    Awesome, I've never seen an oil field like that. I'm planning to relocate to California from New York and your website has been very interesting and helpful to me.

    From the size of the counter weights, that is a very shallow oil field.

      Most of what you see there are Work Over Rigs, which hoist the pipe and equipment out of the hole for maintenance. The shot at 1:10-1:15 was a drilling rig. Had a swivel, and they were in the middle of cementing it. Very likely drilling a new well there

    • @raybin6873
      @raybin6873 Před 3 lety +1

      They are not "drilling"...they are pulling the oil up out of the oilfield. The drilling was accomplished a long time ago. This oilfield is likely seeing it's final days of production. Most of the oil has been harvested.

    • @CuriousEarthMan
      @CuriousEarthMan Před 16 dny +1

      @@rosewhite--- different depths some of them, usually bigger pumping units pump from deeper depths. I suppose some oil grades differ here, but probably not that much if it is from the same formation. The "nodding donkeys" or reciprocating pumping units just pump, after well is drilled and completed.

    The coming conversion to all electric vehicles and all electricity being generated by nuclear power plants, will make all oil and petroleum products obsolete and worthless. It will make the air a lot cleaner.

      If you were to get rid of oil and gas you better go buy you 40 acres and a couple of mules because the reason our lifestyles are not like the 1800s and earlier is because of oil and gas.

    I can't help loving these pumps, but in today's climate, the whole area is indicative of badly we are treating our planet.
