For size 6 - 12 months use a 5mm crochet hook
For my cardigan I used a 4mm crochet hook and 1 ball of Drops Baby Merino yarn (fine / 4 ply weight).

I have made quite a few baby cardigans and sweaters from your tutorials - I love them all. For this one I used double knitting yarn on a 5mm hook and it fit a small 3 year old. I would love to do one for a 5 year old but have no idea how many stitches to start off with - can you advise please?
you re a good teacher
Thank you easy to follow
Hi up row 8 are you finishing of with 2 dc in last stitch thanx
So far I have made this, the baby dress, and a little hat. Your tutes are very clear and I love your patterns. Thank you for what you do, free of charge to us. I wish I could design baby clothes! I wouldn't know how to do the math part of it, where you know exactly how many stitches you need! How do people do that???
Thank you very much! it definitely takes a lot of practice and a lot of time to design your own patterns but it is worth it! x

This is a great pattern to follow, however you have not mentioned about a border around the edge at the end to give it that neat finish your cardigan has. Would it be sc all around the border? Thank you
