John. this one took a few weeks and I did it quite a while ago. however, since then, i have become a bit more interested in making the melody sing like the original singer. so making this video was almost like re-arranging it because some of Paul's vocal moves wouldn't happen with my original fingerings. very satisfied with it now. i play it for therapy for my own daughter's departure from my home.
Michael, I can't begin to tell you how much happiness your beautiful guitar playing has given me! Your music has touched me during a very dark period in my life and has lifted my spirits tremendously. G-d bless you. Sincerely, Shemaiah
it just reminds you of the wonderful sonwriting skills of Lennon and McCartney. it's a timeless forever classic!! brilliantly played by a master guitarist!! well done.
I hope someone turns Sir Paul on to this. Just gorgeous. The balance of the voices taking turns stepping into the light, the sweet isolated highlights, so many fine moments, yet it all flows. And the harmony is all there. This is mastery. A Magical Mastery Tour de force.. :-)
Your arrangement and execution is pure genius! I am typing this with tears in my eyes. The tears are for two reasons... first the beauty of the song, and second for the fact that my skills will never approximate yours!
She's Leaving Home. This is perfect music and I really can't even think of a description or comment. I strongly agree, also your consistent arrangement & sensitive performance outline your comment, Thank you,
Magnifique arrangement de cette magique pièce signée Lennon / Mc Cartney jouée de main de maitre cher Michael , avec tout mon respect , je suis conquis!!!!
Great phrasing Michael. The tunes you do that aren't classical are always full of music and tone. It is always a great day when your playing comes across my door.
Great song , beautifully arranged , beautifully played.......only 160,000 views......doesn't really make any sense ! At LEAST a few million would be more appropriate .
I just bought beatles the complete scores, and have begun the arduous task of transcribing as much as I can for guitar. If I get half of what Michael has done, I'll be so proud of myself. Fabulous Mike!!
What can I say - Paul's original recorded vocal take on the most beautiful track - by far - from "Pepper" just pulls everything out of you emotionally, and still does - every time, to this day, how achingly beautiful this song truly is...in fact, I place it right there in the top 5 songs ever written in the history of recorded music, along with "What A Wonderful World," "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "Vincent." And from one guitarist to another, my friend, you have nailed it...bringing out so many little nuances out of such a gorgeous - yet sophisticated - tune as this is just reiterates how bogus one of the knocks that's long been held against The Beatles - that there's no depth, no "weight" to the Beatles music...so, so wrong. As it's always been said, and will always be true - a great song can be taken down to it's barest elements, to it's simplest form - and still walk on it's own, practically within the structure of any type of instrumentation you can throw at it - and it will still come across. Simply beautiful interpretation. Great job. And definitely from the heart...if you didn't feel it, you couldn't have done it. Kudos.
Beautiful job. I'm always impressed with guitar players that put all the work into making an arrangement, I have to admit I play mostly electric, so playing the basic body of a song is fairly simple, but I usually wing it on the solos, and they tend to vary slightly from one time to the next. I always wondered if McCartney sat down and said "I'm going to write a waltz today" or if these songs were developed over months, with a lot of input from George Martin. Even the basic song without the string arrangements is an unbelievable melody for a 25 year old kid to come up with. And here the Beatles had three incredibly good song writers. The guitar tone was beautiful. Young players should remember not to focus too much on the equipment, though. 95 percent of great tone is in your fingers, and playing with confidence, which is why we all practice. The guitar player has to be in charge of the strings, and not the other way around. Fantastic playing, man.
Played brilliantly in all respects as usual. The skillfully crafted and unique creative touch instilled into this and your other arrangements are what make you a true master.
I love it when you can 'see' as well as hear, the feeling that the artist is puting into the music. Once again, Bravo. And once again, Best Wishes from Texas.
I just saw this clip posted in a Leo Kottke Facebook group I belong to, and it is my introduction to you and your exquisite playing. I will now be listening to everything else you've posted! This song has always been one of my very favorites, IMO one of the greatest melodies ever written (to say nothing of the deeply poignant lyrics). The emotion and feeling you bring to this piece, with the sky-high technical challenge of all the voicings and multiple lines working together, are nothing short of astonishing. When you hit that payoff at the end ("bye.... bye..."), man... just slayed me. Beautiful work, sir.
Michael Chapdelaine please my friend....this arregment is very wonderful..please please helpme yo get the scoresway I really want yo play your arregment
Superb rendition of probably the most underestimated Beatles song.
How true.
It's kinda the same proportion cool cat is for queen
A triple masterpiece: the song itself, your arrangement, your performance.
incorporated so many nuances of the song - background vocals, bass line, violin staccato, and more. And harmonics as well. Just great
What a great arrangement. So musical and well thought out. Artistically executed as well. This is fantastic.
where can I buy the arrangenment please
There is no superlative that could even come close to describing this master performance. Bravo, Maestro. RIP, Michael.
Lovely arrangement and beautifully played. Your playing really brings home how good The Beatles' songs are.
