Nepotism exists everywhere. But the thing is, Malayalam industry don't support it blindly rather give somehow(~) equal opportunities for the outsiders also. On the other hand, star kids of Malayalam industry are not arrogant like Bollywood. They are polite, well behaved, down to earth human being. That's why people love them. Most importantly, people love the story of the movies basically. Upto when they give a wonderful story and acted naturally, no matter what who the person is either star kid or outsiders.

The thing is most of the Malayalam nepo-kids, are humble, talented and welcome the outsiders with open arms.
If they don't know acting they will back down and wouldn't try to feature in more and more movies. They are willing to cast talented outsiders in the films they are in, and make great bonds with them.
    That's the reason.
If audience don't like their acting they would respect that and won't return.
And would return in some cases like Fahad, who spent 7 year improving his acting skills.
So what's not to love about the Malayalam nepo-kids?

Pranav Mohanlal's films are all shit IMO. It's Mohanlal, his fan-groups, money, and influence that helped such amature films to earn crores and become successful. And that's dangerous for an industry like Malayalam and for healthy film culture.
According to Mohanlal's old interviews, he never wanted to enter films; it was for Mohanlal he did. He's down-to-earth and simple, but not a good actor and shouldn't be launched in home-productions to become something he's not. If he does that again, we can't still be proud of the Malayalam industry.

That day I went to Kottayam to watch watch that movie. The audience was very excited when dq was shown on the screen. Maybe because that movie was just average then, we now feel that dq did not get the audience's attention in the very first movie.

@@RJJINTOthat was actually a trick. A pr stunt. If he acted in a big movie, ppl would have called him out. Mammootty co-rules Mollywood with MohanLal. He knwos how the public works. So made his son act in a low profile film. Then made him work in movies that will highlight his character and make an impression on the people. Anjali Menon and Mammootty had an agreement here. Mammootty needed someone to showcase his kid and Anjali Menon needed support to stabilise her careere as a director. It wasn't easy for her to become a director as a lady. Even in Bangalore days, dq was given the more likeable character. While Nivin was pushed tot he side as a comedy role. Even given specs to make him less than a hero. he was the one who directed Lucifer one of the most highest grossed malayalam film.
all of these star kids took effort to reach into a higher position. and all outsider like
tovino, unni mukudan, nivin pauly, sooraj venjaramoodu and a lot of outsiders got the chance to act. without facing harsh nepotism they got the chance to show their incredibly acting skills. I think that malayalam's nepotism scale is 2.5/10. The 2.5 is just for the star kids' easy chance for debut thats all.

I don't understand why nepotism is spoken about only in the film industry. Don't we see a doctor's son or daughters becoming a doctor. We can see a businessman's son or daughter taking up the family business. Nepotism is a part and parcel of life and is present in every industry. Ofcourse they have an easy access to get work, but they can sustain only if they are good at it. For instance, Suresh Gopi's son isn't very successful, similarly Prem nasir's son wasn't successful. The successful star kids of Malayalam like Fahadh Fazil, Dulquer Salman and Prithviraj are accepted by the audience today only because they are good at their job. At the same time outsiders like Nivin Pauly, Tovino Thomas have the same fan following and status as these star kids. There is a fine balance between star kids and outsiders in the Malayalam film industry. But that's not the case in Bollywood. In Bollywood, star kids are prioritised more than the outsiders in some projects, even if they are bad actors. They really need to find the right balance quickly, otherwise the Bollywood audience aren't gonna forgive them. We can't keep blaming these star kids for having dreams of becoming an actor or director like their father or mother or any other relatives. But if they are bad at it and still keep on getting work, that's not fair at all. That's what Bollywood is getting wrong at.

If a doctor's son want to become a doctor, he still has to pass exams but an actor's son can get job even if his movie flopped, even if he don't know acting.

it's because even if you are a nepo kid or not, you are only getting popular if you have skill and act in a good movie.
If you don't have the skill no matter who you are, even if you are the son/daughter of a legend, you are not accepted by our audience
In Malayalam film industry nepotism is just an easy way of getting a chance in a movie, the rest only depend on their talent

Nepotism isn't about a person bringing his or her child to his field of work you can blame if a person wishes to make there child like him or if the child want to be like his parents

Malayalam cinema is mainly rated on good stories it doesn't matter how big or small the hero's are if you don't like it nobody will go to the theatres until they make a comeback with something significant and interesting. There are movies of great heroes that might have become a flop coz people dint like it. who is directing or producing? the script should be good that's all that matters. Its also seen that Malayalam cinema is breaking the great beauty standards of other industries.
