    You should have shown or at least mentioned FIRST to remove the screws from the back, before popping the top off.

  • @mikeingraham611
    @mikeingraham611 Před 4 lety +3

    There isn’t a need to tilt the top off or do any of the upper disassembly. You can check the bolt in less than a minute. Pop the blue cap off, unscrew the 10mm bolt then you’re good to go. My bolt was not loose. I called Samsung and the repairman will be here in two days. Hopefully he’ll replace the tension rods/springs so I’m not out that $$$.

    I feel better knowing I'm not the only one having issues with my Samsung washer. Between the pump disconnecting and flooding my basement, the water level sensor failing leading to water leaking onto my basement floor, and now the DC unbalanced load error, these are the worse washers on the market

    • @robhow6105
      @robhow6105 Před 4 lety +1

      mpksabres1 I had the same issue with this washing machine that I was working on. First the pressure switch went out causing the machine to overflow and then somehow water got into the top drum section and would shake violently. Check this video at time 2:05. You will see two dimples in the top section. Get a drill and drill those out then you got to turn it upside down to get the water out and fill with silicone when it’s all out and you’re good to go. And yes these are the worst appliances on earth

    Thank you for the video. Sadly that wasn't my problem. For any reader, if you think that's your problem you dont have to go debuilding the whole thing. You have a direct access to the pulsater's bolt. The bolt was so very stuck and I had trouble releasing it but I finally did it (There also seemed to be loctite applied on the bolt). Anyway I have to continue looking for a solution to my unbalanced problem. I'll try this recalibrating thing I read about. (Maybe I should've started there = p)

    Thank you! We have a 2012/13 model and it just started acting up. Love the washer but this problem was making me hate Samsung. I bought these on amazon with the new black rubber boots on the springs. Installation went exactly how you showed. Took me about 25 min and cost about $105. I got them from your amazon store.
    So far so good, we are working again.
    Feel free to check with me later for updates. I called Samsung 4 days ago and they were supposed to have a repair man come out, I haven’t heard anything from anyone yet. I am so thankful for CZcams and amazon.

      It’s a video on CZcams that tells you to drill holes in the white ring and that fixes the issue works perfectly after that like new, the ring has water in it and throws it off balance after time

      Same question

    • @TheNYgolfer
      @TheNYgolfer Před 3 lety

      @Cavtropolis That video was for replacing the inner tub which does require the top to come up. . Why he stopped it just at the point of the nut being taken off was not a good idea because it would have shown that the nut is a reverse thread nut

    • @TheNYgolfer
      @TheNYgolfer Před 3 lety

      @@tiffanysgottimetoday4589 -that's a dumb suggestion. It's called a balance ring for a reason. The partially filled ring acts as a counter balance to an out of balance load of laundry. Without water in the ring your machine will spin only if the laundry is perfectly balanced .

  • @robhow6105

    I had the same issue with this washing POS that I was working on. First the pressure switch went out causing the machine to overflow and then somehow water got into the top drum section and would shake violently. Check this video at time 2:05. You will see two dimples in the top section after he removes the top cover piece. Get a drill and drill those out then you got to turn it upside down to get the water out and fill with silicone when it’s all out and you’re good to go. And yes these are the worst appliances on earth. I had to use a two arm puller to get the inner section out after removing the big nut this guy is wrenching on. Another way to do it would be to reassemble the unit after you drill those holes and then flip the whole washing machine upside down. Then just squirt some silicone underneath there’s a little crack available when you’re done. Hope this helps with these piles of junk. I have had Kenmore appliances for 20 years without any issues like this. Planned obsolescence,excessive technology and great marketing will end us all!!!

      Thank you ! just asked that question, because when he said let's remove the nut he put it on backwards, and I was like either he doesn't know how to use hand tools or it's left handed threads. Thanks for clarifying that. I'm a little headshy I didn't want to jump to the conclusion that I was watching a seasoned pro based on the caliber of "teachers" I've encountered on you tube. • @galaxydust7267
    @galaxydust7267 Před 3 lety +1

    I've just replaced the Suspension Rods but still getting the 'dc error'. I haven't check the Spindle Nut. I think the problem is a combination of the weakened Suspension springs and depletion of lubricant in the Tub Spindle Shaft so it's unable to spin-up to speed in-time because when I put it into 'Spin Mode' manually, after the 'dc cofe' it works fine. Any idea? And, what about the 'water in the Top Rim of the Drum' mystery??

    • @galaxydust7267
      @galaxydust7267 Před 3 lety

      @@andrewkortlang7947 It is "fixed" by replacing the "Rods" BUT still I have to watch (carefully) how I load the laundries since I haven't taken the machine apart and lubricate the friction points (the spindle, the bearing, etc).

      I called a Samsung repair outfit, they sent a guy out for $99 diagnosed it was the suspension rods. They wanted $654.00 to replace them (parts & labor). I bought the 4 rods online for $34.00 (all four), and changed them myself. Machine still does not balance. Reset the leveler feet, still nothing. Now I saw a video where a guy sticks some pool noodles inside the cabinet between the drum and the cabinet, and he gets that thing spinning above 1000rpm. That's going to be my next attempt. Samsung sucks for getting this so wrong on an otherwise pretty decent machine. I'll check back if the pool noodles work.

    I'm having the same problems. DC codes on all washes even with only a few pieces of clothes in it. Called Samsung and they said they can do anything cause its not under warranty. But i already had this issue repair and here we go again. Purchased Dec 2013, $735 and a complete waist of money. 4 years old and it would cost me over $500 to repair with labour. NEVER NEVER SAMSUNG AGAIN. Appliances are garbage. TVS are garbage.

      Then you can set up an appointment. I just did mine and they are coming in three days!! Hope will get fixed... you could take an option of getting a rebate for a new washer, but mine is too old (2013) to get a new one. They will only give me $230 if I buy another Samsung and $130 for other brand. Don't want to spend another $400-500 when you can get fixed for free...

    We bought the SAMSUNG model WA456DRHDWR (similar to this one) in 2013 and it went bad in 3 years. Started to actually rust at the body where you put in the soap and ruined clothes. Then all the cycles got screwed up and will run over and over 2 or 3 times for like 90 minutes total. Uses water like crazy. Do not buy a SAMSUNG washer please. The SPIN only cycle does a rinse and spin. Idiotic. You cant even use half the cycles becasue they simply wont work as designed. And it does go off balance all the time no matter how you adjust the level. My wife is furious. Paid $731 for this thing.
