- In this video I show how I give my hedgehog her weekly foot baths. In the end of the video I also talk about my new series of short videos. This is a chance for me to get to share more of the pets with you while I'm busy (especially Teazel) and share cute clips that often don't make it on to CZcams because it's not enough content for one of my full-length videos.

Extra Hedgehog Foot Bath Information:
What shampoos can you use for your hedgehog?
1. Baby shampoo-The most popular baby shampoo for a hedgehog (and the only one I would recommend since I have tried it) is Aveeno Baby Shampoo. I used this one in the past but switched because I really didn't like the scent of it very much. It's still an ok product though.
2. A gentle and lightly scented puppy or kitten shampoo-Make sure that it has no anti flea/tick medication in it as the medication (or the amount of medication in it) may not be appropriate for a hedgehog. If your hedgehog has fleas, mites, or ticks please take them to the vet so they can prescribe something safe for your hedgehog. The shampoo I currently use for my hedgehog is Pet Promise Gentle Touch Natural Shampoo for puppies and kittens (it is a "soap free" shampoo).
3. Fragrance and soap free "Aveeno Body Wash"-I have never tried this one but it is highly recommended on Hedgehog Central forums.
Never use tea tree based shampoo/wash on your hedgehog as it is toxic to them. Always read the ingredient list first before trying out any product!

How do you trim a hedgehog's nails? I'm getting a hedgehog soon and I know that you have to trim the nails often.
This was perfect I was just about to ask about bathing your hedgehog! I did give him a bath twice cuz I did notice that his wheel gets really messy LOL I don't use any type of soap but everything else is the same and he gets nice and clean and he loves the snuggles afterwards. Love your Channel!

Hey I just got my hedgehog yesterday, I noticed after I got him home he has a couple small red sores/bumps on him (top of foot and under chin). I googled it and it said mites was a possiblity but the pictures didnt really match and he doesn't have any other symptoms. I know you're not a vet but do you have any idea what it is? Could it be from his old bedding? I think he was on aspen before, it was sort of wood shavings.

Hey there, I have 2 hedgehogs, the problem is, when I get them out they poop alot, and sometimes peeing, would it help to put them in the sink and let them do it there and then ''play'' with them? or what could I do?

Do hedgehogs like to be picked up or does it matter by their personality?
depends on their personality and what time of day it is. Being nocturnal they are grumpy during the day, although some hedgehogs are more active then others. Also depends on the breeder you get it from (a breeder is the best option) and make sure its a qualified breeder to make sure you get a happy, healthy hedgie thats more social.
What do you use to clip a hedgehogs nails?
I use baby nail clippers because they are really small.
How much is it to get a hedge hog? ( Cage , padding ,bedding ,food bowl water bowl, and hedge hog.)

a lot of money,a hedge alone can cost 100-500 dollars.the rest totals from 300 to 600 dollars on average,plus 5-20 dollars recurring for food and the electricity bill for warming your hedges enclosure (i don't know the exact price for that one) thank you for learning about hedges before purchasing one. oh, and not in a mean way, but hedgehog is one word

@snowdrophedgie r u still making hedgehog care videos because I just got a new hedgie she is cute and nice but can be a little stubborn she is bearly a few weeks old but can be a bit picky when it comes to food and poops an unbelievable amount she won't stop pooing on her wheel and ive tried potty training her by gathering her poo and putting it on a napkin to poo on but she either goes under the napkin, flings the poop off the napkin, or poops somewhere else and she isnt very open to different foods she also accidently ate a sausage that fell off my pizza is that bad excuse all my questions but I can see as if last year you stopped making videos are you going to continue?:*-( °.° pls do because hedgies are a lot of work
hedgehogs cant be potty trained, its natural instinct to poop while they run, and yes all hedgies poop alot. thats how they are. Also, what do you feed her? Hedgies eat cat food that are high in protein (the more protein the better) and low in fat. And they also need some vegetables and fruits and their diet, some good options are cilantro, strawberries, bell peppers, bananas, carrots, and some more options that I am not aware of, im sure. Give them fruits and vegetables here and there, im not sure how often exactly. They need some insects in their diet, too. Good options are silkworms, crickets, and mealworms. Freeze dried or alive. give them 3 once every other day. Thats all I have to say. Oh wait, the best wheel to buy is a carolina bucket wheel. It is sooo easy to clean! You wont even care about cleaning the wheel its that easy. Search it up on google it should pop up.

I am not sure where you found that information but you should NOT bathe your hedgehog that often, this will dry out their skin, making you hedgehog uncomfortable. I have had my hedgehog for almost 2 years and bathe him once every two weeks and will give him foot baths if his feet become too dirty.
